Studland, Corner Cottage

Just back from a great long weekend at corner cottage in Studland. The cottage itself is very old fashioned, even kind of retro. I thought it was fab, but others may think it's more like your grans house. Anyway the cottage was very clean and had a nice old feel to it. Great location within a few minutes walk to the beach. Beds were comfy and clean. The only reason I didn't give it more stars was the fact that the shower was terrible. It was always ice cold and if anyone ran the taps the shower cut off. The cottage is by no means luxury but I thought it was fabulous. ( please sort the shower out and ill be back again). Owners are lovely and helpful. Great place if you have dogs.

We have had holidays in Corner Cottage annually since 2008 and love it. It is very well appointed with lovely views and easy off the road parking. Always spotlessly clean and comfortable. Our children love the house and dogs are also welcome. It has a convenient porch around the kitchen back door for storing all our beach paraphernalia . It is an ideal family holiday house. Wifi has been installed to our families delight.

We, a party of eight adults, have just had a most enjoyable week in Corner Cottage to celebrate a family birthday. We particularly appreciated its location in the centre of the village, close to the well stocked store/PO and within six minutes walk of the beach and hostelries, the ample parking (4/5 cars), the wonderful sea and rural views and the BBQ on the patio.

Despite our large party there was ample room for ten of us to sit around the large dining room table and plenty of glasses, wine and otherwise, cutlery and crockery and an efficient Bosch dishwasher.

The property could do with a bit of a facelift internally but we understand that this may be in hand. Once done this will be very much a five star property but for the present we grade it 3+ stars. The owners were very welcoming hosts and we much look forward to returning next June."

We have just had the most fabulous week in Studland staying in Corner Cottage. The cottage is very homely and fitted our large family and 2 dogs comfortably. The house itself although perhaps a little dated was very clean and spacious and certainly met our needs. Standing at the kitchen sink looking out to sea made washing up almost a pleasure! There is internet available which was great for two of our children studying for exams. The area is stunning and has so many fabulous great places for walks and bike rides across the heath, in the forest and up on the downs to Old Harry Rocks. Sitting on the terrace having breakfast in the sunshine was a pleasure The owners were charming and couldn't have been more helpful with information on the area.

We will definitely be booking again for next year.

This studland, corner cottage was situated in a beautiful location with fantastic views, and that is where the good news ends. The cottage was badly maintained and had to be cleaned thoroughly on arrival. Paint was peeling from the walls, the duvets and pillows had seen better days and the whole place was in need of renovations. By the end of the holiday, the emersion heater had stopped working, so the owners lit the Rayburn for us. We spent the last two days without the emersion and a Rayburn that would not stay lit, hence hot water was a bit hit and miss. Never have i visited a holiday cottage so badly maintained, and i've visited a few! If you want a comfy, cosy holiday cottage, steer clear of this one!!!
