Incompetent Angry Instructor

Male instructor I’ll call him Parren Dickard from Normanton/wakefield area. Horrific, didn’t plan a single lesson in advance so spent the first 20 mins of every lesson figuring out when i will do and where we’ll go for it. Constantly gave me last second directions so there was not enough time to do my checks before turning. Got angry when I made a mistake and sulked like a little girl afterwards. Guy needs a stick dislodged from somewhere

Mik Lcd Driving In Stirling Was Rude Before I Even Met Him.

Mik was rude to me before I had even booked a lesson. Sarcastic and rude when I was perfectly polite.

Would not get into a car with this person.

Abusive Driving Instructors

Driving instructor from this company gave me verbal abuse and threatened me when I had an issue with his car illegally parked in a bus stop.

He then followed my bus up to the terminus to threaten and abuse me, the bus drive, all because I'd said "a driving instructor should know better," when I saw his car parked and blocking the bus stop.

Just seen months later he's still working for them and they clearly took no action against him.

Waste Of Time And Money

Not for me as I got fooled by other reviews so went with the instructor who I was with for 3 weeks but I ended up finding another instructor yesterday after being let down 3 times in a row which is not good. I understand things happen which can't be helped and need time sorting but I always had to chase the instructor to find out what was happening, so I couldn't tell whether he was lying or not, either way I was suspicious as the first lesson he couldn't do, under 2 hours for the second time and had to leave and not give a reason why, then called the other 2 this week off.

Yes this made me suspicious and didn't know what to believe especially after reading reviews about LDC about their other instructors doing the same, so maybe I did the right thing.

As I only had one lesson I can't recommend him unfortunately which is a shame because I've wasted time chasing him and kept being delayed last minute but I found another instructor who is doing a 2 hour session £3 cheaper which to me is a £3 saving so hopefully things will hopefully be better.

I could learn with him along another instructor but I don't think it's worth it if this is going to keep happening.

The first lesson was alright, could be a bit better by sticking to the full 2 hours which I didn't have as it was under by 15 minutes and didn't give a reason why he needed to leave so not great and I wasted money and time so definitely not great, bearing in mind it's £66 if you do a 2 hour session with him.

I understand as a first lesson it's not going to be anything special but I got to do a three point turn and a little drive so 2 stars.

I think people who are already with him or plan on going with  him should read reviews about LDC on facebook and review centre and then decide if this driving company is for you, I unfortunately had nothing but letdowns so I decided to change, if anyone is plan on doing the same and located on Port Talbot area, maybe try looking at another instructor would be the best bet.

Best thing you ever done. I didn't even find him helpful.either to be honest and he didn't even teach me POM. I am so glad I am now with Red.

Can confirm this is true. The instructor you are talking about is located in the Bridgend area where I did my lessons, and he was incredibly unreliable. Such a shame because he was a fantastic help, but wasted a lot of my time. So glad I found somebody else.

Expensive, Stalking, Time Wasting

To start with my lessons were great, I learned a lot, but then they lessons got very repetitive and felt like they was just dragging out lessons for more money, eventually I passed after some considerable of money where out into the scheme. And now I’ve passed my instructor has been pestering me and my parents about my driving, checking up on me saying I’m a worry, in my eyes after I’ve passed I’m out of there hands and they have no right to criticise the way we drive I’ve heard this from multiple people. So watch out for (stalking ) after you pass as it’s quite pressuring knowing they are watching you.

Would not recommend as there are cheaper better and more professional companies out there.

Rude Instructor

On paper this sounded like the ideal way to learn to drive, I'm sure it works for others but the instructor I got ( chelmsford area) was the rudest man ever, I like most people need encouragement not someone to criticize everything I did then try to imply i was dyslexic and not listening. I changed to a different driving school after 5 months of coming home in tears and passed first time within 2 months,

I really wouldn't bother with ldc

I would take this up with Ldc. They are strictly against such behaviour and I’m sure they would be appalled to learn of a Ldc instructor treating a student like this

An Amazing Instructor!!!

After a few months of lessons elsewhere and feeling my son was getting nowhere, we decided to go to LDC and take a quick course with the test at the end. All I can say is, I'm so glad we did this, my son who lacks confidence passed his test first time with flying colours, best money we spent...the instructor made my son feel at ease from the moment he met him...I offered to take out more lessons just incase my son wasn't ready as it was a very quick course, and I was told he wouldn't need them, so as for being money grabbers, I didn't see that from them at all..from when I first made the call, all I have witnessed is very attentive people on the phone and an amazing instructor...if I could give 5 more * I would...I definitely would recommend our instructor to EVERYONE!!!

Care Only About Profits, Not Customer Service

Deeply unimpressed with LDC, and I agree with what other reviewers have said about them being money-grabbing. In September I paid over £900 upfront on the understanding that by paying, I was securing a booking in November. I was told that my instructor would contact me to confirm. He did not, so I got in touch only to learn that he was already booked up, and that someone else might be available at the end of January.

I received no apology for this waste of my time from either him or the head office, who took a very cold tone once I raised the possibility of a refund. Surprisingly, and to their credit, I was refunded in full. I feel, however, that they totally prioritise taking your money - delivering the service they have promised is secondary.

I have never been less valued as a customer and would strongly advise anyone considering LDC to look elsewhere. Many thanks to the company for setting my driving back three months. Hopefully they'll invest the interest they earned on my £900 in customer service training.

Money Grabbing Instructor

I have been doing some lessons with Yiannis. I already had a full license for my country but decided to get myself a British license. I had 10 lessons and booked my test. I showed Yiannis my booking confirmation and even sent it to him in a text message. just so he knew the date/time and test center. On the day of test I booked and paid for another 2 hour lesson for beforehand then Yiannis took me to the test center only for it to be the wrong one. So I missed my test and lost the £63 some how Yiannis said it was my fault as I didn't book his preferred center. I then book another test at a later date (at the preferred center) only to fail on 2 minor faults and 1 major due to no fault of my own. The examiner said it was very unfortunate and I'm definitely ready for another test. However Yiannis has insisted in more lessons when I explained I could only afford a couple of 1 hour lessons he told me to look for another car or instructor to do my test with. I feel he is only interested in money and not getting people to pass.

Q&A

kingqa

I am looking at becoming a driving instructor then taking a franchise with the company that trains me. I only want to work a maximum of 20 hrs/wk. Could you recommend this company or any other? I live in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. I have also been reviewing Surepass & Blink.

Any recommendations would be most appreciated. I have done my financial comparisons, but if the company i select is not very good, then any financial savings maybe worthless in the long run.
