I received a great service so very surprised to see bad reviews but I suppose people only bother when it's negative, i was warmly welcomed and the assistant was super helpful I only went in for some gloves for my son, they unfortunately didn't have the size in but were happy to order in for me. The stick range they have is superb and the lowest prices I have seen anywhere as I result I left with a long waterproof dog walking coat that I am delighted with, I will be returning for some fell running shoes. If you are wanting good quality with low prices I recommend it.

They sent the wrong item. I ordered a 5cm Vango Adventure sleeping mat. They sent a 3cm one. Big difference in price. I was told that "the pickers had picked the wrong item" . They arranged for item to be collected (within 2 days). Said they would not send correct product until they had received the returned item! What a cheek when it was their mistake! They have debited my account with the money but no goods! Appalling. A week later I've heard nothing about when I will receive the item I originally ordered. Delivery cost £5. I will be requesting a full refund including delivery costs if they are unable to deliver the goods I ordered. They certainly arranged for item to be picked up quick enough. Why can't their delivery be with the same speed! Their website leaves a lot to be desired. I should have taken heed then. I will never use this company again. I will also tell my friends and family not to use them! Cow boy company with useless staff!

website said 1-3 days delivery time. I ordered on bank holiday Friday needing delivery by following Friday. First thing Tuesday morning I checked that this would be possible. I was told 'yes, the package will be with you on Wed or Thursday'.

indeed a package turned up wednesday but only had 1 of the 4 items in it.

When i enquired about the other items I was told they are not yet in stock.

Why was customer services not able to tell me this on Tuesday ??

Apalling. and they were pretty rude to boot !

The prices are good when the items are in stock, but with the past 5 orders I have placed with them where it item is listed as being in stock on their web site it turns out not to be and consequently the orders are cancelled.

There communication is chronically bad.

I ordered a jacket in early December and hadn't received it by the 10th so rang them

kept being put in a queue,rang a total of 5 times and took 40 mins of waiting as no.1 in the queue. Only to be told they were awaiting stock so I asked for the order to be cancelled.

I have just received my mobile bill and the 5 calls to 0844 number have cost me

£16.39!!!!!! I have just sent them a stinking email not that it will do much good.

Please stay away from this company!

I think this company should be made to advise customers that the 0844 number is a premium rate number. After all if they offered a good service there would be no need to ring them.

After reading the reviews on this site, I was understandably sceptical about whether I could trust outdoormania.

HOWEVER!

I called up the lovely people who work there and spoke for a while about what I was looking for, having looked it up online first. They confirmed that they had it in stock and reserved both sizes for me until the next day.

On the following morning my family called up and bought one of the sizes and it arrived well packaged the very next day, which happened to also be a Saturday!

On to my review:

I can't recommend these guys enough; they were so helpful and friendly to me and the prices are incredible. They have a warehouse and shop in Yorkshire and all their items are genuine. I asked them why some of their reviews were poor- the bad ones are mainly regarding items running out of stock after being purchased as the biggest irritance- and they replied that they have only just begun using a stock checker online and it isn't working well enough yet. They do have a banner request when you are ordering (before you pay) asking for you to call them to double check stock, which a lot of people obviously don't bother to do and then get irate because they are told there isn't stock. Read, people!

So my advice when ordering from these guys to ensure happiness and satisfaction for all involved:

1.a) Talk to a person- call them on their freephone number (01484 817456) and stock check. Then either order there or mention your name to look out for in online orders.

1.b) Call in the morning- there's someone answering within moments, it gets a bit busy in the afternoon and after 3.30 is a no-go (phone line closes at 4.)

2) Offer to write a good review if your goods arrive on time and as stated, they will really appreciate this and it will stand you in good stead.

3) Asses sizes- I tried on the items in a local shop (that was retailing the same coat for £50 more!) before ordering- hence reserving two sizes!

4) If you need your order to arrive quickly then let them know why and they'll try to help. If it's over £100 and it states on the item page that next day delivery is available, remind them of this politely just to make sure.

And as an aside:

4) Whenever you buy anything from anywhere, make sure you fully read all on the order page before you proceed- it could have made things a lot easier for some of the other reviewers on here!

Misleading website, 20 minutes wait to speak to customer service, advertise goods in-stock when they aren't.

Had to cancel a holiday because of them.

Avoid at all costs.

They have now taken money from my account for an order which I have already cancelled. Absolutely shameful.

I ordered from this company last year without issue and have since ordered again without issue. On both occasions I have found their service professional and speedy. Their prices are amongst the best I could find anywhere, they have a huge choice and the goods always arrive well packaged and when stated. Very good service that I would definitely recommend.

I cannot think of anything negative to say about this company. I have ordered from this company three times and each time they have impressed me with their speed of delivery, low prices and excellent advice. Whether it's ski clothing or camping kit, their customer services team seem to know the products inside out. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company as one of the best outdoor clothing and camping retailers anywhere on the Internet.

I called for advice which I found to be excellent. They talked me into buying something that I wasn't entirely sure about but the girl knew a lot more about equipment than I do. So I placed the order on her advice. And I'm glad I did. It turned up next day and was way better than the stuff I'd looked at in other shops. Better still it was at a better price. Very impressed with this company, their service and their delivery. Recommended.
