Hate It, Waste Of Money!
I bought the silver cross sleepover pram as thought I was getting great value for money. You certainly get plenty with it however, having used it for 2 yrs with my first child, now with my second who is 4 mths I have lost the will and had to fork out more money on a new one. As mentioned the carry cot does not come off chassis easily my husband can do it with two hands but I need to do it one side at a time so by the time I get round to the second side the other has clicked back on. Had to lie it on its side to try and get off today which took 10 mins not good with both kids in car going nuts. Glad it wasnt chucking it down. The backrest for the pushchair is very difficult to get up and practically impossible when hood on. I thought all these things would improve with regular use but clearly not. The other bug bearers are both hoods for pram and car seat when puttin up and down make clicking noises so not great if you have a sleeping baby. Lovely looking pram but definitely not fit for purpose.

Not Fit For Purpose
Unfortunately we bought this based on the looks, my wife being heavily pregnant couldn't get close enough to try removing from the frame while in the shop, now the baby is here it turns out she can't remove it from the frame at all without turning it on its side and pushing the clips from below! The catch mechanism is shockingly badly designed, it requires a ridiculous amount of force and I even find it quite difficult.
We have had no joy from Silver Cross in resolving this problem and judging by other peoples reviews this problem has been around for years and won't be getting fixed. Their customer service is disgusting too.
Not fit for purpose unless you have man hands.

My Baby Was Born Three Weeks Ago And Have Had No P
My baby was born three weeks ago and have had no pleasure from this pram given the difficulty in removing the body from the chassis. Going out has become a nightmare because of this. There seems to be a problem with one of the mechanisms. Have phoned Silvercross about this and their advice is to oil it. So not only do we have a faulty product but customer care has been sadly lacking.

I Have The Silver Cross Classic Sleepover. I Want
I have the Silver cross classic sleepover. I wanted a traditional looking pram and i have had nothing but great comments from people on how it looks. The carrycot is a good size which is great because my little girl was quite big when she was born and is very long. She would have grown out other carrycots in no time. It is easy to push around and has great suspension. She looks really comfortable in it. The handle bar is a good height for me and my husband who are quite tall. The number of accessories that come with it make it excellent value for money. It wasn't as expensive as some other prams that were smaller. It fits into my car boot which isn't that big. The chassis is quite heavy to carry, and it would be difficult to travel on public transport. The fixings are quite stiff to begin with but quickly ease off. The only down side about it is that it is quite big and cumbersome for short trips in the car so I have purchased the silvercross pop stroller for nipping into town. I have never had anything wrong with the pram and we definitly made the right choice.

Originally Ordered The Babystyle Lux 3 In 1....on
Originally ordered the Babystyle lux 3 in 1....on collection found the pram was too low and not sturdy...had already paid depositi so i opted for the 'Silver cross Sleepover' this was originally my first choice but the price shocked me...now though i would happily pay the price again. i originally brought the linear chassis (small swivel wheels) after being wrongly misinformed the chassis was smaller than the Clasic Chassis...day one of taking the pram in the car it would fit in the car. the carrycot had to go in the boot...chassis on the back seats...however now its in the pushchair mode i can get the whole pram in my boot (clio) with the wheels on their side. i purchased the Classic chassis a few weeks later (big bouncy wheels) and as the wheels click off and it folds smaller i cud fit the wheels and the carrycot on top of eachother in my boot! My daughter was 7lb 3 born and was in the pram mode up till about 5 mnths...i then would put the back up one notch. alot of people have mentioned how it should have a harness in pram mode...the silvercross linear FREEWAY has this...but no mattress so can be felt threw the bottom...as the carrycot is so big there really is no need for a harness as by the time the child is old enough to sit up you would put it into the pushchair anyway. i have the Marina colour (navy with a white/cream trim) and tbh i think it is the best colour...am always having compliments whether in pram or pushchair, on big or small wheels! i never used as a mose basket but i did use the stand and attached the carseat to it...so my daughter cud sit in there straped in and be rocked to sleep. good if i needed to keep her entertained or if id just come in from the car and she was asleep!
the only thing i would change is i wish id first purchased the classic chassis then the linear instead of the other way round. i gave this pram 5 stars and it really does deserve it. yes its bulky but its sturdy! i hate seeing new born babys stuck in a carseat on wheels all the time. i would DEFINATLY recommend this pram it ticks all the boxes. Worth every penny!

I Love This Pram/pushchair, I Wanted A Traditional
I LOVE this pram/pushchair, I wanted a traditional look but able to manouver easily around the shops etc and to have the ability to face me and outward facing once baby is older.
It is used as travel system every day as I have an older daughter to collect from school, I can just pop his carseat onto his wheels and we are off across the play ground. It was used for baby to sleep in at home but never used the cotton cover as I didn't really see the need.
I agree with previous review that is a shame that there is no way to secure my son in pram mode as he got very nosy and wanted to lookaround but was a little young for pushchair mode. Also a little tricky to remove body from chassis to begin with but I have now developed the 'knack' so it much easier. These are the reasons it is not 5 stars
I have this in the marine (navy blue) colourway and I have had many comments of how nice it is to see a 'proper' looking pram and how Silvercross is the Rolls Royce of prams.
A bit on the pricy side but on the other hand comes with almost everything (carseat, footmuff, raincover and changing bag) which bumps up the price other systems.
All in all I am pleased with my choice as it ticks all my boxes.

