Great Value For Money

Read some of the reviews on this site after I bought this awning but before I had used it and I was a bit worried. I had my eye firmly on cost when making my choice and this was by far the cheapest I found that looked as if it would do the job. Anyway, it has now been in constant use for 3 months on a seasonal pitch and I am delighted with it. At first some water collected on the mud skirts after rain but this was due to my mistake and after adjusting them the problem disappeared. Absolutely no problems with condensation as I make sure awning is aired properly. No rain collecting on roof and I am in the West of Scotland so we see plenty of it! Overall I think this is a fantastic awning for the budget price.

Good Mid Range Awning

Had two Insignia awning now and whilst not the best on the market, in my view they are more than adequate at the price. You do need to ensure they are erected correctly and that the tension of roof and sides are correct. They do need a couple of outings in rain to seal the fabric. The only reason people get water pooling on the roof is due to incorrect assembly. That is not a fault with the awning. Would definitely recommend.

Do Not Buy This Awning

Towsure Insignia Awning - DO NOT BUY THIS AWNING - This awning is cheaply made and certainly not worth the money. Spend a little bit more and buy a decent awning. The old saying 'But cheap, but twice' definitely applies here. When it rained the water gathered on the roof and formed huge puddles which did not drain off. These huge puddles became so big that this resulted in the cheap aluminium poles snapping and my brand new awning collapsing. On contacting Towsure I was dealt with a very rude customer services representative who told me that I shouldn't have used the awning in the rain and obviously I hadn't put the awning up properly and that he was too busy to deal with my case!! After 20 years of caravanning I was extremely insulted by this comment. I would urge anyone thinking of buying this Insignia awning from Towsure to look at other reviews on the internet, as it seems that we are not the only people that has had this problem with water pooling on the roof and the awning collapsing. Towsure will not even acknowledge that there is a problem.

Don't Use In Wind Or Rain

I bought a Towsure Insignia size 13 awning earlier this year and used it once in June. The only problem encountered then was that when it rained, puddles of water gathered on the roof as the material did not seem strong enough to withstand water to allow it to drain off. When I used it a second time in September, the first thing I noticed was the short extension poles for the front valance, which are made of steel, were going rusty. The weather turned windy and rainy and the roof poles, of which there are five, collapsed back inside the main tubes. The clamps on the poles were not strong enough to maintain the tension, and the rainwater gathered as before on the roof which meant manually emptying the pools of water on a regular basis. Eventually with the awning roof poles having to be re-tensioned every 15 minutes or so, one of the hinged pole supports on the centre upright pole snapped off and the awning collapsed. I was using the recommended tie down kit, and that remained in place. I would not advise buying this awning unless there was no wind or rain.

Beware

we have had this awning for two years, bought it after reading favourable reviews.in this time it has only been up four times, the longest a week.every morning the inside of the roof is covered in condensation which has dripped on everything.you cannot see through the windows and they have to be dried because the condensation runs down onto the skirt or ground sheet.every time it rains it runs through the stitching where the skirt is attached and puddles inside.we have complained to towsure, the result a troubleshooting sheet from pyramid who make the awning with a list eg.lift the skirts, use a non-breathable ground sheet (which on most sites now is not allowed),re-proof,use a dehumidifier etc.my reply to that is
