Forbidden City, Knaphill, Woking

Service very slow. Took an hour for the duck to come out after starters were cleared away and only after having to ask 3 times how much longer it would take. After duck it was another 40 minutes until main courses arrived. We left the restaurant at 11.30pm straight after main courses as no time for dessert or coffee. Completely ruined my evening as I had suggested it to my work colleagues for my 'leaving do'. Won't be visiting again.

Only problem is the minimum order of £13 that takes some eating if there is only one ordering.

We like to eat at this restuarant as often as we can as the food is superb and cannot fault it, I have paid much more and got much less elsewhere and have recommended this place to many friends who have all been equally impressed.

Service can be slow when very busy but have found the same in any other restaurant but the food is worth waiting for.

Going again tonight and very much looking forward to it.

The Forbidden City is located in the Broadway at Knaphill in Surrey. It has an eat and much as you like set price menu which is more expensive on Fridays and Saturdays. The food is excellent quality and value but the restaurant struggles to cope when it gets busy. We waited nearly an hour for our main courses. The staff are friendly and try breally hard. One slight word of warning whilst the food is good value the drinks are pricey and twice in our last 4 visits we have either been overcharged for our drinks or had drinks on our bill that were not ours. It is imperative you check your bill. Despite these shortfall provided you are not in a hurry we can strongly recommend eating here.
