Have Been To This Pub Several Times On A Sunday (o
Have been to this pub several times on a Sunday (only because its local to us) and each time we have been disappointed with the attitude of the Manager (Chris) 1st time we went my partner wanted lamb but was told they had run out of lamb this was at 14:10, the next time we went we again wanted lamb but was told they had sold out - this was a little later at about 16:30 as the manager was walking past my partner called him over to ask him to maybe consider ordering more lamb and his response was to say we need to get there earlier - when I said we came several weeks previously just after 2 pm he said that they try to get rid of all the roast by 4pm !!! note to manager - listen to your customers they can make or break your business - we then went again yesterday at 5:30 (3 of us this time)and we were made to feel very unwelcome was told that they had no roast dinners and we would have to order off the menu - after sitting at our table for 10 minutes and no one coming over to us we decided to leave and we went to the Beeches restaurant in Hampton-in-Arden just 3 minutes up the road - we were made to feel very welcome and had a lovely meal there (we each had 2 courses) a bottle of wine, 3 glasses of port and a coffee for just over £65 if you want a really good meal forget the Boat as the manager is gormless and hasn't got a clue about customer service,go to the beeches they are very very accommodating and the food is far superior at not much extra cost - we will not be going back to the boat again!!
Went yesterday after booking a table for 1.30, was told the meals would be about half an hour, drinks arrived after 15 minutes, food an hour later, fish pie was nice but not an adult portion, veg was terrible looked like it was prepared the day before, My daughters chips were over cooked. Service was awful as not enough staff. Would not recommend this pub to anyone.

We Went On A Saturday Night And Had To Wait For A
We went on a Saturday night and had to wait for a table but the staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. Considering how busy the place was were recieved our food fairly swiftly. The atmosphere was very good and I'd recommend this place to anyone as well as head back there anytime. I saw one review say £3.10 for a bitter, disgrace. Ask the price at the bar and if its out of your price range go to a Weatherspoons you cheap skate. We found that it was a little pricey but you certainly get your moneys worth.

After Waiting To Be Seated Was Told Just Find An E
After waiting to be seated was told just find an empty table. After quite a wait our order of four different Sunday roasts was taken with the drink order, 30 minutes later we had to prompt the waiter to remember our drinks, after a couple more minutes the waiter returned with the news that drinks were on the way but all the roast dinners were off. Left in disgust a complete waste of my time, will never try eating there again.

Four Of Us Went To The Boat At Catherine-de-barnes
Four of us went to The Boat at Catherine-de-Barnes on Friday evening. Unfortunately bookings were only available for a party of 8 or more. We arrived at approximately 7-45pm and the restaurant was full, we were told we would have to wait about half an hour but within fifteen minutes a table became vacant. Our orders were placed pretty swiftly with the staff who were pleasant but it was 45 minutes before we were served. We were disappointed with the quality of the food, the time we had to wait for the food and the overall appearance of the restaurant.
Sounds like the boat. Great for a drink but the food is no better than average. Staff always ask if everythings ok shortly after serving but best not to complain as nothing will be done. Never seen a manager there
PS Avoid fish pie and Ceasar salad at all costs
