When I Stepped In...
I think that the food was very good! however very slow service. the receipt was on a peice of scrap paper.the waitress was very kind as i think her name was melody. we got along really well. the atmostphere was brilliant! i met lots of new people. this is hard as i am from a forign country. which is why my spelling is bad. i saw a little girl called chloe. she was very cute and everyone was very happy! to see the kitchen was very reassury=ing as you may know! the food wasquite exspenisive my bill was 112 pounds! thats over 3 weeks work for me. when i went it was quiet. hardly anyone and also that girl chloe couldnt stop looking at the fishes they had! i think it would be great for kids to be there so this girl chloe could have someone to play with! i wouldve liked them to tell me their names. i dont think they were japanese. they seemed like chinese if you ask me. but we hardly ever have japanese food so its nice to have one here.

Our First Impression When Walking In The Door Was
Our first impression when walking in the door was poor and this remained for the whole evening. The decor and atmosphere was bland and none exsitant we felt we was in a cheap cafe. The service was slow, disjointed and the waitress not very good and not helpfull. The food, when it did arrive, was very good, but should have been served together with accompanied dishes, the main course was 45 mins after the starter and 15 mins after the side dishes arrived for the main. Our overall opinion is - food good, service poor, ambaince poor and very very overpriced, will not use again and not recommend. Have been to other Japanese restuarants here and the far east and this restaurant has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction.

This Was My First Visit To Fujiyama And A Japanese
This was my first visit to Fujiyama and a Japanese restaurant, first impression was a nicely turned out restaurant with a window into the kitchen (which is always reassuring, as you could see from the street how the food is prepared).
Service was good if a little slow when asking for the bill but the food was lovely, would highly recommend for an authentic japanese meal.
We had Sushi & Chicken & Rice, a drink each and the bill was £55 which in my opinion was very reasonable, would definately visit again but this time I would make a reservation as it was starting to get busy when we left approx 8pm and you can then sit around the chef's and interact with them while they cook your meal, but obviously this gets booked quickly.
I Went To This Restaurant During A Lunch Time With
I went to this restaurant during a lunch time with my two small children and my mother for a light sushi lunch. We had a very mediocre lunch with one dish of sashimi and two tempuras and noodles, rice and salad. We did not have any wine, just soft drinks and the bill came to an astronomical £81.00. My children are four years old and my mother is 80 so you can imagine we didn't exactly order a banquette. An automatic 10 percent was added to the bill and the bill was not even itemised but presented on scribbled pieces of paper that one would normally hand to the chef. To top it off the waitress squeezed a lemon with her own fingers into my soup after which I could not eat it.

Wish I could get the recipe for the Teriyaki Chicken, its to die for!
The Sushi and Sashimi I could never make as well, so I wouldn't try. Well worth the money. definately recommend Fujiyama in Westcliff On Sea.
