Fuji FinePix S8000 FD

I observed the Fuji FinePix S8000fd is a good super zoom camera that brings a lot to the table.

I like the most its features such as 18X zoom lens, CCD-shift image stabilization, full manual controls, effective redeye reduction, and more.

I do think that the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 is a better overall camera, with its RAW support and superior performance, but the Finepix S8000fd is definitely worth a look.

A brilliant idea spoiled in the execution! When my previous brilliant Fuji (S5000) died, I didn't hesitate to replace it with the S8000, especially with its amazing optical zoom - but it has been a nightmare, giving constant 'Zoom error' failures where the lens opens, retreats and leaves you with a black LCD screen. You have to switch off and start again. It went back to Fuji 3 times for repair in 11 months and the problem was never resolved. From reading various reviews, it seems to be a common problem and one Fuji can't resolve. A real shame because otherwise it is a brilliant camera.

The Fuji FinePix S8000 FD takes awesome photos. Overall, very good value for money easy to use and a fun camera to use.

Bought the Fuji FinePix S8000 FD camera for my 13 yr old daughter, ideal for her digital photograhy GCSE course she's starting in Sept. Simple to use. She loves wildlife, have got some fantastic photos. Great zoom for a bridging camera. A must buy for a first non compact digital camera.
