It Was Total Rubbish Until I Made A Firmwareupdate

It was total rubbish until I made a firmwareupdate to version "BYS3". After that it produces nearly no errors - nearly. After an update to firmware version "BYX5", it works perfect. No even the LED is a Bicoulored one (green: reading, red: writing). The Sony DW-D22A is quick and reliable after the firmware upgrade.

The Sony Dw-d22a Worked Great When It Worked But I

The Sony DW-D22A worked great when it worked but it stopped recognizing blank dvd's after some time.

Used to work fine with my Taiyo Yudens, then tried a different brand after those ran out and it would not recognize them, so I thought it was just picky and I got the TY's again now it does not recognize them either.

I Have A Sony Vaio Vgc-rb45g That Came With The Dv

I have a Sony VAIO VGC-RB45G that came with the DVD RW DW D22A already installed. I cannot do anything with it. I try to make back-up CDs with family pictures on it and it doesn't even recognize that I have a CD in the drive. Forget about burning any CDs/DVDs. It doesn't work.

I found out that it really isn't a Sony product... it just has their name on it. They do not provide any support for this issue and play dumb about it. What is that supposed to mean?

I don't normally complain, but this is crazy. I have spent 30 hours trying to find a solution over the last year...

This Drive Worked Great For Over 3 Years, Then It

This drive worked great for over 3 years, then it flaked out - it picked and chose when to work and when not to. Loading Linux Live-CD .iso's started to work erradically. Guess it gave up after 3+ years. My first CD\DVD to crap out in all the years of computing.

Another Sony Failure. Mine Worked For Short Time A

Another Sony failure. Mine worked for short time and then stopped. No support or documentation. Terrible product. Why is it at such successful companies just go downhill after awhile and won't support their products?

Sony Offer No Help At All On The Sony Dw-d22a Dvd

Sony offer no help at all on the Sony DW-D22A DVD Writer. The tech and customer service departments are very unhelpful. The DVD Writer does not read and it doesn't burn.

I Have Used 7 Of These In A Dvd Duplicator For A Y

I have used 7 of these in a DVD duplicator for a year now, and I have burned over a 1000 DVD's and about 200 CD's, and they have worked very well. I would highly recommend the Sony DW-D22A DVD Writer.

It Was Fun At First, But It Would Not Recognize A

It was fun at first, but it would not recognize a DVD after 1 year. It also makes very loud and strange noises while loading.

I have a new DVD burner on the way, which will replace the Sony DW-D22A DVD writer, as it's a piece of junk.

In Retrospect I Think My A-open Dvd Rw Dl Is A Muc

In retrospect I think my A-open DVD RW DL is a much better buy than my Sony DW-D22A and comes with extra face plates for color considerations!

These guys want our bussiness Sony is getting to big for it's britches.

Bought A Sony Dw-d22a And It Worked Fine For About

Bought a Sony DW-D22A and it worked fine for about 5 months. Now it will not read a blank cd or dvd. No help from Sony. They do not even list it as their product and will not answer e-mail concerning it
