Great Food. Quiet, Good Location, Nice Rooms, Sham

Great food. Quiet, good location, nice rooms, shame about spanish pillows!. Have been there 5 times now and will go back again in May and am taking my sister who lives in Canada ....so watch this space for her comments!. Need more seating if you go over to the Levante, if you don't go over there and take in the entertaiment at the Levante Park a little more variety needed, but nice when it happens. Bring back the true spanish flamenco evening! What happened in Sept: 2008, where did the flamenco go? We always come back, the food is excellent and the walking flat !!!!!!

We Have Just Got Back From Two Weeks At The Levant

We have just got back from two weeks at the Levante Park hotel (first two weeks in July) and would score this hotel at 9/10. A few picky things stop it from gaining a full 10/10. Firstly, it must be explained that the Lavante Park hotel and the Lavante Hotel need to be considered the same as guests can use all the facilities of each hotel. The indoor pool, sauna and steam room were closed at the Lavante park but I believe these were open in the Lavante Hotel. Space near the pool at the Lavante Park is somewhat limited and you have got to get up really early to get a parasol but you can always use the Lavante Hotel pool and terrace, its 'sun deck '(3 floors up overlooking the sea where 3 large sails offer some shade), failing that you can cross over the one-way street from the Levante Park through the Levante Hotel complex and onto the beach. A couple of loungers and a thatched parasol costs just over 10 euros a day and worth it. The beach is not exclusive to the hotel so beware screaming kids etc. The beach has 3 man-made bays, which create calmer and warmer water, you can pretty much go anywhere within these bays and still touch the bottom. There is lots of seaweed however but there are areas where you can see through the water to the sand but these are mainly accessed by climbing over a few rocks.

Transfer time is approx 1 hour, our coach was for 'Levante' guests only (Levante Park Hotel, Levante Hotel and Grand Sol Hotel), all 3 hotels are in spitting distance of each other so no laborious dropping off at many hotels along the way. Day trips are mainly to markets, big evening shows (some costing over 100 euros each) and tours of the island, sadly I can't comment on any of these.

Back to the actual hotel, the rooms are kept very clean, the usual white walls and pine furniture. All rooms have aircon (might be seasonal) we noticed it didn't seem to work properly in the middle of the night, possibly the changeover from power sources (hotel has many solar panels on roof). Nearly all the rooms overlook the pool/sea with private balconies and have a mini bar/ fridge. The rooms do have safes; they cost approx 25 euros for two weeks. Staff at both hotels and the Thomson team are all very helpful, well presented and polite. Breakfast and dinner are both buffet style (hot and cold), I'm a picky eater but there was always something I liked. There was only one evening when both my partner and myself agreed that we weren't impressed with the selection, we did plan on eating out most evenings and using the hotel dinner as a last resort but we ate every meal in the hotel as the food is very good indeed. Free drinks are not provided for the evening meal, you are expected to buy off their drinks menu. Although the waitresses are all lovely, plates do not get cleared away quick enough, we heard a number of fellow residents mumble this, not the end of the world but it does get a bit annoying as the tables aren't exactly big.

There's simple entertainment throughout the day, i.e. Quiz, quoits, boules, dancing. Evening entertainment consists of one chap every night sat at his keyboard, lovely chap don't get me wrong but doesn't exactly get your feet tapping or you pulse racing. One guest described the entertainment to me as 'suitable for the over 80' she was cruising through his fifties himself but point definitely taken. Some nights a couple of the Thomson team sing along too but realistically, its not much of an improvement. I believe the Levante has slightly better entertainment (which you can freely use) but we decided to have a few drinks by the pool and then retire to our room and read or watch TV ( BBC channels). During the first two weeks of our stay we were by far the youngest (34 & 40) most people (all Brits) were in or about retirement age, the second week brought in a more varied age group. One couple we met said the hotel was the poorest out of the Thomson Gold brochure but this seemed to be based on the plate-clearing problem. Most peoples gripe was the rather low quantity of parasols by the pool, more would be nice, but in reality there isn't space to put any more. Loungers and parasols cannot be 'reserved 'the night before so rise early.

