This Venue Had Gone In To Liquidation Taking My &p
This venue had gone in to liquidation taking my £200 deposit money with them. I am truly upset that they took my money in full knowledge that they were going under. I hope the ex useless w a n k e r owners enjoy my £200 as they must of needed it far more than me.

Went To Jailhouse Rock, Hornchurch For A Birthday
Went to Jailhouse Rock, Hornchurch for a birthday and was totally disappointed with the whole experience.
The Staff were miserable, the main courses were awful (Rubbery & Overcooked Chicken & Prawns, Stodgy Rice, wilted salad leaves e.t.c) Though have to say the starters were acceptable & desserts were nice. The drinks were expensive. They only had 2 toilets per sex and the toilet chains/flush were effectively broken as the handle flush had to be pumped six times to get it working (There was a sign on the wall advising you to do this!). The decor was very dated and tacky, when the act/singer was performing, the music was so loud that it was almost painful to our ears. We booked the restaurant on the understanding (from their website)that Dirty Dancing & Grease would be performed on this particular evening, yet Elvis was the only act that appeared. We were never notified of any change in performance. The only good thing I could say about this place is they make a mean cocktail! If you like your evenings out rather rough around the edges, then this is the place for you. ENJOY!

We Had No Choice Of Visiting Jailhouse Rock Restau
We had no choice of visiting Jailhouse Rock Restaurant as a friend of ours wanted to go for her birthday but I would not recommend it. I found the service to be disappointing and then they had a cheek to charge us a 10% service charge on top. I thought the drinks were very overpriced, and it was a very expensive night for what it was.

It Cost Too Much For What I Got, And Staff Didn't
It cost too much for what I got, and staff didn't seem too happy. I also had to wait too long for the food. I will not return to the Jailhouse Rock restaurant in Hornchurch again.

We Went With A Party Of 7 On A Thursday Night And
We went with a party of 7 on a Thursday night and had a great time, a couple of the party had been previously and said it was better that the upstairs area was closed. There was another large group who also appeared to have a great evening. The food was served promptly. With our group and the other party the place was lively and tons of fun! The cocktails are to die for!

I Went To The Jailhouse Rock In Hornchurch For My
I went to the Jailhouse Rock in Hornchurch for my Birthday in September 2007, and despite booking approximately six weeks in advance, I was informed the 8 o'clock sitting was fully booked...not wanting to miss out I opted for the 6 o'clock sitting for a party of 15 of us. I found the whole experience completely rushed. The entertainment lasted literally 20 minutes. The theme for the night was Grease & Dirty Dancing and we heard only about 4 songs from Dirty Dancing...what happened to the grease theme!?
A friend who originally could not make it surprised me by showing up - I asked if it was possible to have another chair around the table, but it all seemed like too much of an effort for the waiters.
We were seated, and within minutes we were asked what we wanted for starter... the plates were whisked away the minute we had finished...to add insult to injury my partner was sick after finding their jumberlyia too tomatoe-y...but I guess that's what he gets for not having quick cook burger & steak like the rest of us! To Jailhouse Rock's credit, the food was edible and there was no complaints from the rest of my party...only about the size of the glasses the spirit and mixers came in.
The only upside would have been the helpfulness of the bar tender on the ground floor... although that may have been because we were ordering taxi's to head home!
I hope, or assume from other reviews that the night is much better with the later booking... even if it means waiting for two weeks after your actual birthday...or booking way in advance.
I certainly didn't think it was worth the £400.00 (+10% service charge) that it cost us, & my experience has put me off of wanting to go back.

I Had A Fantastic Night Celebrating My 30th Birthd
I had a fantastic night celebrating my 30th birthday at Jailhouse Rock Restaurant with a mixed group of 15 people. The evening started off with cocktails all round ( I can recommend the fishbowl cocktail which is big enough for five to share! Everyone enjoyed their food (the 3 course menu was very reasonably priced at £22.50) - the portions were huge! I was a bit sceptical at first, but the entertainment really added to the atmosphere - along with Elvis, there was an excellent Madonna look alike as well as a 70s show. We all had a top evening and are definitely planning a return visit !
