Historically Nildram Has Been A Great Site, And I

Historically Nildram has been a great site, and I have been using them for 8 years or so. Although fairly expensive compared to the cut-price companies, the service had always been reliable and I never had problems with dropouts. However, since Opal has taken over, the service has gone downhill considerably. I would reckon the last 6 months I get multiple disconnections each day, usually a couple of minutes. This cannot be solely the connection and is probably Opal trying to get me to move to another provider.

Opal is now only interested in commercial broadband and probably keeps residential users because of an agreement with Nildram as part of the takeover. I had a call from one of their sales agents attempting to get me to sign up to a new "deal" at 24MB. However, my current "deal" is for 16MB and I rarely get 5MB out of it. So there is absolutely no benefit in going for 24MB as I would see no improvement at all. And worse, the agreement would be for 24 months and I would get 50p discount per month! No thanks!!

So why haven't I moved yet. Unfortunately everyone I know has my email address, and I have had this for many years. So moving is not an easy task, as I am sure many of you know about.

My advice. Do NOT use Nildram. I am sure Mr Mardlin must have made a tidy sum out of the sale, but sadly his name is now associated with a useless service provider.

Problems Started When Opal Took Over, Slower Speed

Problems started when Opal took over, slower speeds and took usenet(newsgoups) off my service. I replied to the email about usenet being dropped and asked if my bill would drop also, they said no because it was a free service, which was the first lie, I referred them to my original Nildram contract. Since then I have moved over to PlusNet (I recommend them, if switching enter ecotack where it asks if someone referred you). Anyway, Nildram charged me for a full month on the day my Plusnet service started, that was 3 months ago and I still don't have a refund. Opal have sent me two emails saying I have a message waiting for me and to log into the site. Both messages are bills for September and October. I was mid argument with a higher up sales person when asked for my MAC code, so received it next day, others have spent weeks trying to get theirs. Opal ruined Nildram.

I Was Just On The On Hold To Techical Support And

I was just on the on hold to techical support and was going to tell them how my service has been a joke and getting worse over the last few months and I thought I would search google to see if I was the only one. Very glad to see that I am not the only one who thinks they have gone down the toilet. I too was a happy customer for many years but it's true what others have said that they are utter rubbish now, be warned. Avoid at all costs! Bye the way I have been waiting for about 5 minutes for this page to load! I think dial up was quicker.

I Have Been With Nildram For 10 Years Without Prob

I have been with Nildram for 10 years without problems. The transfer to Opal is now complete and my service has dropped from 7MB to <1MB at peak times. This never happened before. I have sent 2 emails and left a message on their (Opal) recorded message system and no-one has replied. Customer service is terrible. I will give them another 7 days to improve then attempt to get my MAC code.

Everything Went Really Well Untill Tascali/opal/ta

Everything went really well untill tascali/opal/talktalk took over, it is a terrible service low speeds all the time usually getting disconnected & when we phoned support they denied the fact it was to do with them we later asked them for the exchange code so we can switch ISP's they said it will be five working days, 3 weeks later no code & we keep getting calls from them offering us products/advantages to stay with them we have given them another 5 days to send out a new code before we take matters seriously overall I HIGHLY!!! recommend you do NOT go with nildram!

Just Read All The Negative Reviews And Thought Tha

Just read all the negative reviews and thought that I have a different experience. I have bought a package for up to 16mbits for £19 a month. I have confirmed that my exchange can only do a maximum of 6Mbits which in real life means you can get around 4.5Mbits download speeds. I have been getting exactly that for a long time now. There is throttling or fiddling with your speed depending on usage. You get a straight clean 4.5Mb with a download limit of 50GB. During these few years I had only one problem with disconnection and that was BT's fault. Their technical service was not bad, they were quite keen to solve the problem with BT although they did appear a bit lost since there was a different person dealing with the problem every time I called. I just looked at the available packages (june 2010) from other companies and it seems that they have the best deal. A lot of people just look at the maximum advertised speed and the price. You must know that most providers fiddle with the download speed in real time depending on your usage. I had Tiscali before and although it was advertised as 20Mbits when I was downloading large files it was dropping to ridiculous speeds. Nildram is one of the few providers that don't fiddle with the speed. Even if they did belong to Tiscali for a while.

Have Been With Them Since They Started. Service Is

Have been with them since they started. Service is now slow, spasmodic and frustrating. I appear to be paying twice as much as I might for a far superior service. I cannot even find my service listed in the list of products. I guess I will reluctantly start comparisons.

This Company Has Gone Right Down Hill - Making A S

This company has gone right down hill - making a simple mx record change has taken me most of this morning - a nightmare of talking to unhelpful customer support on premium rate phone lines.

Avoid them - sign up with someone else!!!
