Front Wheels Too Thin
THIS BUGGY IS DANGEROUS!
If you are considering buying this buggy to push around 2 children, this is not the buggy to buy, it would be a good design if the developers had understood physics and put wider wheels on the front, as it stands, the buggy becomes too heavy and the wheels block, get stuck on slight uneven surfaces, this causes the spokes of the wheels to crack and bend the wheels to breaking point.
The reason I say this is a dangerous buggy:
I have already had quite a few tumbles with both my children in this buggy, this has happened just casually walking on regular city pavements, taking the kids out for the day or to nursery, whilst pushing the buggy at a normal pace, the wheels get stuck and the buggy tumbles forwards and if you are not careful, you tumble over the buggy, VERY DANGEROUS for a pregnant lady, a weaker or elderly pushchair handler.
Please take this seriously.

I Have Only Used This Pram A Handful Of Times But
I have only used this pram a handful of times but is really good, very easy to push and looks very stylish, easy to convert from lie down to sit up.
The basket at the bottom is really useful and fits lots in. easy to fold down and fits into any car. My Daughter loves sleeping in it when out as it is really comfatable.
at first i thought is was unsteady but it is the suspension and it does help baby to rock to sleep, you can also use the carry cot as a moses basket if your sleeping out saves one less thing to bring, all in all a good buy.

We Bought This Pram In 2009 From The M & P Outlet
We bought this pram in 2009 from the M & P outlet shop & our daughter loves it. There is plenty of room for her when she lies flat. She is nearly 2 now & we have never had any problems with it. I've been able to fit a large amount of shopping in the basket, its a dream to push. It fits perfectly in our Peugeot 206. My friend recently had a baby & also bought the Skate pram, she also only has positive reports about it.

My Daughter Is Only Ten Weeks But So Far I Have No
my daughter is only ten weeks but so far i have not had a problem with it.
i did find the skate very expensive but i loved the sturdy looking frame and deep comfy looking cot. the 'rain cover' doesnt actually cover the whole of the pram, and being a shower proof pram is not really enough when it rains as much as it does where i live! you can fit lots of things in the 'basket', plenty of room there.
i do find it a little wobbly though, the carry cot doesnt seem stable on the frame, and i am a bit dissapointed that you dont get a foot muff with it, and the ones i have bought are all too wide for it. And i cant find a sun parasol that will fit the frame!
but, i was aware of all these 'cons' before i bought it, and i still bought it and i love it!

I Bought My Mamas & Papas Skate Second Hand And No
I bought my Mamas & Papas Skate second hand and not long after, I had a problem reclining it. It just wouldn't recline, then I realised the pins in the seat unit kept coming out of the seat unit and sticking in the frame.
I rang Mamas & Papas, I have read they are unhelpful but I don't think so, a few months ago, they sent me replacement parts for a cot I've had 10 years!!
Anyway they sent new pins for the pushchair.
After a mission trying to work out how to get the old ones out (had to hold the reclining bit up and pull the pins with grips) the new ones screw in so stay in place.
It is now everything I want in a pushchair, and as this is my 5th child and I've had on average 6-8 pushchairs for each, it's not a bad result at all.
Easy to wash, great to use, comfortable & not restricting for baby.
It's not very small when folded unless you take seat unit and wheels off and it could do with a footmuff for older babies/toddlers. The one that comes with it is great while using on the pram, but no good when used as a pushchair and universal ones don't accomadate the different straps on the skate.
I love this pram/pushchair and I love Mamas & Papas Customer Service.

This A Awful Buggy, One That Im Now Having Alot Of
This a awful buggy, one that im now having alot of problems replacing, first off the sticky brake!! very inconvenient as it seems to do it even though it could of just been working, now it seems the pin that is on the crib part that clicks into the frame has got stuck in the frame so i cant even connect the car seat, as i do not drive walking is my only means of travel..... im very disappointed with the skate

I Love The Skate Especially In Pram Mode. My Daugh
I love the Skate especially in pram mode. My daughter has always been very comfortable in it from birth to now(20 months old). Pros: no need for separate carrycot, front or rear facing, good suspension, stylish. Cons: Only compatible with mamas and papas car seat which I hated as they are so heavy, no viewing panel in hood and no parasol to fit only a big screen which I didn't want. I personally prefer the baby to lie flat so only used the car seat on it twice when literally popping in somewhere. It seems to be at a reduced price at least a few times a year so get it then rather than full price. This is a large system but I am so pleased I got it over the Bugaboo as still plenty of space. I am looking forward to having another baby so I can put it back in pram mode!

I Thought I Would Write A Review On The Skate Due
I thought I would write a review on the Skate due to the negative comments it seems to be getting. I didn't read any review before I bought my Skate but have found that since looking for a pushchair I have relied on them.
PRO'S
Lovely to push, smooth ride, I have the original model so have air filled wheels at the back which made it a comfy ride for baby.
Basket at the bottom, you can fit a lot of things underneath the pram and you can leave them on when you fold the pram down if you do it in two parts like me. My Mum had to take extra time to empty the bottom of her push chair before she could fold it where as I just left all of my shopping on.
The Hood can be left as it would on the pram making it a handy sun shade for baby.
You can have baby facing you as well as facing out (this was the main reason I bought them pram)
CON'S
The only con I have for this pram is the the original version doesn't go completely flat at the back when it is in pushchair mode which means that when my daughter leans back (at 10 months) she is not completely flat, however she doesn't lie back when she is awake she sits up so this would only be a problem when she slept and even then it is not that bad!
A lot of reviews I have seen also have a lot of negatives regarding the service they received from M&P, I agree that the service is not brilliant, but in some ways they are very helpful. I took my pram back with three faults I thought needed fixing. I was given a hire pram for two weeks while they fixed it (a lot of people were surprised by this as now where else seems to offer this service). The chassis came back scratched and (I thought) in worse condition than when I took it in, so I went back to M&P's, to cut a long story short, they gave me a brand new pram chassis and I have a brand new top too. The moral of this story is do not give up until you are happy with the result, 10 months on I have a brand new pram!

My Daughter And Son-in-law Purchased The Mama And
My Daughter and Son-in-law purchased the Mama and Papas Skate Pram for their Baby earlier this year (2010) I had taken my Grandson out in it several times previously. I did not like the way it felt when pushed. It felt insecure and wobbly. I also found it almost impossible to lift up and down kerbs, its heavy and difficult to manouvre. However worse was to come, I was pushing the poor little lad down a ramp to cross the road, when the whole pram overbalanced. The reason for this was a, the ramp had beed poorly maintained, and b, The Balance and construction of the pram is wrong. The pram should NOT have gone over in the way that it did! My Daughter saw what happened and confirmed my opinion. Luckily the Baby was not harmed, but I was. In trying to keep the pram upright I sustained bruised knees, and pulled the muscles in my ribcage. Two weeks later I am still in pain. It could have been much worse.I am not an old lady and I weigh 10st 6lbs, so its not that I am elderly or frail.
