Lost Cause !

Ours is a few months old, been seen by Indesit engineers 5 times and had 3 new parts fitted (motor, heater, white plastic box at back)

it overheats and is melting its electric cable, it steams clothes but does not dry them.

Been told to yank out white plastic box, stick your hand in the back, push the delicate wiring out of the way and scoop out gunk.......being careful not to cut your wrist on the sharp metal edge ! (ideal for those with suicidal tendencies)

Wash out the cartridge every month ? No....every two days !!!!!!

I am going to involve Trading Standards because we have had enough of this fiasco.

I wish we had come to you and read the reviews rather than be taken in by smooth sales staff. (please note the same rubbish is available with the Hotpoint badge but at a much higher price)

Its All Live

Had this approx. 2-3 years and up until now has worked (although thinking back to previous dryers, it does take a really long time to dry clothes!)

My wife was taking clothes out yesterday & got a shock from inside the drum.

She thought it was static, but after the next one decided enough was enough.

I checked it with a electrics tester screwdriver (the one that lights up when live electric is present) & it lit up!!!!

The whole of the drum was live! For some reason it didn't trip the RCD which is even more worrying.

I took off the top & sides & checked for any loose wires but couldn't see anything.

I checked the main chassis & that too was live! The whole dryer is live & a real death trap.

I removed the heating element cover & 2 of the elements are broken (not the coils but the cardboard strips holding the coils).

After checking out other reviews I am thinking to scrap it straight away & not bother spending any money on it.

Been Through 3 Heater Elements In 3 Nearly 4 Years

Been through 3 heater elements in 3 nearly 4 years, ok if your hands on but very unreliable if your not. Each time I replace heater element it costs £30 + delivery from eBay, not value for money when I spent £200 on it to start with it wasn't exactly a cheaper model. Wouldn't buy a condenser dryer EVER again, had 3 replacements to start with and previously owned a White Knight dryer that they replaced with the indesit.

Totally Agree With All The Previous Comments Whate

Totally agree with all the previous comments whatever you do please don't buy an indesit is70c condenser drier we first bought it no problems apart from a bit of water leaking into the drier just a minor electrical hazzard, I feel they make these tumble driers to last just after the warranty a total con, they state parts are totally free for 5 years we told them the belt had snapped they wanted to send an engineer out and charge £104, I bought the belt myself fitted it what a pain in the neck cutting my arms to bits on the razor sharp metal and dog rough finish with screws hanging out everywhere and sharp plastic edges, I found that the machine stopped working altogether tripping the electric, I opened up the back and found the heater element had also gone costing around £40 not confident if I buy one will it resolve the problem, 13mths later and It will work out cheaper to buy a new drier not a bloody indesit thats for sure as the saying goes BUY CHEAP BUY TWICE.

Against My Better Judgement I Bought This Dryer Wh

Against my better judgement I bought this dryer when my Creda,of 29 years use, gave up. Big mistake. I hardly ever use it as it would take far too long for the clothes to come out dry. There is the same fault on the door as many people have found, and the noise would wake the dead. It wasn't a cheap option either when I was looking for a replacement. "Disappointing" is an understatement. Wish I had my Creda back!

Door Catch Again It Had Very Light Use Only Used I

Door catch again it had very light use only used it maybe 30 times before it broke, and again just out of warranty. I don't think I would be willing to take another chance on Indesit, it's a false economy, spent a little more on quality that's my message

Indesitis70c This Is The Worst Condensor Dryer I H

IndesitIS70C This is the worst condensor dryer I have ever owned , from the start the noise made by the pump housing vibrating everytime it was pumping water was unbelievably loud and then after a few months it started to short my electrics, my husband is an electrician so he had a quick look inside to discover an enormous amount of fluff had built up on the wiring which was causing the short, only the fact we have new elctrics with an rcd had saved us from a possible electrical fire .Once the fluff was removed it worked agin but has needed fluff removing several more times from inside it , the other day it was doing it again so the top came off (it's been off so often I don't bother putting the screws back in ) but this time it's a different problem , my husband checked the element and as he removed the cover from it water flooded out !!! I couldn't believe it !!! yet another fire risk , also the pump was blocked with soggy fluff that had worked it's way through and after taking the sides off all the electrics were coated with a thick layer of fluff !!! Why this machine bothers with a filter at all is beyond me , so now after less than 18 months of ownership we have a machine that won't switch on without tripping the electrics ,probably has a broken heater from the water and a pump that may or may not work now it's been unblocked , out of warranty and not worth the cost of repair , not that my husband wants it in the house anymore since seeing the state of the inside of it ! We had also had the water full light coming on intermittantly as some other reviewers mentioned even though it was attached to a drain , and it was always very slow to dry . I will never buy an Indesit product again especially after reading this wasn't a one off , we never contacted Indesit for repairs as it was quicker with the fluff problem to remove it ourselves so can't comment on their customer service .

I Had Only Had This Product For Around 14 Months W

I had only had this product for around 14 months when it broke down but of course it was outside the 12 month warranty. I asked a local firm to take a look, only to be told the whole of the drum had split and would need replacing - a major repair. I rang Indesit hoping for some goodwill but the best they could do was advise I take out a protection plan at a reduced rate! To get an engineer to come out and fix it with a spare drum under the 5 year parts warranty would cost in excess of £100 so not worth it. I would not recommend this drier as it broke down with a major fault after little use and a short space of time.
