Having Been To The Bonapartes Restraunt Before On

Having been to the Bonapartes restraunt before on 2 occasions and really enjoying the service and time, we automatically assumed it would be the same. How wrong we were!!

Because of the expense of the Bonapartes restaurant, we only get to go there on special occasions. Unfortunately, this did not end up a special occasion due to the AWFUL service we recieved.

They forgot to serve us on 3 occasions, and left us waiting, and the only compensation they offered was that the bread was free.

When I challenged the bill at the end, and offer to pay for 75% of it, the got aggressive with me, took the card and threatened me. They refused to return the card until the bill was paid.

Lets just say it got messy.

The management is appauling, and i urge anyone considering to have a special meal in hornchurch to avoid Bonapartes Restaurant. If i could give it minus stars, i would.

The food itself was okay, what turned up at least, but the staff and customer service was awfull

The only exception to this, is if you are a regular customer. Truly, you are then treated as gods against men..

It Would Be Great To Have A Good French Restaurant

It would be great to have a good French restaurant in Hornchurch. Unfortunately we found the food here to be generally poor - you wouldn't get away with serving food of this quality in France!

Had eaten here once before a few years back and decided to try again despite memories of the food not being that good. This time the steak was fairly dry and tastless and the saut potatoes seemed to have been heated in a microwave - definitely not freshly saut ed.

That said, the atmosphere is good and the proprietor very welcoming.

Bonaparte, Hornchurch, Has Good Atmosphere, Great

Bonaparte, Hornchurch, has good atmosphere, great food, good service..My family and I dine here whenever we have an excuse.. birthdays, anniversaries etc. Our 10 year old son chose a meal here as his birthday treat! I was so impressed that I organised my staff Christmas lunch at Bonapartes, which was fantastic. The owner and staff are friendly and efficient, and it's great not to have to travel far for an authentic french meal.

First time visit to Bonaparte, Hornchurch to celebrate a 21st Birthday. There was 25 of use and cannot fault the service we received. Nothing was too much trouble, food arrived quickly no one was left waiting while others eating. Well run and very organised. WELL DONE to all concerned.

Bonaparte Has An Authentic French Concept, Its Dec

Bonaparte has an authentic french concept, its decor and atmosphere have the resemblance of traditional french life, giving it a unique and specifically cosy feeling. Pleasingly it's owned by a cultured french family, which is especially helpful to myself as I'm a student studying french, they were providing and enjoyably participating in conversation. The service was moderately quick, and a weekly menu was provided which was idiotically cheap for the choice of food. I ate off this menu, firstly i endured a rustic 'Soupe a l'oigon' it had the resemblance of typical french flavours yet without the consistency of appearance, but it tasted sweet and flavoursome. For mains i had 'canard a l'orange' I was rather bewildered to the portions provided with five minimal breasts of duck and with what seemed like around seven litres of orange liquer, also my duck was slightly over-cooked. Yet for how cheap this actually was i needn't stress to any stretch of imagination. To round off a rather potentially brilliant meal i ordered 'fromages de France' Camebert et bleu. I had forty pieces of bread and crackers yet again minimal pieces of cheese. Overall i enjoyed my stay with authentic french cuisine. I will be returning.

Although the atmosphere is a traditional french feeling i feel it needs a refurbishment for modern day cuisine, I think it needs classy images and ornaments not cheap wine bottles and table cloths must be linen not some raggy looking sheet. In my opinion, food must be bigger proportions and be presented with a standard of true french cuisine renown for appearance and light hand. I feel that the waiters must try and not look as if they're in a graveyard. Also outside they could just smarten it up to try to lure and persuade people to enter not look at a tatty Stella Artois umbrella with a metal dirty table.

Overall I feel this can potentially be a renown french restaurant with adjustments, especially with the authentic help of it being french family run not like most places today. The service is brilliant and i recommend anyone learning french to make the effort to visit, to improve and have the reality of french oral. Food is flavoursome yet needs help with proportions and appearance, and the decor solemnly needs to be raised to a modern standard. This is an icon for france and i thoroughly enjoy my time here Bon appetite!

Blink And You Miss This French Restaurant In The H

Blink and you miss this French restaurant in the heart of Hornchurch. So I entered this abode with trepidation but after the initial hiccup of a cold table the evening just evolved into one excellent experience. All the food we ordered was of a very high standard, the house wine sold by the carafe was extremely palatable and the staff could not have been more helpful. Indeed we were the last to leave! My only regret is that this restaurant has been in Hornchurch for 10 years and I have just discovered it!

On Entering The Restaurant The Staff Were Very Fri

On entering the restaurant the staff were very friendly and the setting was relaxed and ambient. Sadly the food was a massive let down, as this was the worst meal I have had in a very long time. I thought the food was completely tastless, especially the red mullet, that bizarrely came served in a piece of tin foil. The chocolate sauce on the dessert had an awful after taste, that was not pleasant in the slightest. The best part about the food was the bread!! I was hugely disappointed, as this restaurant had come highly recommended and for the price we paid I expected so much more. An off night for the chef perhaps? Who knows, but I wont be rushing back anytime soon.
