Last Time - Should Be Demolished
From the Hitler type security staff, through the filthy toilets to the rip ridden seating in the waiting areas, this airport has to be on its last legs
They should tear the whole $h1thole down to the ground, fire all of the incompetent, dictatorial staff and start afresh
Been flying in and out of Manchester (among other UK airports for over 25 years, and this place is bar far the worst airport I’ve flown in or out of
It is on the level of some small third world airport and the security would have fit in well at Auschwitz
Certainly my last time flying in or out of this his forsaken hole

Terrible
Manchester airport is not fit for purpose. The check in queue was miles long and getting in the way of everyone else. Security A was closed with no signage directing to elsewhere just a rude woman barking orders at everyone to say go to security B because A is at capacity. At 6am? OK. Going through security you are met by further rude staff barking orders at you. I have no problem with being xrayed however I do have a problem with it being just muslim women that are taken for xray. Discrimination I'd say. Luckily we flew back into a different airport and I won't be travelling from Manchester again in the future.

The Worst Airport For The Disabled
Manchester Airport is without doubt the worst airport on the planet. There is always an issue here. This time, after 2 days of travel, the gel pack keeping my meds cold had finally melted. The security personnel insisted on destroying the unidentifiable substance that was obviously a gel pack and part of my med kit. Really?!!!
Last time it was the wheelchair slalom at security that wheelchairs couldn't navigate, the time before it was the assistance service nearly causing me to miss my flight and the time before that it was assistance delivering me to a massive set of aircraft stairs that I struggled to climb.
Don't be disabled at Manchester Airport. They are not at all helpful. If I can fly into another airport in future I will. Zero out of ten again Manchester!!!

Lost Luggage 4x In Past 2 Years
I have lived in the Manchester area for the past 2 years. In this time, I have traveled through the Manchester airport about 4-6 times per year. During this timeframe, my luggage has been delayed/lost for about 4 times. I have lived in other cities and I have never experienced this many delays/lost luggage in the same timeframe. Also, once my luggage is eventually found, I receive the luggage at least two days if not more. Horrible.

Too Small For The Number Of Passengers Passing Through
As a frequent flyer, I often use manchester terminal 1 due to it being the nearest airport that offers a direct flight to dubai and back (the a380. Unfortunately the return flight causes absolute chaos due to je fligjt carrying so many passengers and yet limited space at the carousels and baggage collection. There is no space to move and results in people pushing and bumping into each other unintentionally. I've visited over 30 airports and this by far is the worst for customer service and efficiency. The e gates often don't work which creates longer queues as there is limited staff at the immigration desks. Atrocious and can only be described as a circus.

Slow And Rude Service!
Security is slow and staff are rude and unhelpful they don’t care if you have been in the que for nearly 2 hours and nearly miss your flight. Allow at least 4 hours arriving at the airport to allow for the managements incompetence to organise and run a n airport. They can’t cope with 5 planes landing at a similar time and have you queued around the airport. Left Palma who were friendly helpful and very organised to land at this excuse of an airport. Signs all over the airport asking you to be respectful to the staff when will they be respectful to their paying customers and sort the place out!
Satisfied.
Hi my wife who needed assistance and i passed through manchester airport on the 14th and the 28th of November and we have to say the service provided was excellent from check in to boarding great service.
Terrible...
Just returned from picking up someone from T2. It took over 2 hours to sit through the pick up process. A total disgrace which sadly mirrors so many other experiences at this airport. It used to be so good and now easily makes the top of the list as worst airport in my voew. Such a shame as wish we could be proud of it.

The Worst Airport In The Country And Probably In The Develop
I avoid Manchester Airport like the plague and will not fly out of it, but yesterday it suited my purpose to fly into the airport from Faro. My passport was rejected on the automatic system and I had to join the ever growing single line to have it physically checked. There was one officer dealing with this line and movement was snails pace. Then he found someone whose passport needed further investigation and off they went. Meantime, about 3 planeloads of people had their passports checked in the four other lanes and were gone. Naturally I complained to the border security officer when I eventually was called forward. He shrugged and said, 'Well, that's the way it is sometimes.' This was typical of the general attitude of staff at this airport and the lack of any organisation and adaptability that stopped me using it years ago. Things haven't changed. Use another airport, take the train, or swim the channel.
My opening sentence demonstrates the general opinion I have of Manchester airpot, having experienced the worst service in any airpot I've used in the world. This latest episode (and my Last) just happens to be Border Control but is symptomatic of my past experience at this dreadful airport.
You do realise that the staff at the Border are not Manchester airport staff, they are Border Agency staff. Your complaint should be directed to them

Great Helpful
To start I had to ask Ryanair staff for help with checking bags as the machine was not working so eventually they printed off the luggage labels, but when I got to security I had lost my paper boarding pass ,a helpful and polite security guard helped me retrieve it on my phone and add a free app from Manchester Airport to connect to WiFi for 4 hours .As I am completely useless on most devices ,I was able to get on my flight without any problems. As I frequently fly out of Manchester I find paying a little more for fast track security makes a big difference
Q&A
We are attempting for the second time in 2 weeks, to fly to Sweden on Friday 13th June, 2014. We never managed to even find check in let alone fly even though we were there with an hour to check in etc. Most staff we asked for help had no idea how to help us or where we needed to go, it was a nightmare. Not even an acknowledgment of our complaint as yet. What are the chances of us finding check in an getting our flight?
Norwegian Air Shuttle have shown no interest in our plight, even though it has so far cost us an extra £350.
Norwegian Air Shuttle fly out of terminal 1. If I were you I would get there at least two hours before the flight departs. Security at Manchester Airport can be extremely slow. Hope this helps.
