China Star, Cheshunt

Two of us at here last night. Great choice of food and you can just keep ordering whatever you like. But £2.80 for a glass of soda water...!! Way over priced.

To the guest below, the food portions are smaller than usual as it's clearly the purpose for customers of an 'all you can eat menu' to be able to taste and try as much as possible of a bit of everything. You are also free to re-order the same dish too (as many times as I like!) so I don't see it as a problem if you are ordering from a buffet menu! If you wanted larger portions, you could easily order the alternative a-la-carte menu in which I occasionally have.

Friendly service and atmosphere, very reasonable value for money for the wide choice of dishes to try, and it seems soundly fair that desserts are not included where I have tried other restaurants whereby desserts are never included - especially in the buffet menu whereby dishes are brought to customers instead of the lower quality self-service buffets which I dislike.

I've also been here for several birthday celebrations and found the staff happy to accommodate with birthday songs even played for us! :D Having been a customer (both eating in and deliveries) for several years since moving into Hertfordshire, this will certainly not be the last time I visit this restaurant and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Just ate there for the last time, Service was good but the chef ???; He puts white and black pepper in almost every dish. If you choose the ALl you can eat for 15 pounds menu you will get sub standard portions and be made to feel you are getting something for nothing. Also there are no deserts on the £15 pound menu. Value for money is very poor. This used to be a very good chinese restaurant but sadly its gone down hill so much that I will never be going there again and I would be surprised if they stay in business for more than six months from now. They need to learn that it takes more than just good service charged at 10% - people want value for money and good food too.

This restaurant is excellent - the value for money, the atmosphere, the decor, really everything is fantastic - I have eaten at this restaurant a lot and the quality has never been anything but first class. A gem of a restaurant.

Excellent food. Good Quality. Good service. Very reasonable. I used to live in Cheshunt, now in Norfolk. I always return to the China Star restaurant when I visit Cheshunt. The best thing on the menu is the Salted and Chilli Squid - yum!
