Avoid Bloor Homes Like The Plague!
Absolutely appalling developer and would genuinely and strongly encourage first time buyers to look elsewhere.
We moved into our house on Edwalton Park, Nottingham, in October 2022, when after being in the property for a matter of weeks the shower blew cascading water all through the house and into the kitchen and living room.
Bloor's initial offer of compensation was to go out for a £40 meal as an apology. They refused to budge and after strong escalation above, a satisfactory redress was offered.
Then, after a few months in the property, Severn Trent noticed our water meter spinning and uncovered a huge leak under our drive which meant that the entire drive had to be dug up. This was done over a matter of days with ground-workers who felt it appropriate to take selfies in the "trench" that they had dug. No offer of compensation was offered until a strong escalation was made yet again, the driveway was then resurfaced with inferior tarmac that is now cracking and splitting.
9 months in, we have been receiving appalling broadband since purchasing the property (the site is an OFNL network essentially meaning you are tied to a strict list of broadband and cannot go directly to Sky or TalkTalk for example).
We complained to our broadband provider who said they had stated to the developer to not locate the broadband box in the understairs cupboards but they had done so anyway, and offered to monitor our line for a number of months.
They then sent an engineer out to our property as they agreed something was amiss, who recently discovered that the ports in the living room and upstairs had never even been connected and were 'missed' by Bloor Homes. This meant that we were unable to bring the router out into a suitable location and as such, fix the poor lapses in network signal.
What was Bloor Homes resolution? To simply state - "if this matter had been referred to us sooner, we would have rectified it sooner".
Bloor are incredibly defensive and always cite their 5 Star HBF ratings - yet these are irrelevant if they are failing to maintain standards - which they are. We can all live in the past.
Our experience was that we consistently had to chase, escalate and micro-manage to get the bare basic levels of respect and communication.
We have heard comments from staff about us - with one individual stating "I don't think you're too popular with Head Office" - and, even though this was said in. a rather humorous manner, my partner and I were well aware that this was indeed how Bloor felt about our custom. It appears they far prefer passive customers who daren't pull them up on their poor performance and consistent failures.
Snagging our property we uncovered 119 snags and had 3 serious issues going forward (a hole in the fireproofing and the two aforementioned major leaks).
Once Bloor have your money - they seem to forget about you as a customer, and I cannot begin to reiterate the stress, anxiety and upset this company has caused.
I will now be liaising with NHBC and my MP to take this forward as communication between Bloor has broken down (from Bloor's side).

Greed.....greed.....greed
This company cares for nothing but profit. It bulldozers itself into communties by fighting against local residents to the bitter end and not giving two hoots. It will never give anything back to residents it upsets and whos lives it turns upside down. I've seen lego house kits that build with better quality than anything they produce. If you're thinking of buying one of their homes, dont bother, just check out other reviews

Buyer Beware
If you are thinking of purchasing a Bloor Home, before you do go and lock yourself in a darkened room and drink your bodyweight in Vodka, the hangover you will get will be much less than the one post purchase. This Company care 'Nothing' for their buyers and will romance you all into believing you will be buying your small piece of heaven when in fact it will be the complete opposite. This company are unscrupulous profit being their only desire. Think before you even consider buying and have that big drink because once purchased drink will be regularly on your menu to dull the pain.

Shoddy Craftsmanship
I have lived in my Bloor home for two years - it was built 9 years ago. We’ve had numerous problems but have never complained. However today the top step of the stair case has completely collapsed inwards … I have a massive hole and two children to clamber over it. I contacted Bloor who said
In my opinion I don’t believe the stairs are substandard or poorly fitted or this would not have performed as it should for the past nine years.”
So, they actually do not think a staircase collapsing in after 9 years is substandard and have said they will do nothing. I now have two children in a house with no functioning staircase

Mr R Sarraff, managing Director, is as bad as his management team. Terrible build quality, management refuse to fix basic snags and head office not interested.
Will never buy with this company again.

Major Issues With Shoddy Quality And Poor Follow Up With Sub
Bought a house from Bloor Homes at Thame Meadows, a development just outside Oxford. Have had multiple issues, 2 of which have just completely ruined the experience of moving into a new home and had an impact on my quality of life. These issues have dragged on for more than a year.
The first of which is to do with rattling sounds from the roof when the wind blows. This was discovered to be due to large broken tile fragments left in the underlay and roof tiles not being tacked down properly. It has taken multiple visits and complaints to Customer Care (South Midlands) and the roofing subcontractor before arriving at the problem, with the usual of people being sent out denying there is a problem, not inspecting the roof carefully and lack of continuity with different people coming out each time. The second issue is also noise related with loud metallic sounds from the hot water cylinder. Again this has dragged on for more than a year with really poor communication and follow up from the subcontractor.
Whilst many of the other minor issues have been sorted out efficiently, the same cannot be said about major issues in relation to subcontractors and it is disappointing that the approach by the customer service from Bloor Homes is that it has nothing to do with them with very little follow up unless they are chased. I have purchased the house from Bloor Homes and not from the subcontractors and so they should take responsibility for shoddy work on the house or poor responses from the subcontractors in dealing with issues.
I recommend people with intractable issues with Bloor Homes also bring their plight to the attention of the papers like the home section of the Sunday Times.

