Exhorbitant Waste Of Money
We sent 5 £150.00 M&S hampers to our staff for Christmas. When unpacked onto the dining room table it barely looked more like £50 worth. Very poor value for money, poor content. I doubt that we will send M&S gifts anymore.
It will teach us to look more carefully at the content next time but we really thought that we could trust M&S to provide a good value product.
Clearly the m&S food brand is going downhill as quickly as their clothes
A change of management is badly needed to get them back to their previous trusted position in the UK

i ordered a marks and spencer " hamper". I paid more thinking it would look the part for a christmas present however it came in a carboard box and isnt at all visually appealing. It is infact pathetic and ill be embarrassed to be giving anyone it.DONT BUY ONE!!
Appalling - Breach Of Contract And Lack Of Trust
My mother ordered a Christmas hamper for us on the 9th of December, with delivery due on 23rd December...we're still waiting 6 months on. In the words of Oscar Wilde, (to a greater or lesser degree) "To lose one [hamper], may be regarded as a misfortune. To lose both looks like carelessness". Apt in this instance, as this is the 2nd year in a row that M&S have been careless. The previous year too, they were unable to fulfil their contract to provide a hamper. It beggars belief that M&S have deducted payment and not provided the goods.
I'm shocked that a company such as M&S can be so flippant about this, refusing to address themselves to the issues, when my sister tried to speak to them. They used the spurious reason of 'security' in their lack of effort to deal with the non-delivery, and have continued to obfuscate our enquiries. Its too easy and almost disrespectful to refund the money to the card. What is the point of a shop if not to provide goods/services? The hampers were bought in good faith and the shop has entered into a contract to provide these goods. They are therefore in breach of contract.

'merry Xmas Hamper' Being Delivered 6th January ... Maybe
I ordered a Merry Christmas hamper on 5th December thinking that, since I live in Canada, it would be a nice gesture for my family in Wales. The delivery date quoted was 12th December. Long story short, I received e-mails postponing the delivery date five times. The one that shocked me the most was received late on Xmas Eve, quoting a delivery date of 2 Jan. Have now been quoted 6 Jan. Customer Care's reaction when I spoke to them on Boxing Day was 'do you want to cancel the order?'. Not the point, M & S! Latest reaction is "the hamper is out of stock so they'll probably never get it. We'll send a gift card for the same amount as the hamper and an apology letter". I'm speachless! They should have told customers about the stock problems in early December so that we had a chance to make alternative arrangements. And really, M & S doesn't have other items it could have used amidst its thousands of Xmas goodies? Negligence doesn't begin to describe it. John Lewis next year!

M&s Chilled Hamper Not Delivered.
My son in Sydney ordered a chilled M & S Christmas Hamper to be delivered on Monday December 19th 2011. No delivery ;no card left. Phoned M&S Customer Service. Hamper to be delivered Wednesday 21st. Stayed in all day, no delivery; no card. Today, Thursday, 22nd have spent most of day phoning the Customer Service call centre with varying answers. They had called Wednesday and left a card. They would deliver within next 48 hours!! Finally had some help from Commercial Manager M & S Yeovil, our nearest store. The bad news was the delivery contractor City-Link had called and left card (NO) and as a result the chilled hamper was returned to the depot and HAD TO BE DESTROYED. We would NOT receive a Hamper and moreover my son in Sydney would only receive a 30% refund as that was on line ordering policy.
City-Link seem to have no liability and M& S seem to accept no accountability. The whole system seems open to abuse. Who did destroy the hamper, how and when? Christmas Day?

Bah Humbug
My sister and I ordered a Christmas hamper for my brother on 5th December, booking delivery for 22nd December so that the hamper, which contained perishables such as cheese, would be delivered in time for festivities. We asked my brother to make sure someone was in ALL DAY, which he did. At 7pm my brother phoned to say that nothing had been delivered, so my sister got in touch with M & S who said, ooops, there had been a problem with the delivery - the hamper hadn't been put on the lorry, and sorry, that's that. So we put time and effort into chosing the ideal gift, my brother waits around all day, no one even thinks to contact us to say that there's been a problem and then, at the end of the day, M & S leave us high and dry without a Christmas present for my brother, who lives 300 miles away from me. Am outraged and really disappointed at such poor service from what I stupidly imagined was a reputable brand.
My advice to anyone thinking of surprising a loved one with a carefully chosen Christmas hamper from Marks & Spencer would be not to bother - the surprise is more likely to be a nasty one for yourself.

My Father Bought Me A Marks And Spencers Cheese La
My father bought me a marks and spencers cheese larder hamper for christmas, it cost him £75!! It consisted of a cheap wooden Box (supposedly the larder), a small bottle of wine, a box of cheese biscuits, and three pieces of cheese. How marks and spencers can justify chargeing £75 pounds is beyond me. Trying to complain was an exercise in a waste of telephone calls and time. I advised my father never to waste his money on any of their hampers again.

My Wife's Auntie Ordered For Us A Hamper From M&s
My wife's Auntie ordered for us a hamper from M&S as a Christmas gift, the parcel arrived in time, but when I opened to check the content I was shocked to discover that most items( short bread, tea bags, chocolate , marmalade are only few weeks close to their sell by the date. This is Marks and Spencer new way to rip you off.

My Mother-in-law Sent Us A Marks And Spencers 'ham
My mother-in-law sent us a Marks and Spencers 'hamper' - a cardboard box - containing such poor quality items that most of them were given to the dog. She must have paid quite a lot for it. Given the reputation of M and S, I was really shocked at the poor quality. There appears to be no facility for nought stars: that's what it deserved.
