Larnaca International Airport

The worst airport I’ve ever travelled through in over 30 years of international travel. It’s bad coming and going. Getting to your gate is frustrating and disorganized, almost leading to several fights between angry people in line. The lines - one to scan your boarding pass, another to scan your passport at a few kiosks, pouring into another to get through security. Many people missing their flights. You must give yourself four hours to get to the gate to be sure. I have no doubt that it is dissuading travelers from returning. 0 stars.

We nearly missed our flight back to Gatwick Wizz Air had 6 checkouts with the mix of 3 flights, but our flight was going in an hour. The flights for Rome and Bucharest was 2 hrs.

The Airport staff passport and security where absolutely pathetic. They seem to absorb the caous of 1000s of passengers trying to get through the little airside. We had 5 minutes before the gate closed. I'm ashamed to be by parents Greek Cypriot. Monkeys could have done better. Especially Wizz Air the incompetent airline I've ever had misfortune to fly with!!

Hello, I have been living in Switzerland for 30 years, but I do not have Swiss citizenship. I was in Larnaca for tourism in November 2018. It was my worst experience at Larnaca airport. The delay and waiting can be overlooked, but you would have searched my passport more than once, and the treatment of the passport officer at the entry gate was very bad, unacceptable and disrespectful.

Larnaca Airport was built in a hurry during the Turkish war, as the Turks bombed Nicosia Airport. I suppose that's the reason Larnaca Airport's so small, massively over-crowded, and horrible. There are hardly any shops, and when I got a 14hour delay on Cyprus Airways, it was unbearable the amount of people passing by etc. especially as basically no shops to go to. Thankfully there's a new terminal opening on 11th November 2009, and I drove past it and it looks HUGE!!!! I'd say at least 20 times the size of the current terminal!!! It's very modern, and will have loads of shops, and have airbridges which saves having to catch a coach from departures to the aircraft. The new airport looks really nice and I can't wait to travel through it next summer!
