Quay View Chinese Restaurant, Dundrum, Newcastle, Co Down

Booked a table for four adults for the buffet menu,so they knew we were coming.Food looked as if it had been sitting out for hours, and was cold.Asked nicely to have the food heated up,as any paying customer would expect.The manager started to argue with us that the food was just cooked and wasnt cold. I explained that i was not willing to accept cold food,he was nasty and uncooperative, no apologies!!!Will not be back,Food sub standard, and will advise all my friends who order regularly from the carry out menu not to eat or order from the Quay View again!!! Worst chinese meal i have ever had!!!!

Good meal. Waitress was really nice, and helpful. Very relaxed atmosphere. Food was served quickly, and was very nice. I will eat here again.

We received a good welcome this evening and were seated in the first floor restaurant with had the added bonus of a fantastic view over Dundrum harbour. We felt very rushed to make our choices from the menu, so stalled the waiter by requesting a round of drinks and prawn crackers, which arrived very quickly. We ordered our starters and mains and then requested the waitress's recommendation for our 5 year old son's main course - she said he could only eat from the European menu. Our son is a big fan of Chinese food and had been looking forward to noodles all day, so we asked for a half portion of chicken chow mein instead. She said no, "he" wouldn't do it, but after some persuading she agreed to go and ask "him". "He" confirmed "he" wouldn't do it. We felt we had no choice but to abandon our plans to eat at the restaurant and settled our drinks bill and left. A quick calculation suggested the restaurant lost out on over £60 of trade that evening.
