Health Warning - Using Pipex May Affect Your Credit Rating!

Probably the worst provider of any service that I have had the misfortune to have to deal with in my forty years of dealing with company customer services departments. In fact Pipex do not have a customer service strategy of any kind.

I represent my 82 year old mother, who for 2 years tried every possible avenue to get Pipex to allow me to act on her behalf when she had a problem. We wrote letters and e mails and we called but never managed to succeed to get the record onto their system. During one conversation I was told that Pipex do not accept any written instructions and do not reply to any written correspondence. What kind of company is this?

For that reason, this year I transferred my mothers service back to BT. Problems began when Pipex failed to disconnect her service on the due date. This was ENTIRLY their error as we and BT followed all procedures correctly.

For some months Pipex double charged my mother and we spent over £15 on a number of telephone calls trying to get Pipex to disconnect her service.

Eventually 6 weeks later they sent a closing demand for payment that did not detail in any way what the payment was for or that is was a closing statement. It did not confirm the account was closed or give any details of dates and account closure.

Within four days of receiving this demand my mother received another letter telling her that if she did not pay within 14 days, Pipex would put the matter in the hands of debt collectors and that her credit reference would be affected.

In all this very stressful time Pipex have taken no responsibility of any kind that this was a Pipex error in the first place.

User beware ! this company offers the very poorest level of service.

I'm a fool to myself for sticking with this set of chumps for so long. Overpriced, unreliable and slooooooooow. If this comment appears then it is a true miracle as it would mean i had a connection for longer than a few seconds.

Yes, i've done it to myself but i'm sure one of the many other providers may appreciate my custom.

I Was With Pipex, They Bought Out Homecall, And Be

I was with Pipex, they bought out homecall, and became Pipex Homecall and then made my broadband terrible, I had constant cut outs and broadband speed issues, it was slower that the old dial up alot of the time, when I tried to complain about it, I spent most of my time trying to get through to their customer service line which cost me a fortune, none of their staff could seem to help me, and the helpdesk is poor, and to top that they put my existing contract of £6.50 for broadband up to £15.99 without telling me, so I cancelled my contract, unfortunately, I had been paying the higher price for 12 months, they said they had sent letters out informing of the price raise, but, I never recieved one, and they wouldn't give me my money back either, not easy getting out of their contract, it will cost you about £30 in phone calls to their billing dept. Make sure you cancel your direct debt, as I have read other customers being charged for their services after contract should have ended! they have no customers service at all, Pipex are probably the worst company for broadband out there, that I have used anyway! I have heard Talk Talk have bought them out, I would imagine Pipex will pipe their bad customer service and problems over to Talk Talk too! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PROVIDER FOR BROADBAND BE WARNED!!! do your research, you will find alot of their ex-customers saying pretty much the same.

Have A Constant Hissing And Crackling On My Teleph

Have a constant hissing and crackling on my telephone line. I have had numerous phone calls to customer service in India. They have run numerous tests on my line and everytime tell me their is no fault. I have no broadband connection and basically cannot use the phone either. They have agreed to credit my account for both services for the month that I have had no service. I was sent a new router after speaking with an engineer who ran tests. I was only allowed this if I entered into another 12 months contract. So with no other option I did. I had an engineer visit at 7.15am in the morning who then told me that my new router was faulty and then logged a fault with the phone line with customer service in India. I had a connection for about an hour or two when the engineer logged into the test page connecting to my new router. Now the interference on my phone line is twice as bad as it ever was! After another call back from them today to tell me for the umteenth time, they is not fault on the line - I totally lost it and told them to fix it within the next 48 hours or I will cancel. Her reply was you are not paying for the service until it is fixed so you don't have to cancel. I told her Pipex has a bad reputation and you are upholding that but not fixing my broadband problem. Clearly there is a fault which needs fixing! Totally exasperated by this whole thing!! Its now been a month and half without broadband and unable to use my phone line. Oh but on the upside I have a wireless connection....great if you have a laptop - which I don't!!! Seriously thinking of cancelling but not sure if this will sort out my hissing and crackling and broadband issue??

i had the exactly same experience and even worse was i waste money to bought a new router which that think was the router fault but actually was not the router matter. with no internet connetion for over a months and i finally decided to change to orange a few days ago, still waiting for orange to set up everything and hope orange doesn't let me down.

pipex just a nightmare !

The Rep At Pipex As Good As Told Me Last Friday Via The Phone.

£18 Pound A Month For 2mg, No Phone Line, Phone, EMail Address, Web Space Or Account Page.(Thats What I Was Getting With Toucan Prior To Pipex Takeover)

His Reply Was (It Was Up To Me To Get My Own Accounts In Order And Compare The Prices That I Was Paying).He Then Offered To Reduce The Charge To £8 pounds A Month, And Give Me A Magic Internet Speed.(I Did Not Want To Change My Phone And Line From BT)

I Told Him, That I Would Get Back To Him First Thing Monday Morning And Asked Him To Work Some Of His Magic Over The Weekend And Raise My Speed From (It Had Dropped To 1.1) That's £18 pound For 1.1 Which Went Up And Down.

Monday - Magic Never Happened And I Phoned As Promised, The Call Ended With A Question For Him. If I Receive 1.1mg £18 pounds And You Cannot Up The Speed How Can You Supply Me Magic Speeds For £8.

He Could Not Reply.(He Just Wanted Me To Take Out A New Contract) I GOT MY MACK CODE ARRANGED THERE AND THEN.

Been With Pipex For Over 10 Years Now. It Used To

Been with Pipex for over 10 years now. It used to provide a fast, reliable and sensibly priced service.

Since TalkTalk took over the (8MB) rate has dropped to less than 2MB. They refuse to send a paper bill and the online billing will not allow the user to log on.

Customer support is an utter joke requiring a separate registration process and log on just to contact them.

They have defrauded me of several hundreds of pounds and now I find that due to them "not recognising" my account number I cannot even cancel.

I hope that they can spell OFCOM because that is my next point of call.

I Requested That My Account With Pipex Be

I requested that my account with Pipex be cancelled because I was no longer satisfied with the 'lack of service' I was paying for.

I cancelled on the 17th of November 20010 ,and since I have charged for my monthly bill this year!

When I called to query why I had been charged for a service I was not using ( i have changed mu landline number and service provide since!) I was told that the cancellation had not taken place sue to an 'unforseen error'!.

I have to wait another five days to check if account has been closed!

Value for money is only warranted when the service works!

Utter Dross. Use To Be An Excellent Service When I

Utter dross. Use to be an excellent service when it was Bulldog. Now the service is patchy and unreliable and has a habit of cutting out for days on end. When you phone customer services they try to fob yo off with all sorts of rubbish and never return calls when they say they will. If you are with them the do as i am going to - cancel. If yoi are considering going with them - think again. A shoddy company and a shoddy service.

Do Not Use ... their customer service is dreadful and it si difficult to make a clean break and get out of their grasp once you realise what a crock they are.