I Was Looking For A Traditional Pram Along With A
I was looking for a traditional pram along with a pushchair all in one. With this Silver Cross Sleepover Deluxe pram, I definately got that. This product costs around £570 but with that you get all the accessories you'll ever need for it excluding a parasol which costs around £20.00. The chassis was something i really debated over but am so glad I went for the Linear. It's very easy to push as your child gets older and heavier. Even used as a pram, you can go through shops in and out of clothes rails at ease. I would definately recommend this pram to anyone. Hope this helps you.

Having Had A Silver Cross 16 Years Ago For Nephew
Having had a Silver Cross 16 years ago for Nephew #01 I wanted one for my little bundle. The model I have is the Sliver Cross Sleepover Deluxe. It starts as a beautiful moses basket, with pretty drapery and is picture perfect. However, it is so difficult to put together in the first place the chore of then converting to the pram was so daunting that after day 2 when I needed to take him out in the pram I never got to convert back to the moses basket. It is a real shame. It has such a beautiful wooden stand that I can't find an alternate use for. The pram itself is solid and sturdy. Too much so for me as I am unable to remove it from the chassis. I did point this out to himself when we were in the store but he had his heart set on that pram and nothing else would do. I have it in the Vintage design, and thanks to global warming the rain cover has not come off since August. So the delicate Vintage colouring is still quite clean looking. It has to be said that several of the people who stopped me to comment on it (and plenty do) have called it the 'Rolls Royce' of prams. It does make a pretty picture as it is pushed and it stands out a mile from the popular umbrella buggys. It is lovely to see the pram make a comeback and it stands up to its competitors as a very substantial system. It is bulky though. It is wide. It is heavy. I can get it on and off the tram as long as there are not a lot of people and I only use certain doors where there is less seating. I would never attempt to push it onto the bus. I cannot get the carrycot off so it does not come with me in the car. When himself separates them the chassis goes in the boot and the carrycot gets strapped into the passenger seat. It is big. No-one else can separate them. I had to buy a MacLaren to take in the car. That was £250 ($336) on-top of the £800 ($1074) the Silver Cross cost. A rather expensive addition. The carrycot is not a true carrycot at it is actually the buggy frame converted. As such it does not have handles and is hard to lift. You certainly could not lift it with the baby in it. As I mentioned I had trouble docking it with the chassis. The handles are under the fabric, hard to get at and hard to move. Maybe himself has better luck because his hands are larger and stronger. An arthritic grandparent could really struggle with this.I should also mention that the brakes are not the best. I use the brakes mostly when we are on the tram, and I will often hear them pop off. So I basically don't trust them and keep a good grip at all times. But I can walk anywhere, well most places, with the Silver Cross, and I can take it out in any weather. The hood provides both an ample sunshade and wind buffer. The rain cover is snug and a great wind shield but after 5 months has just torn. The basket is not great underneath and can pop open. The adjustable handle locked into one position after 4 months but I was carrying bags on pram hooks so I may have caused that one. Look at the end of the day it is big and it is bulky, it is beautiful and it is classy. I look at my little guy and he has gone from a little bean to a chubby chobster and is still as comfy and as happy as Larry in it. But there is a major drawback. 16 years ago as I mentioned we had a Silver Cross for Nephew #01 and lasted 2 more brothers. It had a safety harness on it so that the baby could be strapped in, and the back raised so that the baby could be propped into a seated position. This one does not. What a backward step. This will force me to convert to a buggy before I want to. I love the pram, even though I don't use the carrycot as a carrycot. I love to push it, I love to take it with me, it encourages me to take walks. But my little guy is getting more curious, more eager and won't stay lying down. If only Silver Cross has not taken the backward step of removing the raised back and security harness. I know those features are present when I convert the system to the buggy and I just can't understand why they are not accessible when it is in use as a pram. What a shame. Grandparents and people of that generation generally love it and I'm often told "sure you can't beat Silver Cross". I know my sister and I were raised in one. (I even had a toy one for my dolls and it was the coolest pram ever!). I have no doubt that this pram will stand the test of time.Overall I love it though. The feel of it is great. It is so solid and secure and in the worst of the weather baby is snug inside laughing out at me. I am resisting the change to the buggy but when safety becomes an issue my sentiment goes out the window. At least he can face me for a while before I turn it outward and face him out to the world. But it will be Daddy who does all the converting I can tell you. I'm not even going to try.
Where Do I Begin. We Bought The Sleepover Deluxe A
Where do I begin. We bought the Sleepover deluxe and had to send the body section back because we couldn't get the thing off the chassis without nearly turning the thing upside down. We were told in John Lewis that this is often a problem. Now got another body and this one still doesn't work without wrestling with the thing like an aligator. I wish I could get my hands on the person who designed the clip on mechanism! I would not recommend this model.
I do not think it is good value for money. Unfortunately at my expense. People want a pram that is easy to take apart above all else - somewhere someone seems have forgotten this in the fancy design process.
I have to agree with you. My freedom to roam was limited because removing the body from the chasis was so difficult, hubby would dismantle it before leaving for work and pack it into the boot of my car, putting it together was easier, but the return trip home often required the help of a strong passer-by to remove it. I was so annoyed at not being independant I sold it and bought a City-Stroller Mini which suits babies from birth and it folds so very easily with one hand -- only wish I had bought this in the first place.
