Good Food But Really Overpriced For The Portion Si
Good food but really overpriced for the portion sizes. Cost me £75 for 2 prawn cocktails (which were ridiculously small), 1 filo tart, 1 '9oz' (maybe 2oz pushing it) steak, 1 sticky toffee pudding, 3 beers and 2 glasses of wine. The waiters were nice but not that attentive and it took a long time between courses.

Although We Have Eaten Several Times At No 81 We C
Although we have eaten several times at No 81 we chose to take visitors last year who live in Dubai. They have a vast choice of top class restaurants serving food across many categories and we have been fortunate in sharing some gastronomic experiences there with them. However, our friends were really impressed with No. 81 and sung it's praises. The quality of food was excellent, the service very good, prices were very reasonable but the icing on the cake for our friends was an item on the
Wine List that they have trouble finding elsewhere in the world, the name of this after dinner wine escapes me but it is made from grapes that are starting to rot!! However it tasted fine although I'm not a fan of after dinner wines. We have been to No. 81 since and have never had a meal that hasn't been excellent. I would recommend it to lovers of good food but not for those who prefer plain dishes or are fussy eaters.

The Food Is Of An Exceptional Quality And The Lunc
The food is of an exceptional quality and the lunch menu is extremely well priced. When we used the upstairs private room, the service was excellent - we never felt that we were being left alone too long. The short menu has just enough variety to cover everyone's tastes and the fish in particular is excellent.

We Have Visited 81 Beach St Many Times For Sunday
We have visited 81 Beach St many times for Sunday lunch, and found it always delivers. They have taken the traditional Sunday roast and given it a more refined twist. The vegetables are served up separately, with each given a new variation, such as carrots with ginger, or something new such as samphire or a rott-vegetable mousse. Service is friendly, smooth and efficient.
Overall, tradtional Sunday lunch with a sophisticated treatment. Good value too.

After Being Given A Voucher For 81 Beach Street, D
After being given a voucher for 81 Beach Street, Deal we viewed their website and menus and as one of our party is a fussy eater he found nothing he could eat on the dinner menu.
we decided to go for the sunday lunch..... the restaurant, staff, food was very good. the only complaint i had was that i prefer starters than desserts and we did not know that they dont have ANY starters available on their sunday menu
i asked to view the evening menu and found it was not the same as their website and we were disappointed as if this menu had been made known to us we would have preferred to have an evening out than wasting our voucher on a sunday lunch.

We Have Never Had A Poor Experience At 81 And Have
We have never had a poor experience at 81 and have tried most of what the menu has to offer. My especial favourite is the smoked haddock main course. Friends recommend the halibut. 81 is best value for money in my view when compared to other restaurants in Deal

Deal Is A Lovely Little Seaside Resort. 81 Beach S
Deal is a lovely little seaside resort. 81 Beach Street is a cosy restaurant right on the seafront. It's a modern place, with light decor and a relaxed atmosphere. Before the first course arrived, we were given home made rolls and a dip of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I ordered crab spring rolls, which were nice, crisp and simple, with a sweet chilli dipping sauce, which was a little spicier than the shop bought varieties. The Mrs ordered terrine of duck, which she said needed an accompanying sauce, but I thought was delicious without.
My main course was Sea Bass on Thai style noodles. The fish was crisp on the skin side, two fillets and the sauce with the noodles was mildly spiced. My wife's main course was a vegetarian option called Arracini (I think). I've not come across this dish before. It was a goats cheese rissotto in a case of breadcrumbs. Very impressive. Came with a roasted red pepper sauce. The risotto was creamy, and the cheese flavoured the dish without overpowering it. By now I was being rightly praised for my choice of restaurant. We had enough room for dessert. I made mine last ages. It consisted of a small, hot chocolate pudding which oozed thick dark chocolate sauce from the centre. Next to it was a scoop of home made ice cream, and next to this was a slice of chocolate terrine, reminiscent of a brownie, but with pistachio nuts. The presentation was excellent. My wife had a similarly styled dish of three items made to look like a work of art. We chose a bottle of rose wine at around £14, which was one of the cheaper options, but very pleasant. I live about 4 hours from Deal and only visit once a year, but I'll definitely be eating here again.
I've eaten here a couple of times and really enjoyed it and this review has twisted my arm for another go, lets hope they can handle my 19 friends!
