Caffe Unico Ltd, Epping

i have noticed a few of the reviews on here say "i used to go here many times but the other night it was...." ok so one occasion means you will then disregard all other visits? clever review funny how no one reviewed it when it was amazing for the other umpteen visits beforehand

shows this site is more trollingthen genuine. amazing restaurant take my dates there as you are treated as something special but still only pay reasonable price for great cooking, a must place to eat if you enjoy your italian food, get bored of all these bella italia and prezzo chain italians that are cooked by students and no one with any real italian background.

unico always feels like a family italian

This is our very first visit. Having discussed to mates and looking at the critical reviews I was stop expecting dining here. The service was extremely good. Very attentive. The climate was enjoyable yet inviting.They are going the excess distance ensuring their guests are pleased.This was the prettiest ration That i've ever had!I strongly suggest this restaurant if you love cooking. Very accomodating personnel, and try to there when you really need them.

Went for my daughters birthday meal, there was 7 of us, food was very average, nothing special - service was absolutely terrible probably due to the fact that covers over 6 people attract a 10% service charge. 1st and last time that I will eat there.

I repeat do not go for the service.

There are much better resturants out there.

well it does not get any worse than eating the worst food and getting the worst service.

service was the worst I have ever had anywhere the food was bland and overpriced not much more to say except we won't go anywhere near there it was truly horrible do yourselves a favour stear clear

10 of July 2011, We went there on a busy saturday evening, yet we received the best and very friendly service. The food was nice and very tasty. It was like was back in Italy.

The best Italian restaurant I have been to in London. Had Brushetta for starters, 4 stagnione for second and tiramisu for dessert, finished with an espresso.

Everything was so full of real Italian taste and the staff made you feel as you were their special guest.

When we first moved to Epping 18 months ago we used this restaurant on a number of occasions due to the atmosphere, service & food. Unfortunately, it would appear something has gone very wrong as the service and food we received on Friday (22.01) was appalling. tThe service was non-existent & the food was over-cooked, uninviting and disappointing.

Unico is exactly how a restuarant should be, clean, friendly, good service, great food prepared and cooked on the spot, and an italian restaurant owned by an italian family who employ italian staff.

The place is big and airy with tiled floors and stone tables, the menu is a good size, not too big but with enough dishes to keep you coming back for some time.

The food is very good, fresh, flavorsome and wholesome. The portion size is perfect (although served on massive plates!). The speed at which the food came out was great (restaurant being 1/3 full). The staff were always on hand if needed but didn't bother you while you were eating.

Overall Unico is very different to many uk restauarnts, it has more of a Latin feel. There is pride, charm and personality by the bucketfull, it is very welcoming to families and therefore is "lively" but if you want peace and quiet without the waiters "yaking" in ugh...ITALIAN! (how inconsiderate!?) you should go across the road to a well known italian chain restaurant and eat your rocket covered in sticky balsamic in peace.

I started going to Unico 2 months ago and i have never been to such an impressive italian, food is wonderful and you can tell it home-made unlike the usual chain restaurants. Service is not to be touched with a real feel of Italy. Me and my family feel very welcome on every visit and its the childrens first choise. Viva Unico!

This is one of the worst resturants I have been to for service. When I complained about the quality of services and the standards of salad I was set upon by the waiter. Do you think that a tomato and onion salad is good value - one med tomato sliced and one red onion slice, the rings not even pulled apart with no dressing - charge over £5.00.

My advice to everyone avoid at all costs.
