Not Too Bad
Had a Gold Chalet that had recently been refurbished. Nice furniture and quite large. However bed was of average size and comfortable but with a hard ridge down the sides of the mattress that felt very hard and uncomfortable if your leg went over it. Very small bedroom, only room for one bedside table. Everywhere quite clean. When opening the kitchen cupboards they smelt bad, found out when washing up that water was getting down back of sink and it flooded the cupboard and upon clearing it up the water went on the floor so had to get on hands and knees to clean cupboard and floor. No mop given. Told by reception that mops were a health and safety issue! But two men came within 10 mins and put sealant down. Some bad points are; No full length mirror; No heater in bathroom; Only one tiny shelf in bathroom; No hooks in bathroom; No soap dish in shower; Had to search for a booklet to find out how cooker worked - its in drawer under cutlery. No clock; No mop or broom and only found a dustpan and brush at the back/behind of a cupboard when leaving. No sink drainer (water went onto cooker if not careful); No tray. No proper restaurant, only a chippie type place, very small. Both chippie place AND shop closed at 12 midday so nowhere to get any lunch. WiFi didn't always connect in Bar. The staff were fine and the two nights we visited the Entertainment, the singers were good.

Take A Heater, Sleeping Bags And Thermal Clothing!!
We were originally booked in from march 24th to 28th for a short break, as we were taking our dog we knew the accommodation would not be spectacular for a "bronze" caravan. So we were pleasantly surprised at the interior of no 64 Yew Tree, It was very clean and not too doggy smelling but it was bitterly cold. We put the fire on ( 1 candle watt would be being generous) and felt no warmth so we put the oven on and had the door open, still not very warm. but when we went to bed it was horrendous.....even though we had left the doors open to try to put some heat in there it was like walking into a fridge!. We had taken sleeping bags in case it was cold but with those and quilts we were frozen so we spent that first night huddled in the lounge. I phoned reception and asked if they could supply a heater but they said they had all been hired out and no more available, they offered blankets but I don't like them, we left the fire on all night and slept cramped up in the living room, we could not pull out the bed in the lounge as it would mean we couldn't have the fire on,so after 2 more nights of freezing we decided to come home a day early. I have to say this was our 3rd holiday with John fowler, The second being a free one to compensate for the first, I think I will steer clear from now on. I have also to say we are both in our late 60s and have many years of caravan holidays and this is on the lowest of our favourites list!

I Loved It
i loved it the kids entertainment was fab this year 2012 the stripes are so happy and love dancing with the kds and if u need anything then ask he staff and they will help you. the accomidation was fabuless i abslutaly love it. cant put it into this how much i love it. infact when i get a bit oder i would love to work there as a stripey. Thats how much i love it!!!!!
the best chalets to stay in is 69 to 70 because if u have kids then there is a park out side but dont worry its shut at 8 so u wont have kids there late at night and you will have a goods night sleep i always to do anyway.
the caberays they have are very good Aaron james who works there as a stripey 2011-2012-2013 (i know that he is there next year so) sings and he has a amazing voie and i love to hear him sing it is just amazing.
child care is morning there is a morning club for kids to go to 10 to 11 i think then at night kids from 6 till 7 then bingo then at 8:15 its foxey show time then its just adult game show and caberay and then late night disco and finishes 11:30 to 12 i think. you will get a leaflet telling you the times and all of that. pets are welcome but at extra cost n i think that is mostley dogs more than anything else. there is a fish and chip sop and a shop on site.

Will Certainly Be Going Back Next Year
We stayed at sandy glade last week & stayed in chalet no 43 after being given a free upgrade,i was dreading it after reading the reports to be honest but when we arrived we were greeted well & were handed our keys straight away(even though it stated on our booking form we wouldnt get keys till 4pm).All the staff was very helpful & friendly. The chalet was very clean & tidy didn't smell & had no problems. The whole site was clean & tidied many times during our stay. The entertainment staff stripy Katie,Debbie,Lauren&Aaron are perfect 4the job & Aaron well what can i say he was absolutely FANTASTIC on his cabaret night iv never laughed so much in all my life, was certainly a night 2remember.My 2yr old son really enjoyed watching Freddy the Fox & i found it entertaining 4myself.It is close to Weston super-mere & Burnham on sea, even Animal Farm Adventure Park & Sooty's Fun park, there's also a park on site 4the children which is clean & tidy so there's always something 2do.Yes the clubhouse is abit expensive but u expect that on a holiday park. There's a shop on site which aint 2bad but then there's also a Mccolls near by which is avarage priced & has everything u need, there is a restaurant on site but couldnt tell you what food is like because we ate out most times but the childrens meals werent bad we paid £2.45 for a kids nugget n chips meal.By the end of our holiday we didnt want to leave but we WILL CERTAINLY BE GOING BACK NEXT YEAR.

Wouldn't Go Again
We wasn't expecting 5 stars when we arrived which was a
Good job really, home from home this is not,it was very basic
And wasn't very well cleaned, and the rat traps hidden behind
Cupboards only confirmed this!!the kids enjoyed the swimming pool
But the lifeguards sitting there on the mobiles
Didn't fill me with much hope if something happened to a child
One thing I won't complain about is the stripey coats and nightly
Entertainment, they did a excellent job in entertain myself and family
Very Poor
stayed at sandy glade for four nights in one of thier chalets, not very clean toliet smelt terrible and there were dog hairs covering the carpet clearly has,nt been hooverd.the swimming pool was ok if it was,nt for the lifeguards constantly staring at us making us feel very uncomftable, the clubhouse is nice but very overcrowded and overpriced ,the entertainers would be ok if they were,nt making daft comments when calling bingo numbers, also not keen on kids playing bingo for money.

Didnt Want To Leave There
i stayed at sandy glade last week and i absolutely loved it. the room had no problems, didn't smell and was next to the pub, so i had wifi all the time. the entertainment staff: Lauren, Katy and Aaron was the best people for the job. they was just the right people to entertain everyone. even though foxy time was for the children me and my family enjoyed freddy tell us about killing a crab because it bit him on the bum. it is close to weston and burnam on sea so you always had something to do. after my week was over i didnt want to leave because it was the best holiday and best entertainment staff they can have.

Excellent
Visited Sandy Glades last week for a 4 night stay with my husband, 2 daughters 6 and 12 and my husbands grandson 5.After reading the very poor reviews i was actually dreading it and went loaded with anti bac wipes and bleach !
Arrived to find very friendly staff on reception and to be told we had a free upgrade from a 2 bed chalet to 3 bed . As we opened the patio doors we breathed a sigh of relief it was very clean ( not the ritz but what do you expect for £139 for 5).
the staff were very friendly and the site grounds immaculate .Kids all enjoyed the evening entertainment and the pool was also really clean.
Plenty to do nearby too with both burnham and brean close by , lovely sandy beaches over the road too.
The only thing i would say that would improve our holiday was better weather but i don't think that John Fowler can be held responsible for that !!!!
Please give this site a chance we will definitly be going back.
