If You Were 5 Minutes Later You Would Not Have Got In
This is the second year we stayed at this site last year we were given a pitch number which was gone there was only one pitch left after we were on the pitch for a day a man come and said we were on his pitch he paid that pitch for the year this year we went back got there around 5pm . We were told there was a man at the touring part of the site would tell us where pitch 5 was when we got there the warden said if we were five minutes later we would not have got in , i thought that was a bit much as we were booked and paid in advance we took pitch 31 out of the 3 that were left . Also it looked like there were a few of the travelling community staying their as well not that i had a problem with that each to their own we will not be back their again.

An Amazing Time Had By All. Pleasant, Simple And Entertainin
My daughter and I have only been to Sandybay Caravan Park twice. Both times we had a great time. We have been looking for somewhere we could call our favourite haunt and return to again and again. Finally we found it! It is a cosy comfortable camp. Everyone seems really friendly the campers and the team who work there. It is just right for our needs. Enjoyed a warm swimming pool with freindly staff and nice beach. The first time my daughter entered a talent show and the second holiday was free due to her getting into park finals. The special efforts made for the children was amazing. Special vip area, food, drink, spoilt by team stars. Even when unexpected events happened though no fault of the staff or holiday park, the staff managed to keep everyone entertained and were exceptionally kind to my daughter.
Sometimes all we need is simple, easy, fun and enretainment and a quiet not to busy area to chill. That is all I woulsd expect from a family caravan park and that that is what we got and more. We will be coming back again this year before the season ends and then again and again!! Thankyou all at Sandy Bay, from manager, team stars, compare(cos we cant mention names apparently, but you are very funny!) and cleaning staffxxx
Caravan Was Awful!
Me,my sister and 4 kids arrived for a long weekend. Booked into a silver caravan and all I can say is I would not like to see the bronze if the silver standard is anything to go by. It was grim, the mattresses were awful, first night we had about 2/3 hours sleep. It rained that night and either the vent or window leaked onto the bed and me! I spoke to Clair at reception who was lovely and arranged new mattresses for the 2nd night. But the caravan was small, basic and the seats were all stained, our kids aged between 9 and 17 found very little to do so it would have been nice if we had had a decent caravan just to chill out in. We left a day early. But I must add that all of the staff we met were lovely and very helpful. We were hoping to have another weekend in August but it won't be at sandy bay.
Kids Enterainment
IO think the kids entertainment wasn't good cause the staff were not interactive with the children they were standing around while the kids just got on with it one day they were doing tennis they got 2 tennis rackets out and a ball staurt (the team staff) had to go and get more bats and balls even though they new how many kids there were befor e they went outside then after about five to tens minutes they sat down talking to someone my husband and my son interacted with the kids they are only good when they are on the stag they dont even dance with the kids there's plenty adult fun but we adults can amuse ourselves the kids need entertainment the prices don't have to be that dear I think more would be sold if prices came down a bit.Be more active with the kids aged 2 to 12 would be to your advantage I think.

Good Value Holiday
We arrived slightly early for check in and were greeted politley by staff who offered us map and entertainement passes etc to wait , overall first impression was good and restaraunt/ bar good value nice food and child friendly , Caravan VERY clean no issues at all , staff all very friendly and willing to help , entertainement/ disco at night good for kids and grown ups although only downfall was very overpriced gifts behind bar ie glow sticks , bubble blower gun etc spent a small fortune on these !
On site shop reasonably priced and polite staff , good but not intimidating presence of door stewards outside arcades/ disco at night time . play park area for children very clean and fun although far too many young foul mouthed children unattended by adults shouting swear words fighting etc infront of small children , Beach very close and great fun for kids NOT a huge number of activites to do on site so spent most of our time travelling in car to nearby kids soft play centres and whitley bay beach which was lovely ! didnt attempt to go to swimming poool as was always extremly busy and auwkward opening times for kids free swim ( most of the pool time was for mother and baby and senior citizens ) ? :/

