Red school driving and their drivers are a bad they took money from people and not returning them back . He instructure first giving the confirmation of booking and then cancelling the class by putting in status that student cancel the class and then company not returning the money. I got all the proofs that instructor saying that he wouldn’t be able to give class and then showing in status student cancel . After all this no one is picking up phone. That’s whole company is bad so be aware of these companies

My Trainer Wasn't Even Qualified To Train!

I paid a lot of money to do the training course, which I was told was all I would pay as Red would supply training and materials. Part 1 is all online, Part 2 was ok to be fair, part 3......well I am now one of their PDI's on the road, the training I received has been so bad, the trainer had to keep calling another trainer to ask what to do, I called training department to be told that my trainer is a good trainer and if I want more training I need to pay another trainer their hourly rate, absolutely rubbish, now I have spent another £1240 to get training put right!

Waste Money. Training Is Shocking

the training is ridiculous and a waste of time. For the part one theory test you are left to your own devices

For part 2 I was only given 10 hours of instruction before my driving test which was rushed and cut short most days. There was also more talking things through than there was driving.the instructor was also very rude and no help at all

Trainee Adi

I joined RED 1 years ago to become ADI. Was give so much information which turned out to be all lies. Made the biggest mistake paying £2,400. Do NOT trust these people all they want is money.

I've Been With Red For A While And Initially Paid

I've been with Red for a while and initially paid £4000. PLEASE BE WARNED. They charge you crazy money for training that is rubbish. They give you EMPTY promises and are very RUDE. They get you to pay and never keep their side of the promise. Please be CAREFUL. Do not believe the reviews with 4 or 5 stars as these are written by staff in the college.

They will leave you without completing the course and blame everything on the company being in administration in 2010. Please let me know if anyone else has had same problem. We can then take it further together.

I am sorry you have suffered as i did.

Exactly my situation. When I had to discontinue my training, very early on, they pointed to the agreement to refuse reimbursement. Then when I have gone back to them this year they want more money because they frittered away my monies, went into liquidation. NO ONE SHOULD TRUST RED

Disreputable And Untrustworthy

I had the misfortune to sign up for the Red Driving School to train as an instructor when I was unemployed and at a low ebb. They took my money and then I failed my part II examination and that's where the support ended.

I attempted to get reimbursed since I was told simply to go away, keep practicing and retake the test. No reimbursement permitted - haven't you read out T&C.

I had a postcard through the post remiinding me of how much I could earn as a driving instructor with Red, called the number on the card - all operators busy and so left details- no one bothered to call back - Red Driving School's attitude stinks.

John Venn contacted me by e-mail telling me how much it now costs to train as an instructor with them to which I repleid that I had already paid and wanted to restart my training - e-mail now unavailable.

Please Please find a reputable driving school to train as an instructor with and thererfore I strongly advise you to train with an alternative provider. If this is the way they treat potential instructors think what they are doing to you if you want to learn to drive with them. They do not care.

After having signed up to RED and passed my part I then failed my Part II test, that was where RED's very limited support ended. It was a case of get on with the practice and we'll see you for Part III training when you've passed the part II. All training on the mainland, none on the Isle of Wight so plenty of extra expenses. When I sought to pull out of the training I was told no refund was possible. I then started to receive postcards from RED. Now these postcards looked like they were from "RED". The deal I had was that you paid up front and then there was nothing else to pay. no matter how many times you attempted to pass. I enquired further on receipt of the postcard and was being told of the costs that were involved to train as an instructor. I discovered that RED had gone into liquidation and I was being approached by the new "RED". Clearly it was OK to have my details from the old RED and pursue me to spend more of my money whilst the OLD RED ahad scarpered with my £3,500. Since the company is in the hands of those who formed part of the old RED and who acted dishonorably by forming the NEW RED and wiping their debts off, where does that leave me. My advice to anyone thinking of training with the NEW RED is to go and find an honest Driving School but whatever you do DON'T SPEND ANY MONEY OR TRAIN WITH THE CURRENT DRIVING SCHOOL THAT GOES UNDER THE NAME RED (DRIVING SCHOOL)

Red. I Got Want I Wanted

I'm with RED and coming to the end of my first year.

Training is good. Working with them is good

I always get a full diary, if I lose a pupil with test pass then they always replace them.

£30,000 if hard to earn but it is possible, I think I earned £25k working 30-40 hrs. People who don't like these off must be asking for the earth,

Thank You Red

Ive just completed my course with RED and all I can say from personal experience was that it was a great course! the structure was perfect, trainers were perfect and the all round service was perfect!

Dont be put off by negative press (which i think..correct me if im wrong) was about the previous company who owned RED.

im now going to join the driving school for 12 months then will have a think about going out on my own.

Thank you for all that helped me

I am considering joining Red but have my concerns from the old press stories and peoples comments putting me off. How long did it take you to pass? They are saying to me 6 -9 months aswell as me still working full time?

Scammers & Confidence Tricksters - Avoid!

Daylight robbery - plain & simple! Just under £7,000 for a box of 4 books and promises of £30k a year "after their comprehensive training course"..What they fail to mention is if you are unable to get past test 1 with DSA then they will chase you for their £7k of flesh, wrecked a marriage and put me into Debt Relief Order but still paying as they persuaded my mother to be guarantor (and as she hasn't driven for 15 years and on a pension I doubt she will finish off the course instead of me!) Barclay Partner Finance still chasing but have seen the light and withdrawn from financing nowadays..... If you're reading this and still contemplating joining them...Please take 2 minutes and simply Google "Red - Learn to be a Driving Instructor COMPLAINTS" and if you still think we may be bluffing - try Watchdog or Dom Littlewood! I wouldn't even wish them on my worst enemy!! BE WARNED - STEER CLEAR!

I no how you feel they persuaded me to get a third party to get the loan for me(my mother in law)Barclay's are chasing her for there money and have even got a debt collection agency to threaten her with sending people around to get the money this is very frightening for a woman who is 73yrs old and only her pension for income.

the thing is I have paid the loan back but they are after there excessive interest.

Money-grabbing Scam

They take your money, provide poor service, not as they promised, then refer you to the small print as a two-fingered gesture, should you dare to ask for a way out to suit both sides. I feel cheated, very cheated, but I signed the contract, so they get nearly £3k from me, and I get .... nothing! Avoid at all costs - I have persuaded one friend who was about to join them to cancel, and shall continue to tell people to avoid RED until I am satisfied that at least 10 people change their minds or RED call to offer a compromise. Someone from there called me today, to chase my part one, and I tried to tell him what had happened, and he couldn't get off the phone quick enough - obviously they need instructors, he wasn't calling me as a service, but for their own means.

Apologies this is a repeat post to one I mistakenly placed under the forum for RED driving lessons, not having seen this category.

Want to be a driving instructor? Do your research, avoid RED and their hard sell approach.
