Market Drayton, Wharf Tavern at Goldstone Camping

This was great as I thought it is cheap, nice and clean and staff were cheerful!

Would definetely recommend this place to others. Really nothing to complain about

My Husband, son (6) and I arrived for a three night stay at Goldstone campsite in July 2011, we wee impressed by the scenery and situation of the site, it had a lovely pub across the road which served hot food (a little pricey) but all of the staff were very friendly and keen to help. the pub also had a small children's play area and small grassed football play area. the shower and toilet facilities were small but very clean 24 hours a day, and were situated next to the pub.

The only down side we found with the site was the septic tank was pretty smelly, so i would advise you camped as far away as possible from it.

all in all a definite site we will return to for peace and quiet.

Just had a few nights there and liked the site very much, only downside was the shortage of toilet and washing facilities, only two w/c`s and two showers for men and only one w/c and one shower for ladies.Food and service in public house was excellent and staff very friendly nothing seemed to much trouble,will stay there again at some time in the future.

We were a bit disappointed at the lack of showers and wc at Wharf Tavern at Goldstone, you could use loo during pub hours but had to go into the pub,we did not like this, so used our own facilities.

Never the less it was a lovely site well maintained, and the pub was very busy, staff friendly and helpful,food was good and plentiful, served by friendly polite staff, the barman was a real character, owners very pleasant.

Overall a good 8 nights, we are going back next summer.

Wharf Tavern at Goldstone Camping is a good site,good food, good choice of trad ales . alot of work going on to bring this site up to date,has the makeing to be atop site when work is done.new toilt & shower blocks being built when we stayed there one to look out for.

A group of us booked a couple of night's camping on one of the adjacent fields at wharf tavern and on the Friday night ate at the pub. It was very very busy and the staff seemed very stressed. The menu was limited and fairly expensive. we found the food below average and certainly not good value for money. The most memorable event concerned one of our group. She ordered fish and chips. When the meal arrived it was just fish. It took some time to get the waitresses attention. When she asked about the missing chips she was informed that a bowl had been placed on the adjacent table where part of the group were seated. These chips had now been all consumed. The waitress refused to get anymore and diappeared into the kitchen muttering that troublemakers should eat elsewhere. We did not eat there the second night

The campsite had only one toilet for two fields of caravans and tents