After Reading The Reviews On Here And Another Revi
After reading the reviews on here and another review centre I was dreading my stay at Sandy Bay Holiday Park. I'm delighted to say I had a positive stay and I have already booked another caravan for three months time!!
I received a letter five days before I was due to check in informing me that because I was staying in a Silver Plus Accomodation I could checkin in at 2:30pm, which I already knew after visiting their website and receiving the confirmation letter. I read in some of the reviews people travelled for a few hours and had to wait around so I'm not sure if they send letters to everyone but to be fair it is common sense to check the website or call and ask! They also advised to bring cleaning products, tea towels, torches and matches.
Arrival:
I arrived a bit earlier than expected, very easy to find, the entrance of the park could do with a bit of attention but that's not a major thing. I went straight to reception and I was greeted with excellent customer service, the lady was very helpful, took my telephone number, gave me the complex's passes and promised she would call as soon as the cleaners had finished with the caravan. I received a call before I had even entered the bar.
The Caravan:
I stayed in a Silver Plus caravan, carpets had a few stains on which to be fair you have to expect as there could be more than two different parites staying within a week. Everything was clean and tidy, the only issue I had was that the dishes had been cleaned and not dried so all the cupboards were soaked.
In the living area was a large "L" shaped sofa with a dining table and two stools. The was a 26" flat screen tv which had freeview. Gas fire. Single glazed windows with nets and curtains. In the kitchen area there was a range of wall and floor units, sink and drainer, gas cooker, cooking utensils, dishes, cups, glasses, a bin, kettle, toaster, microwave and a small fridge/freezer. One tip: DO NOT TAKE FROZEN FOOD. The showeroom/WC was small than I expected after viewing the floorplans online, tidy and clean still. One tip: TAKE PLENTY OF TOILET ROLL. Bedroom one had two small beds, can't imagine two grown adults in these mind! Wardrobe space and a small heater. The master bedroom was quite large, double bed, wardrobe space, mirror, 2x electric socket, one heater, 2 bedside tables. There was extra duveys and pillows at the bottom of the wardrobes which came in handy as it was freezing during the night.
As my car was full, I parked the car outside the caravan, the lady at reception had said this was fine but she did advise against it due to bad weather. After settling in we went out to the bar for a few hours and returned to the caravan for some food and more drink around 9pm. There was a loud knock on the door and someone from security told me to remove my car, I explained what I was told at reception, to which he laughed at and said "I don't think so love, move it!" I asked for his name and reported it to the sight manager, just for his attitude!!! The site manager apologised and assured me he would speak to all staff so there is consistancy throughout the complex.
The entertainment is great for those with families but nothing really for couples, there should be more entertainment on an evening for adults, as even at 9pm they were still entertaining the children.
The shop is small, but has essentials such as bread, milk etc. It also has some cheap games to keep kids happy, theres a swimming pool (indoor) didn't use it though so can't comment on that, the bar served decent food, reasonabloe prices, there is also the Woodhorn Grange about 5 mins away, and of course Newbiggin-By-The-SEA, town centre has Co-op.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sandy Bay Holiday Park, two days after coming home I received a letter asking for feedback and offering me a free upgrade. I have now booked a Gold Caravan for three months time.
A caravan is a caravan, it is not a 3/4/5* hotel, therefore people should expect some aspects of the caravan will be slightly dirty (the floor for example!)
I received nothing but the best customer service at Park Resort, all the staff were friendly, with the exception of the security guard.
I would highly recommend tourists to visit this holiday park!

Just Come Back From This Site And Would Never Revi
Just come back from this site and would never revisit. We where in a tourer, the pitches where all uneven resulting in flooding when it rained. You could pich anywhere even awning to awning which is a fire hazard and not allowed on any other site i have been on. The showers were dirty and old and certainly not cleaned reguarly as they claim. Security where no where in site on our first night when there was about 5-6 people swearing and fighting form 0030hrs to 0730hrs. I would not recommend this site to anybody and if you are thinking about booking..................dont!!!!!!

Sandy Bay Caravan Site Was The Worst Holiday I Hav
Sandy Bay Caravan site was the worst holiday I have ever been on, we arrived on the saturday to a disgusting caravan. The double bed was broken, there was food on the kitchen floor and crumbs in the drawers and on the units. The bathroom made us bork just opening the door. We told the staff we would be leaving due to the state of the caravan, they apoligised and gave us another caravan to look at. Although this was a little cleaner we couldnt face staying there, the beds had fresh clean sheets on but in one room the bedrom cutain with a huge squashed bluebottle fly was resting on the pillow, how they didnt see this ive no idea! There was a pubic hair in the supposedly clean bedding in thedouble room and the toilet was still not clean and smelt. We told the staff that we wouldnt be staying the night afterall and explained why to which they replied that the caravans suffer from wear and tear! We totaly understand this but a dead fly and a pubic hair is not wear and tear!! These vans are not checked and unless your willing yo take your own cleaning products then I advise you not to stay!
I found this review very helpful because it gives insight in to the continuing conditions found at this resort, conditions which are reflected in other reviews...

Having Read The Reviews On Here I Was Worried Abou
Having read the reviews on here I was worried about what we would find when we arrived at Sandy Bay. Our caravan, although basic was clean and had everything we needed. The beds had been freshly made up. The site is right at the beach and my son loved playing there. The entertainment complex isn't huge but perfectly adequate. We ate in the restuarant once during our stay - the food was fine. The swimming pool changing area could be doing with an upgrade - cubicles don't lock and lockers consist of shelves around the poolside but pool itself was fine. We actually prefered Sandy Bay to Haggerston Castle which we moved to later on in the week.
I found this review not helpful because it did not reflect the views of other reviewers and seemed to be a one off. However individuals eperiences and expectations may vary and this may be the case here
