Very Poor Quality

I bought these boots thinking that the stitching included the entire sole. Wrong! the two layers of the sole are glued. Three days on the Pennine Way in wet weather had the layers parting company and my feet were sodden. This was the first time they had been given tough terrain.

Absolutely agree with this review. Do not buy Brasher CountryMaster Boots if you actually intend to use them for walking on the Hills in wet weather for more than a few very brief occasional annual trips. The cushion layer above the Vibram soles break down after no more than a couple of hundred miles of use. I had a pair replaced but the second pair have done exactly the same. Still arguing with the retailer who try to deny there is anything wrong with them. Very disappointing.

Brasher Boots Manufacturing Problems

I have had two pairs of Brasher boots where the glue between the two layers of the sole have parted due to poor workmanship. Never purchase a walking boot which has layered soles. You are better off purchasing a Harkila boot - everything a Brasher is not.t

Worst Boots Ever

Bought these boots thinking they would be better in the long run being more expensive than the boots I normally buy Hi-tec, how wrong was I?

They are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn, and I include my steel toe cap working boots, unhelpful retailer says that they cant take them back for refund because I wore them outside? should have worn them around the house I was told? it wasn't slippers I wanted.

Very Poor Quality

I received my third pair of Brasher Hillmaster GTX boots mid April 2013 and deposited them in a Spanish bin May 2014. In my opinion thirteen months for boots at this price is a complete rip off.

My first two pairs of the Mark 1 were very good but the "improved" and Chinese built Mark 2 is not of the same quality.

In both of the new boots the leather cracked and they were no longer waterproof, then the rubber and leather parted company on one.

Need less to say their customer support trotted out the usual platitudes but basically accept no responsibilty for their poor quality product.

Worst Boots I've Ever Owned!

These boots are terrible, especially considering the price of them. The grip is appalling so leaves you with no confidence when walking in wet weather. The leather also ripped and tore very easily in rocky conditions. I would not recommend these to anyone.

Brasher Hillmaster Walking Boots

My boots are comfortable but certainly not suitable for fell walking. There is no grip on the soles and they are really dangerous on wet surfaces. OK if you just want to walk in the dry on the flat, but rather expensive when a pair of cheap trainers would do. I've since bought Hi-Tek V-Lite ion-mask boots with vibram soles. A superior boot and much cheaper.

Great Brand, Now Badly Manufactured.

I am returning the Brasher boots I recently got, despite the apparent comfort of the fit as on examination at home they are obviously seconds. Further investigation reveals that the boots nowadays are made in China. The extremely haphazard stitching internally, mismatched pieces of leather and wonky bulging tongue on one of the boots, plus areas where the bonding of sole and upper looks bumpy rather than smooth, all lead me to conclude that quality control is the problem. And they retailed at £145! Fortunately I purchased via a well known and dependable retailer who will assuredly give me my money back! I wish I had read the reviews here first before bothering!

Probably My Favourite Pair Of Brasher Yet!

I have bought over time many brasher boots and shoes and I think honestly this is my absolute favourite pair yet.

They are extremely comfortable and I often find it rather difficult to find boots that I am happy to do long distances in. The retailer I purchased from were extremely helpful and were able to help me decide on which pair of boots would suit me best.

Having taken these through some hillwalking and general trekking I would have no problem in recommending people to pick up a pair.

The only down side I thought was the price however when I picked them up they were on offer so all round nothing I can complain about.

I have the Hillmaster GTX in a suede finish and cannot get used to not polishing or cleaning them with something when they are dirty. I know I can't use shoe polish, but what should I use?
