My Peugeot 406 has only just done 29,000 miles for a 2001 year. Need some work on it, but nothing too expensive or stressful!
Definitely proud to have that car!

I Have Had My 2000 V6 Manual 210bhp Model For 3 Mo
I have had my 2000 V6 manual 210bhp model for 3 months and love this car. I have driven BM's most of my life and had a choice between this and a 535i sport - thank goodness I chose the 406. I smile every time I get into it and every time I put my foot down. The only concern is I think it has the wrong springs on the front shock as they creak every time I go over a bump. I have done an 1100 mile trip to Scotland and back and I did it on 2.5 tanks of fuel - not bad for a V6. I will keep this as long as possible because you can't find them any more.
I've got a 98 406 coupe (polaris blue with black learher interior). Love the shape / style ofvthe car, but have a similar niggle with the front suspension - every time I go over any sort of bump, the car feels like the front shocks are about to expire. I had the car very thouroughly checked by my (trusted) local garage and they said that the shocks / suspension are a little aged / worn but that they are perfectly servicable and that the 'feel' when you go over uneven surfaces is normal. I hope that they are right!

I Own A V6 One Of These. It's Not Let Me Down In A
I own a V6 one of these. It's not let me down in almost 3 years. It has the sleek lines that Pininfarina designed. Even 10 years on after the first one was launched, it looks better than most of the cars on todays roads, it hasn't dated a bit.

A Great Car, And So Economical With A Top Mpg Of 1
A great car, and so economical with a top mpg of 16.7.
It actually has 210bhp, and when you hit the sport button it doesn't seem to do anything to the engine, it only activates the ASC and traction control.
Also it gets about 32mpg average and I live in the middle of nowhere. It's my dads car and he also does a lot of motorway and he definitely doesn't hang about...

I Liked This Car From The First Time I Set Eyes On
I liked this car from the first time I set eyes on one which was in my workplace. I saw it parked outside and had to have a look. On seeing the Pinninfarina badge on the side, I knew it was something different and nearly fell over when I saw the Pug badge on the back! The only thing I'm not so keen on mine and I would assume all 2 litre's are the same, is the short gearing in top-about 21mph per 1000rpm. Makes driving it much over 70 sound strained. Yes, I know you shouldn't do more than 70 in the UK but it's nice to have the option when needed! Overall-love the car and I would have another though the next one's going to be a diesel.

Like A Few Others, This Is My 2nd Peugeot 406 3l V
Like a few others, this is my 2nd Peugeot 406 3L V6 manual. The first was a 2000 which was a company car, and now I'm on a rare 2003 in Solstice Gold, one of the last to be made. In between I owned a Jaguar X type 2.5 , which was horrible.
Unlike the other reviewers, I had no problems with either vehicle, and being a sales rep, drive 35,000 miles per annum.
I frequently park in public car parks etc, and on returning to the Pug, think, damn thats a good looking car ! I have had hairy builders and cool school kids, saying, nice car mister !
All my other sales rep friends drive BMW 3's/5's or Benz's , so whilst I haven't got the badge on my driveway, I believe I have the better car both aesthetically and in terms of running costs.
I would have to search far and wide to find a better vehicle than this.

So Far It Has Done 40,000 Miles In Four Years.
So far it has done 40,000 miles in four years.
It has needed...
New battery.
New exhaust.
New Engine management computer (£1100).
New set of six coils (had to be towed in).
New speedo and hand brake warning switch.
And many other smaller parts.
A typical Peugeot!!

I Have Had A Peugeot 406 Coupe 3.0 V6 Se For Three
I have had a Peugeot 406 Coupe 3.0 V6 SE for three years. It is a 1998 model in Diablo Red with the tan leather interior - the most deisrable combination apparently.
It has now done 60,000 miles with virtually no problems at all, except usual maintenance and a replacement radiator.
For a front wheel drive car it handles fantastically well, due to a very good chassis. It feels nimble, and the engine is willing and responsive.
I bought the car because I wanted a coupe, but only the 406 has decent rear seats that really will fit adults, and looks this good.
The car is actually built in Italy by Pininfarina, who also designed it. They also design Ferraris - so there is plenty of pedigree.
The 406 Coupe is an example of when designers really get it right - it will still look fabulous for many years to come. Shame the 407 has nowhere near the style or grace.
