After 2 Years My Mp3philips Hdd120 Ad A Major Soft

After 2 years my MP3Philips HDD120 ad a major software crash.

The MP3 no longer knows what it is at all and I cannot recover files on it, some of which were important.

I e-mailed phillips about it and they replied saying they could fix it for £160!!!! Yes, the files were important but not THAT important

I've Had The Philips Hdd120 For About 3 Years. It'

I've had the Philips HDD120 for about 3 years. It's worked alright as a music listening device, but the software is a train wreck next to just about any other program and the limiter on the maximum volume makes hearing many songs difficult in any noisy environment like the subway. Also annoying is periodic pauses in playback, I guess when the memory reboots. Battery life has dwindled to a rather useless 3-4 hours or so.

The up side is the line-in recording. Though it seems to have skipping problems at the 192kbps setting, the 128kbps works pretty well - though you still may get some recording skips that I suppose are directly related to the playback memory-skip problem. Still it has been invaluable at band rehearsal for getting song ideas and being able to e-mail them out to everyone to listen back and reference.

I Have To Say That The Philips Hdd120 Is A Great M

I have to say that the Philips HDD120 is a great MP3 player, and I would highly recommend it to anyone... But, I am having a lot of trouble charging my battery... :( I plug it in with the adapter when the MP3 is on, and to make sure it charges, I have to make sure it stays on for the next 4 hours, and still I only get 2 bars of battery life?? If I try and charge it without it being on, it does nothing at all.

If anyone knows how to sort this out, please can you leave me a comment on here, as I am very frustrated at this.....

Thanks...

I Really Like The Philips Hdd120 Mp3 Player. Howev

I really like the Philips HDD120 MP3 player. However, the main frustration is in transferring songs to it, which when you start from scratch takes days (I kid you not).

I always store my song formats at 192 bits (CD quality), and I was thinking of lowering this to see if file transfers got any quicker. I have just transferred 200 songs in over 5 hours!!!

I Have A Lot To Say About The Philips Hdd120 Mp3 P

I have a lot to say about the Philips HDD120 MP3 player. Some of it good, quite a lot bad. It was a bit of a roller-coaster thing for me!

SOFTWARE

POSITIVE:

I liked the 'ID Tag' function, enabling me to sort out all my songs under their correct titles and genres etc. It keeps things more organized.

Easy enough to get used to, simple lay-out.

NEGATIVE:

A little bit slower than I expected for transferring songs on to the device.

Sometimes froze, or wouldn't let me change the ID of songs.

SOUND QUALITY

Very good; particularly as I love listening to my music loud.

I hated the headphones as the little rubber protectors fell off and got lost. I then had to use different headphones.

BATTERY LIFE

Quite bad. It charges quickly but runs out quickly too.

APPEARANCE

Nice, I loved the chrome thing at the side, but it became a little bulky looking after a while, compared to newer MP3 players.

GENERAL

Unfortunately, this MP3 player caused me a lot of problems. It always froze, and I think I got it repaired 3 times in the space of about 9 to 10 months. The shop then upgraded me to the HDD623, which I have just handed back in to get a refund. I was really disappointed as I love the appearance and sound quality of Philips, but there were just too many problems and I was always annoyed with it!! Pretty disappointing.

I Have Had The Philips Hdd120 Player For A Year No

I have had the Philips HDD120 player for a year now and am very pleased with it.

I have used it to record from vinyl onto the player; but a word of caution, if you are recording a lot of music directly onto the machine, backup and reload data from PC after about 4Gb or the timer on recording does some very strange things.

After The Trouble With The Software (my Fault I Ma

After the trouble with the software (my fault I may add) the player seems O.K.

I have used the Windows media player MyMusic file to load the tracks onto the HDDs software and this works well.

If you have an 'unknown artist' file against the track you have loaded the HDD120 software lets you put the name of the track and the artist into the track listing. A good feature because it lets you put other info in there such as track date etc.

5000 tracks on one MP3 is fine by me.

All in all a good buy.
