It Was Evident At The Outset That Le Scribe Is Not

It was evident at the outset that Le Scribe is not as well appointed as many others moored nearby. Cabin was adequate, but no hairdryer. Food was unexciting and often cold. Left for several hours in electrically warmed tureens especially if a tour group eats earlier - rest of diners get same food 3 hours later. Extremely bad coffee. Bread was tastless and I'm inclined to believe it's loaded at outset, frozen and defrosted as needed. Sweets are limited and predictable. Cheese only available at dinner if you ask specially. Liver served twice (overcooked, dried-up and curled), lettuce only ever seen on one meal, ran out of tomatoes on at least two occasions. An attempt at eggs florentine failed miserably (I cook this regularly and am able to judge quite well). Fish generally served coated in breadcrumbs as was the chicken. It's rumoured the chicken had some meat on it. Soups were OK 50% of time (according to our table of 8) - typically when solid bits were evident in the murk.

Horrified to find that at 03:00am whilst attempting to get to bathroom, all electrics on the boat are off. This also results in toilet being unable to flush, no water in handbasin, in-room fridge warming-up and, presumably, all safety systems inoperable. This happened at least twice. Excuse:

We Have Just Finished A 7 Night Nile Cruise On Le

We have just finished a 7 night nile cruise on Le Scribe. This was the first cruise we have ever been on. It was the best holiday experience ever. The crew and staff were excellent. The food and accommodation were faultless and our Egyptologist Maged was "Magic". I would recommend this boat and holiday to anyone. We booked this through Archers Direct and combined it with a 7 night stay at Le Meridien Luxor. We will certainly be doing this again.
