I Never Have A Problem With The Internet Connectio
I never have a problem with the Internet connection but the email service is diabolically inconsistent, and when it is going wrong, you have to threaten them with cancelling the contract because the service is "not fit for purpose" before they admit anything is wrong! And then they STILL don't tell the poor sops on the Help Desk that there is a problem behind the curtain. Indeed, it is just about every day now that I have problems logging into the POP server to get my email via Outlook. (It "only" used to be every month or so, if that wasn't bad enough.) The blighters tried to blame the problem on Outlook, of course, but it isn't that - I download my mail from the gmail account with no problems whatsoever.
Nor does it help that they use an overseas Help Desk service with staff who have such heavy accents it can be difficult to understand what they are saying, and the clarity of their phone lines makes it all even worse.
So, if you really want to use Freeserve/Orange, because they are cheap, forget their email service - it stinks.

Very Poor Technical Advice, Rude Customer Service,
Very poor technical advice, rude customer service, long telephone connection delays, inefficient billing and take it or leave it approach. I'm leaving!
Poor inaccurate technical advice has led to an unneccessary & expensive call out by a computer technician (£90) and refusal to reimburse me. Lies & inaccuracies followed.
Started well but the service has deteriorated badly. Will be pleased to find a more caring & efficient provider.

I Have Been With Freeserve For 5 Of The Past Six Y
I have been with Freeserve for 5 of the past six years and found Anytime quite good. I would not repeat the year that I defected to AOL ! I took a sledgehammer to remove it all from my system! Very exclusionist in my view.
Just gone to Wanadoo Broadband and so far so good.
Having Been With Freeserve For 4 Years I Wanted To
Having been with Freeserve for 4 years I wanted to upgrade to broadband. Since Freeserve became Wanadoo, Doo Doo is what you get. I have been so disappointed in the so called service, so many phone calls have not got around the major problem of signing up for broadband. One part of the company doesn't know what the other is doing. They are so far out of their depth in this very competitive market they have blow it for me after years of good service with Anytime. I recomend to anyone now they look elsewhere in trying to get online.
Freeseve Are Really Bad. The Service Is Slow
freeseve are really bad.
The service is slow and their broadband service can not even be described as a service as most people can't get it to work. when they do they find it is capped lower than any other broadband provider!
I have had broadband via freeserve for over 12 months and have encountered no problems with their service. The service provided has been first class!!!

Ive Been With Freeserve For A Few Years Now And Iv
Ive been with freeserve for a few years now and ive never had any major problems
I had there anytime service which was good
and now i use freeserve broadband which is fast
(Bloody Fast), and always on. never been any interuptions while ive been on. (which is quite alot)
Well my freeserve broadband ain't that good. Although it's fast when it works 4 out of 5 pages come up "page cannot be displayed". clicking refresh will normaly then load the page.
It never did this on my old dial up connection.
After much reading in several forums it would appear this is not an uncommon problem with Freeserve Broadband.
What is iritating is that no one seems to be able to get an answer from the tech support.

I Have Used The Freeserve Anytime Service For A Fe
I have used the Freeserve Anytime service for a few years now and I am very happy with it. The access is good and if you have difficulties, the help line staff will usually give you a couple of different numbers to try (18 months ago the story was a bit different - if you needed access between 7pm and 10pm you had to wait ages to get a connection). One tip is to make sure you keep the old account access telephone numbers available - from time to time, Freeserve alter the numbers. When the majority of users switch over the old numbers can end up giving better access (if they are kept live by Freeserve).
Freeserve is the dodgiest ISP ever. They offer nothing but unlimted e-mail accounts, but who uses lots - for only £5.99 try BT Yahoo! Internet with better features.
