Stop The World Cafe - Leigh-on-Sea

A fabulour place full of old world charm and accompanying relics. I have been there on a number of occasions, always at the weekend but at different times and it has always been busy. Once through the door you are greeted immediately and informed how long you will have to wait for a table, if one is not free. If they say just a few minutes, they mean it! Cakes look great and taste just as good. Portions are big if you go for a slice of one of the large cakes, so if you haven't the appetite for a full one, consider sharing. All tea is served in tea pots with tea leaves and accompanying strainer. Service has always been swift and on the rare occasion they do forget something the response has been immediate. At Stop the World you really can relax, this restaurant goes out of its way to ensure you have a good experience. This is a great place to go with or without children (they offer child portion drinks and cupcakes).

I have only ever visited for tea and cake so I cannot comment on the main lunchtime menu, however, it has always been packed, so I imagine that it's equally as good.
