Alley Cafe Bar, Nottingham

I usually hang out at the Alley Café Bar. I like everything about the place – food, service, décor and of course their amazing smoothies and coffee. In fact, I am addicted to their smoothies.

Alley Café Bar is the place to be. It helps me unwind. All of us friends get together at the bar and have a great time. Delectable fresh food, lip-smacking smoothies, refreshing coffee, what more do I want!

The Alley Cafe is is a really sweet little cafe right in Nottingham city centre. It's a minute from the square tram stop. As it's name suggests, it up an alley! Don't blink or you'll miss it but it's worth the search. Vegetarian food has gotten scarce in Nottingham lately and this is a haven for veggies in search of great food.I have taken several meat eaters there who have been very impressed by the food and have not moaned a bit when served with vegan chocolate biscuit cake with ice cream!

It has outdoor seating that is wonderful in the summer, a mini courtyard, very peaceful for the centre of town. upstairs in the bar it's cosy and comfortable. It has local artists displaying their work and always nice music. The food is fabulous, always fresh and tasty, specials change daily and are really creative. Everything is labeled so you know which things are veggie and vegan. There is a good range for vegans and there is always a vegan special.

In the evening this place buzzes but still manages to keep a relaxed vibe.

Day or night this is a lovely place to hang out whether your there for a coffee,a three course meal or a beer with your mates. Go Try it out!

Good Points: Fantastic freshly cooked food, good sized portions, great smoothies and coffee. Very relaxed friendly atmosphere.Good art work on display.

Bad Points: The cafe isn't very big so it sometimes difficult to get a seat, but it is worth waiting for.

General comments: This is a vegetarian cafe, but don't be put off. Everything is fresh and well made, a great range, and fantastic staff. The nicest atmosphere. Clean toilets. Its difficult to locate the Alley Cafe due to its tucked away location off the Old Market Square, there is a orange sign on the walk which leads up an alley to the Alley Cafe.

This is a vegetarian cafe, but don't be put off, I often bring friends who aren't veggie and they all love the food. Everything is fresh and well made, a great range, and fantastic staff. The nicest atmosphere. best to try to go on off peak times to guarantee a seat. I have never had a bad experience here in the year I have been going.
