I Went To The Harbour Point Bar & Grill In Carrick
I went to the Harbour Point Bar & Grill in Carrickfergus on Saturday night, for a meal with my husband. When we got inside there was an extremely helpful member of staff waiting to seat us at our table, which by the way was situated right by the window with the picturesque view of Carrick Castle.
The waitress asked us if we would like something to drink, whilst handing us the menus. We ordered a bottle of the House White Wine (Concha Y Toro-Sauvignon Blanc), which the waitress let us taste before placing it onto our table. She then took our meal order; I had the breaded mushrooms to start and the fillet of Roast Salmon for my main. My husband on the other hand had the shoe string potato shrimp for starter and the bacon & brie ciabatta. Within no time our starters where on the table with us. I couldn ' t believe my eyes when it was placed in front of us, it was massive. However, to our amazement we got tucked straight in. The food was unbelievable, the mushrooms were delicious and melted in your mouth. I don ' t think my husband lifted his head once throughout our starters.
After being extremely satisfied with the first course out came the second course. My eyes again 4 the second time widened as I seen the food approach our table, the layout and creativity of the food on the plate as well as the portion size was unreal. Making our way through our meal, the tastes and texture that flooded my mouth were exquisite. The ever so helpful waitress making sure all was well with the meal. I couldn ' t fault it. I was so stuffed but would not and could not let a meal like this be left, so I munched on through.
Finally setting my knife and fork down and leaning back in my chair, the waitress clearing away our empties and handing us a dessert menu. Looking at the menu and rubbing my stomach, I knew there was very little room, but I honestly couldn ' t help myself, the variety of desserts was to die for. So my husband and I settled on sharing the Vanilla Cr me Brulee. After dessert we finished of our wine and then left the restaurant extremely satisfied. We will definitely be back and will be telling all our friends and family about our experience.
We must have picked a day when the Chef was on holiday , as we have just had the most dissapointing lunch we have ever eaten. Poor quality, poor quantity , poor presentation , poor service , and to cap it all they have the cheek to show you it being cooked on a large screen. Do yourself a favour try the steaks in Dobbins , no fancy surroundings but great food and friendly service.