Awful In Every Way
We purchased a 4 bed detached property on Walpole Meadows, Essex and moved in Christmas 2018.
We still have disputes now and the communal grounds are in a terrible state. Bloor haven't even handed over the site to the maintenance company because they are not willing to take responsibility for the mess they are taking on.
Bloor's attitude is clear...do the bear minimum to every house, 50% they will get away with, 30% they will have to come back and deal with the things that wouldn't pass NHBC and 20% of their customers, who actually want a house finished to a similar standard to what they were sold in the show home, will fight for their rights.
Be very aware that getting a home finished to the standards promised is going to be a 2 year slog of countless e-mails, false promises and meetings with so called senior management, who honestly couldn't run a bath, most people would give up . I am not talking about small snags either, I am talking about chips on worktops, poorly laid amtico flooring, uneven walls, dents in sinks, flooded driveways (which is still a problem now), urine left in the roof space, which gives you an indication of some of the people that work at Bloor, the list really is endless.
If you would like to contact me I can give you a full run down of the issues. I would just like to do my best to make sure they never sell a property again.
Communal areas still not satisfactory and allotments not handed over after 6 years!
Have you managed to sort all your issues out?
My kitchen flooring has an 8 inch cut on it which was obviously caused by some idiot cutting some lino on it they don't want to know. Only moved in December.

Unfinished. Cold. Draughty.
I moved in just over 4 years ago. They wrote to me and visited about 1 year later to tell me they hadn’t insulated it as the contractor let them down. They did a pretend survey a few months later on the hottest October night and then wrote to tell me it’s fine. Well the gates were locked so he couldn’t have got in and didn’t see him on the camera! It’s not. It’s cold and draughty. I bought a new house so I would not have to worry about being cold or draught excluder etc etc. So tonight at 60 years old I’m in my hands and knees taping up the front door. Back door. Patio doors. I’ve had them adjusted numerous times but it’s cheap rubbish. Oh. And we can’t have a bath when it’s consistently cold as the pipes freeze. Don’t buy in Wellington Somerset

Heartbroken - Our Dream House Spoilt By Awful Customer Care
We recently moved into the development at Blythe Valley Park in Solihull. The saleS staff where excellent, the onsite team for snagging and issues were good to a point but now that we have been put under the responsibility of head of customer care they couldn’t care less!
Despite massive issues with our home, for example when the flooring company were at our property to fix down some lifting Amtico flooring, the boss let slip that the reason the flooring was starting to lift was because the floor had been incorrectly sealed before damp proofing. As a result the whole of the downstairs flooring needed replacing (kitchen, hall, utility, downstairs toilet) for several days no-one could walk on the floor so we had to make urgent arrangements for our young children and dog.
We still have some outstanding issues which are spoiling our home and certainly not what we thought we would be having to deal with when we purchased.
Our dream home has been badly tainted by the corner-cutting during construction and now the dreadful customer care.
I would advise talking to some existing residents before buying a Bloor Home to get an accurate view of their experiences.
Q&A
We are thinking about buying a house at Spring Park, Mapperley, Nottingham. Has any one had any problems with their homes that they have bought on this site?
Bloor homes in worsley fold. Anyone who is living there can you please give the reviews?
Have there been any snagging or maintenance charges problems in Henderson Way, Witham, Essex? Thank you
I have a problem with noise travelling between rooms, I've recently retiled the bathroom to find no insulation between the plaster boards. The property is 5 years old, we've always been aware of the noise transfer between cloakroom and lounge and other rooms.
Anyone else had similar issues or challenged Bloor Homes to put right the problem?
Has anyone bought a house on Charnwood Grange, Shepshed? Thinking of purchasing one. Thanks in advance.
Does anybody have any experience of buying on the Fairfield Manor development in Castle Donington? We have been looking at a purchase but am slightly put off by the comments already on this site?
Has anyone had experience with maintainable fees with them? How much are you paying and do all houses in the Development pay the same?
Has any buyer tried to get Bloor Homes to accept a payment schedule that places [15%] of final purchase account being paid by the buyer into an Escrow Account? Say [5%] released on satisfactory completion of Hand-Over snagging list and the remaining [10%] to cover Latent Defects occurring during the 2 year guarantee period and adoption of roads etc. by the Local Authority
They wont do that their standard is to poor. They would never be paid.
We are thinking about buying a Bloor Home in Worsley Fold Manchester. Does anyone have any experience of this development?

I am thinking of buying a home from Bloor Homes on Langforth Farm. Has any one had any problems with their homes that they have bought on this site?
I can only say that our Bloor Home is a disaster of snagging and fighting with the builder. One they have your money they don't care.
