Waited ages in gueue could not exchange trousers without receipt they assume you took them and want money back wanted to change for right size will never go again

Absolutely shocking. Be very careful this store be it in person or online will fetch from you. Bought item in sale. Store had closed changing rooms but failed to put up any signs or have staff at self checkout to tell people that their standard return policy had changed and sale goods were non refundable. Despite this would only give refund on a gift card. Then purchased online using gift card. Bought goods for £60, paid £10 gift card and rest on credit card. Kept goods worth £20 so well in excess of gift card. When checked refund they had only returned £30 to card and £10 to gift card. Absolute sham. Contacted them to which they vaguely referred to their T&Cs allowing them to do this. Checked T&Cs and they most certainly don’t. Since pointing this out Matalan has refused to respond to any further messages and won’t provide a postal address for a written complaint. BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE PURCHASING AS THEY APPEAR TO THINK UK LAW DOES NOT APPLY TO THEM.

The Till Fiasco

Going to a staffed till wanted to pay by card above the till it did say cash only but on two big notices each side of queuing Isle clearly states at staffed tills payment is cash or card was told very rudely could only pay cash bit after telling them about there signs was reluctantly let me pay by card was very disappointed by my experience has this has happened more than once I do not want to use a self service till

Tried to return goods to be told 3 days to late lady pointed out date on receipt I've never know this before always thought it was 28 days apparently its now 14 they could quite easily re sold these items but would rather turn people away with goods no good to them won't use this shop again will go to someone who value my custom and plays fair

One Of The Managers Provided Terrible Customer Service.

One of the managers provided terrible customer service. Instead of assisting customers, the manager was more interested in other jobs. When I asked for assistance and requested to help since I was getting late for work, He rudely responded by telling me to wait for 10 minutes because I have other things to do. I had visited the Swindon store , Tuesday Morning 31/01/2023.

You Wont Be Given Your Money Back Here!!

I purchased some sale items in the Biggleswade store, I tried them on at home because they no longer have any fitting rooms.

As the items didn't fit I returned them for a refund, I had paid using my debit card so I was expecting the refund to be put back on the debit card.

They flatly refused to do this for me and issued the refund onto one of their gift cards, thus forcing me to return to the shop another time to spend what's on the card instore.

So be aware if you buy any sale items here because they wont give you your money back if they don't fit.

I will now only go back once more to spend the gift card and then that's it, I'll no longer shop at Matalans ever again.

Chias At The Checkout

Yesterday I visited the Brimsdown store and had a lovely time selecting clothes for the family. Then I went to pay! What a disaster. Gone were the friendly till staff who have always been so helpful. Paying by card is now all self service. After being in the queue for half an hour patience was running short. Then to have to remove hangers, search for hidden security tags and pile all of your purchases up in a heap I was not happy. The poor woman who had the job of assisting shoppers was lovely and helpful, but rushed off her feet. I have osteoarthritis in my hands, and if it had not been for my daughter in law who was with me I think I would have abandoned my shopping and left. I spent over £200.00, but even if I had spent £2.00 I would still have expected better service. I love your choice of merchandise, but will think long and hard about a return visit.

BY FAR THE WORST WEBSITE I HAVE EVER ORDERED FROM. I MADE AN ORDER ON 01/11/16 FOR NEXT DAY DELIVERY GOT A EMAIL THE NEXT DAY SAYING MY PARCEL HAD BEEN DISPACTED AND I HAVE STILL NOT RECIVED MY ORDER 19/11/16. I HAVE LEFT THEM 4 EMAILS AND MADE A NUMBER OF CALLS BUT JUST KEEP GETTING CUT OFF OR JUST RINGS OUT. WILL NEVER BE USING THIS WEBSITE AGAIN. I SPENT £137 ON STOCK AND I WILL BE ASKING FOR SOME OF MY MONEY BACK FOR THE INCONVIENCES. IF I DO NOT RECIVE ANY COMPANSATION I WILL BE TAKEN IT HIGHER CAUSE THEY SHOULD NOT BE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS WOULD ADSIVE PEOPLE NOT TO ORDER ONLINE FROM MATALAN CAUSE THEY ARE A JOKE WHEN IT COMES TO SENDING ORDERS.

Poor Online Service

I ordered bikini with 5 days delivery service. After 9 days of not having received it I was reasured I will get my order shortly. Today however I received an email saying that my order was returned to Matalan ad the driver was not able to find where I live. I live just by the Woking town center! Not difficult to find.

I had to order my bikini somewhere else with next day delivery charge in order to have it before my holidays! Just a poor service!

Excellent Product And Speedy Delivery

I ordered an adult Anna (Frozen) costume for World Book Day on Friday night and received my order on Sunday morning. Super speedy delivery. The costume is brilliant and has such lovely detail for such a cheap price at £20. I will definitely be ordering from Matalan again as this was a brilliant first experience. Thank you Matalan 10/10 :)
