Anniversary Of 55 Years
I booked a table of 13 for a 55th anniversary for my parents and wasnt happy with the meal and the service. There were no knives with the staek, the steak wasn't served the way it was required and we wasnt offered any sauces with the meal when it arrived.it is a place we love to come but this really let me down for a party of 13.

What A Joke
visited pub yesterday waiting staff very helpful and friendly; there were ,10 of us dining, some of the food was not available but was enjoying myself anyway as I was with my family. After the meal some of us ordered sweets, shortly after we were approached by assistant manager demanding for us to leave as our table was booked for a family of 30.The manager had a really bad attitude very argumentative her approach very rude and confrontational, we at that point was told to sit in the gardens out of the way and eat our sweets out there What a way to treat customers certainly will not be ever returning there. What school of charm did she get her management training from.

No To Veggies
Having been to this pub on several occasions,Iv never had to write a damming review before,HOWEVER I have started to notice a sever lack of vegetarian/vegan options, till today, So I noted the "Veggi Sizzler" on the specials board, and opted for this, it stated a medley of vegetables on a skillet with tortillas chips and salad. Pretty decent I thought.. Till it came to the table, the skillet was placed ontop of two warm tortillas, and when I came to look at the "medley" of vegetables that had been cooked all it was were chopped onions and mushrooms swimming in half a pint of oil..having taken a few of the onons and mushrooms to eat, the taste resembled of omega 3 fish oil, you know the after taste you get, it was VILE. This dish was taken back having turned my tum several times and leaving me with a nasty taste in my mouth. The staff were shocked but gracious enough to not charge me for my meal. HOWEVER this did ruin the whole pub/restaurant experience for me, and it was fathers day too, So sat drinking water and watching the others tuck into there steaks etc, seems to me that this pub does not like vegetarians, and the options they do put on are NOT what they claim to be .. as they are not cooked properly. VERY DISSAPOINTED

WHOEVER WAS IN CHARGE THIS NIGHT NEEDS TRAINING,SOON.
Hello Could you make us aware on when you visited us here at The Forge as we do take things like plastic found in food very seriously and we can then investigate as I have no record of this so if you would like to contact me we can look into this further. My name is Sarah

Booked A Table For 16 As A Celebration For A Famil
Booked a table for 16 as a celebration for a family birthday. Was told we could have 4 separate tables, which we were ok with (not thrilled but understandably a large booking). Arrived at 1:15 and waited 20 minutes for an order to be taken. 2 people ordered starters, which arrived in 15 minutes. 45 minutes later our meals started arriving. The food is nothing special and the table staff seemed utterly terrified. After finishing our meal, we then waited another 15 minutes to order dessert. The majority of the group ordered red velvet cheesecake whilst the rest ordered various other desserts. 20 minutes after this order, we had a young waitress come out and say that they had run out of red velvet and that we would all have to change our order. We asked for a manager because by this time, we were fed up with 2 fed up children in the party. The manageress came over, seemingly itching for a fight. we explained the issues with the delays etc and her response? -because we had ordered starters on one table, it had delayed the rest of the meal (by 45 minutes?)- even though there were several individual bills , that running out of dessert was typical of marstons and that it was all being done by 1 single person in the kitchens. There was no apology of the sort, her attitude was basically 'tough, you've eaten it and you've got to pay'. I honest thought she was going to ask one of us outside to settle it. We eventually got offered (by a terrified waiter) 20% of each bill and resumed waiting for a pudding. It was another 30 mins of waiting and confusion (2 orders for dessert to take out was delivered on a plate with ice cream twice) we finally all managed to eat our dessert and leave. All in all a terrible customer service attitude for low quality food.
Thank you for the timely response. I do indeed get shouted at in my job, however i do not shout back as i am a professional manager and i think that a bad attitude helps no one or the situation. I think if the waiter was terrified, perhaps he should have mentioned it to his line manager and asked someone else to cover the tables. My grandma was quite upset at the bad atmosphere and no, she didn't shout but she was intimidated by the aggressive attitude shown
I feel that this is not all correct as seen on CCTV you did arrive at 1.30 and food was taken at 1.38. we follow etiquette on people ordering starters and we were told that all of you wanted to eat together so that is what we did. and that is why the remainder of you waited for your mains Customer service may have been bad to you but also do you get shouted at at your job and if so would you have the right attitude back. I feel that all the facts above are not all correct and the waiter was terrified at the time by you and all the shouting that you did here. We all do our job to the best of or ability and will apologise to anyone who has a bad experience but we also will not accept rude, aggressive customers either.

2 For 1 Forget It
concentrate more on quality rather than quantity, good setting for pub but pleasing nobody food wise, would not use again until customer satisfaction improved.
In what way could it be improved