Coming out of the hotel doors and turning left, a five minute walks brings you the harbour which doesn't really come to life until the evenings, the Saturday we were there were some market stalls. There are mainly cafes and cheesy shops selling the usual snorkel, sun cream etc. Come out of the hotel and turn right, and twenty mins walk along the 'promenade 'brings you to the livelier resort of Calla Millor, you'll pass lots of shops along the way as well as cafes, bars etc. There are glass bottom boats for those who wish to get seasick. Bikes, roller blades and annoying motorised cars for very young children can be hired, best to keep your wits about you as seven year olds don't tend to have much sense of direction!

I still can't really see the point of paying extra to stay at the Levante hotel when the Levante Park hotel guests can use all the facilities. Perhaps the food is even better, the sneak preview I had of the rooms didn't show much difference. Besides, the Levante pool area is busier as is their snack bar (can be used by anyone on the beach) so the Levante Park hotel stays quieter. Both are child free (Thomson Gold) I believe the Levante has tea making facilities in the room but I'd recommend you pack a kettle and save a few quid !

Yours, the travelling Cowgirl. Xx

Just back from two weeks at Levante Park and agree with comments re poor service in restaurant. Simply not enough waitresses to clear tables and take/serve drink orders. No-one to welcome you to the restaurant. Blame the management not the workers! Food very plain and poorly presented (especially the sweets). Choice limited for vegetarian in our party. Poor restaurant service let hotel down. Not a patch on other Thomson Gold hotels.

Very Disappointed By The Room Offered On Arrival A

Very disappointed by the room offered on arrival and the subsequent delay in being offered a replacement.

Also felt that the amount of choice in the restaurant was poor by comparison to other 4 star hotels that I have stayed in.

Overall I felt the standard of the hotel to be more three star than 4 star

Overall We Found Everything To Our Satisfactory An

Overall we found everything to our satisfactory and we always have good fun from the time we arrive to the time we have to go home. The STAFF are all so friendly and they speak very good ENGLISH. Nothing is a problem for them, they are so helpful. If you have a complaint or problem they will deal with it. The food is EXCELLENT and there is always something for every one. There is no need for anyone to go HUNGRY. Gala evenings are great and again so much food to choose from and it all looks so lovely. My Husband and I go here every year for our annual holiday in September, we love it so much. My husband has been going here for 15 years now, and I have been going with him for the last 6 years since I met him. We have such a good time we wont think of going anywhere else.T he Resort is very good also. I am Disabled and can't walk very far, so we always hire a disabled scooter for me to get around on which is great. It enables me to go out instead of being stuck in the hotel all day. The Resort is so flat it is easy to ride around on. The Hotel is great no children allowed, so if you want a holiday with no screaming kids this is the hotel you need. We would definitely rate the hotel and resort a perfect 10/10. The Harbour is not very far away and there are plenty of boat trips to go on if you want to. The Beach is very good too. There are plenty of shops to look around and the shop owners are very friendly and will help you with whatever you want. 10/10

The Lavante Park Hotel In Majorca Is An A+ Hotel.

The Lavante Park Hotel in Majorca is an A+ hotel. It is in a good location, spotless with good food and friendly staff, and nothing is a problem for them.

There were no Germans or children when we stayed. Adult only it may be, but don't expect young at heart. The average age on our visit in June 2006 was well over 60, and there were only two couples that were under 45. Otherwise, this hotel rates 10/10.

We booked as a cancellation 3 days before, which cost us £200 each. The usual rate for June is £550+ each. We consider ourselves to be very lucky and privileged to have stayed in such a nice hotel.

After Staying At The Levante Hotel For Many Years,

After staying at the Levante Hotel for many years, I am shocked to find no children under the age of 16 are now allowed in this hotel! This was known as a family hotel, and I had many great years staying at this hotel with my family!

Please change back to anormal Thomson Hotel.

The Hotel Levante Park Is In A 'quiet' Resort In M

The Hotel Levante Park is in a 'Quiet' Resort in Majorca. Although the hotel is specifically aimed at the 16+ age group my 'party' was actually amongst the youngest guests in the hotel. The entertainment (over the road in the Levante) was very good but the beach could not be rated amongst the 'Best in Majorca'. The General 'Service' (food and drink) was also very good but I was VERY disappointed in the poor response to my complaints regarding the Air conditioning in my room. The facilities (in the Levante) were very good - the 2 Jacuzzis were a particular favourite with the guests. However, the indoor pool (in the Levante Park) was closed for the Summer and the Sauna and Steam Room (in the Levante) were out of order for most of the duration of our stay. My family and I have stayed on the Island of Majorca many times in the past and in summary I can only say 'Could do better at this hotel'.
