Not Fit For Purpose

Ordered 3 pairs of made to measure curtains . They arrived with DHL early which I was very happy with however only 1 of the 6 curtains is usable. The headings are all sewn up so I cannot pull the cords. Two cords have broken & 2 more would break with little effort. I returned them to my local store to show them the problems who in turn took photos & set up a complaints/return process. They agreed that the headings were wrong. I was told by store & later in day by phone (customer services) that I would be contacted within 24 hours which has now passed. I had already dumped my old curtains & have guests arriving in 4 days! Old sheets at windows? Extremely disappointed. Frustrated with lack of care in checking the order before being dispatched.

I ordered made to measure curtains for 2 bedroom windows that are not a standard size for ready made..

Firstly they were delivered , without any correspondence and left on the door step whilst we were on holiday, luckily a neighbour noticed and took them in

They were not cheap at over £600.

The curtains for the larger of the two windows , although not to exact specifications worked.

The ones for the smaller window however are way too wide , in fact they wider the ones for the bigger window.

They are over 70cms more that specified, and as measured for full gather are just way too big.

I thought the whole point of made to measure and the extra cost involved was so they fitted!

I have spent 5 weeks , numerous phone calls to customer services, and resorted to driving to the shop they were ordered from twice as they never answer their phone.

I have sent photos in twice, as requested only to be told to-day after 40 minutes on the phone having been cut off and having to go through the whole process with another person, that these photos have never been sent to the made to measure department, due to the way their system works.

The customer services agent today spoke to me in a very condescending manner.

I have now been told it will be escalated to the made to measure department again, this is the same as on the last 5 occasions.

I am being told the only person that can authorise a refund or new curtains to be made is the made to measure department who have bounced me two generic emails during the process over the last 5 saying they cannot be held responsible as there is no fault.

They clearly state in their returns policy, you are entitled to a refund on made to measure items if not made to specifications with tolerance of 1cm

I think they would be advisable to read the policy.

I am now left with a pair of useless curtains , and no recompense to replace them.

Secondly it has been the worst customer service experience I have ever experience, and one I really hope I never have to experience again.

My advice , avoid at all costs.

Appalling

Ordered curtains in store 4 pairs exact measurements given. Waited 4 wks. ALL curtains had been made with extra width. Some of up to 80 INCHES extra! Returned to store. Refund eventually given.

Re ordered on line exact measurements given.

3 pairs arrived as ordered.

4th pair made up INCORRECTLY another 12 INCHES added to each curtain width!

Tried numerous times to phone on number given!! COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. CUTS OFF!

sent e mail. NO RESPONSE!

RANG Dunelm store @ Erdington. There operator gave me SAME number to ring as I had already tried explained this to her & she then says well they're closed until Monday..

I would not recommend this company for curtains on line or in store. A complete fiasco with NO APOLOGY & as the customer, just given the RUNAROUND. No respect whatsoever. Bunch of Charlatans!

These curtains were/ARE NOT CHEAP. BUT JUST A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME MONEY & EFFORT. OBVIOUSLY whosoever makes them up cannot follow the measurements given.

Made To Measure.

Why offer a made to measure service when you will only make curtains to your specifications dependant on the length of the curtain rail? I know what width/length curtains I wanted but couldn't have them because..

a) you wouldn't make the size I want to fit a large bay window and

b) my curtain rail was deemed to be too long..???

Judging from some of the reviews I'm quite relieved that circumstances prevailed.

Very Badly Made Curtains

Lovely pattern and colour but bad making up of the fabric.

I bought two pairs for my lounge. I had to return one pair as they were wavy down one edge.

The replacement was a little better but we’re about an inch different in length.

They need to replace the firm that makes them with a better manufacturer.

I would have willingly paid more for better sewn curtains.

Dunelm Curtains Fiasco

Placed order - nearly £1500. For made to measure curtains. Until this thought highly of Dunelm, helpful, seemingly well trained and informed staff we thought.

Told 1st december for delivery to branch and 4th December for fittting.

It is the 3rd today and yesterday they began chasing us to place the order. Pointed out it should already have been delivered to their store ready for fitter on Monday.

Now been told order not placed, our fault.

Pointed out they’ve got the money - how could there be no order.

Having read above bad reviews on this site -we are really worried - we are pensioners and it was a big decision to spend this sort of money on curtains. Keep you fingers crossed we get a better outcome than many other people seem to have had

Absolute Rubbish Curtains / Don’t Waste Your Money

I ordered two sets of made to measure curtains for two small windows and was shown a pair in the shop as to how they would look. When I picked up my curtains and opened them , I thought it was a mistake as they had sewn two pieces of material together, so you have a great big seam down the middle, they look awful, I rang up and emailed some photos over , as I wanted them remade without the seam , but was told to check the small print and that’s how they make the curtains.

I have been to an independent seamstress and she agreed that they are poor quality and wrongly made . I spent £400 on curtains that look like I’ve stitched together myself. My advice to anyone who thinks about buying ready made curtains from Dunelm, don’t bother , go else where, they are rude and unhelpful and unwilling to put right their poor workmanship.

Quote dates exceeded, and then order was incorrect, and sizes were wrong.

Demanded full payment in advance. Paid extra for professional measuring and fitting. When delivered, the order was incorrect, and items were missing. All the measurements were incorrect. They re-measured, and two further weeks later we were told that the chosen material was no longer available.

When measuring, existing swags and tails were taken down, and never replaced, leaving existing curtains an eyesore.

Finally, cancelled and received a refund.

Disaster from start to finish.

Would Never Buy On Line From Them Again.

Disgusting company nothing short of sham have been fighting for a 35.00 refund after returning goods to store from on line buying.

Same exscuse every time then to be informed they won't issue a refund but I can have a 5.00 voucher.

I will get my money one way or another .
