Airtours Must Improve The Level Of Information Pro
Airtours must improve the level of information provided, if properties are listed as being available on Airtours holidays from such as Kaloo why are they not on Airtours own web site.

Problem, Lady on her own (56yrs approx) lost her passport
they said they would sort out next day, nothing appeared to happen. She was in tears next day, my wife and myself eventually found mike and asked him what was happening he told us she would have to go to the British Consulate in Malaga, that was all he could do but he would get a map. I went to Malaga by train, we found the consulate and they where excellent. We had to report loss of passport to police had said not to) taxi to police station to get loss forms and number
returned to consulate all ok. This took from 8.45 to 15.20 Question. Should a lady on her own, distressed not able to speak Spanish be expected to do this on her own
I would have thought that this was what a company rep was there for he gives Air tours a bad image.

I Have Found The Airtours Website Sadly Lacking In
I have found the Airtours website sadly lacking in functionality; it is not easy to use if you are serious about trying to get information and make a booking. Too much of the site does not work as it should.
I used the 'email us' links on the 'contact us' tab three times and after nearly two weeks I have still not had a reply, except the automatic reply that puts your query on hold.
We wanted to arrange a trip to Brazil for two weeks to include a 2 day tour of Rio de Janeiro. The particular holiday arrangements we wanted to look at are in the Airtours Far and Away brochure and in the online brochure for Brazil. Neither contains full information e.g. how long the stay is in the beach hotel after the tour and there are no details on the hotels used in Salvador and in Rio itself or details of the internal flights, fundamental stuff I'd say.
You are supposed to be able to use the hotel or holiday codes in the 'quick find' tab to look at the individual holidays. There were two different codes for the holiday we were looking at, neither of them returned a result.
You could say, what if the site doesn't work, you can pick up the phone? Well yes but Airtours have the cheek to apply an admin fee for telephone bookings of £12 per person, plus any on-line discount is likely to be lost. I can't be definitive about this as I can't see the prices!
So, Airtours have lost our custom. If a travel company can't run a website that works, that has correct information on it and they can't even be bothered to reply to emails then they don't deserve our custom. Certainly, we would not trust their ability to provide a good service on our holiday if they cannot get the admin correct.
The holiday we planned would have cost several thousand pounds, which we are glad to spend with someone else who can service our needs.
My advice is, don't bother with the Airtours website if you are serious about booking with them. Certainly, don't bother emailing as they don't personally reply!

I've Found Genuine Value From The Airtours Website
I've found genuine value from the Airtours website (www.airtours.co.uk) in the past. It's a good place to find some prices to use as a negotiating tool with the travel agents. I also find it useful for finding information on accomodation rather than trapesing through brochures for hours on end. I've never booked on Airtours because I believe you get better deals by negotiating in person - however the site is useful for research purposes.
