Best Car I've Owned!

Bought a nighthawke black civic 2005 sport with all the extras tints spoiler upgraded 17 in honda penta alloys etc payed 3200 with 52k full honda service history back about 8 months ago now still love the car it's abit slow in the lower revs but once you push over 4000rpm it soon shifts! Absolutely mint car worth paying the extra for a decent car much better looking than a focus it Astra and to drive ! Insurance is so cheap to had a clip dci and it was 6 pound difference bear in mind I'm 24 driving 3 yrs pay 600 fully comp! Will be after a Type r once I can afford the insurance though :) recommend anyone to get one its hard to get a decent low mileage one was looking for months for mine but they are out there!

Very Pleased. Economical And Fun In Equal Measure.

I purchased my Milano red 1.6 Honda Civic Sport from a used car dealer in Poole, some 60 miles away, after having scoured the Internet for a low miler in good condition.

Let's just say I am not disappointed with my new motor! She has only covered 37k miles, which is great for a 55-plate car, and it appears as though the log book has been stamped every 5-6k miles, which is reassuring, to be honest.

I like the looks of the Sport. My car already has window tints, but that appears to be the only mod on it. Bodywork is sound, only one or two car park dings by the looks of it, but you have to really look for them to actually see these. I don't think it would cost much to get them sorted.

Space is good inside, seats are pretty comfortable and space is massive when seats are folded down. It feels well put together and I'm hoping that Honda's reputation for reliability holds true.

The drive is smooth on good roads, however the roads local to me are crappy and the very firm suspension makes you bounce around a bit. There is also a fair bit of road noise. I may need to invest in some decent tyres in the next few months which may remedy the problems, to an extent.

Performance-wise this has nothing on the Type R. The engine is 1.6L SOHC VTEC and can't really compete with the 2.0l DOHC iVTEC in its older brother. I use my car daily to get to work and back, plus driving my kids about, so Im not too concerned about the 0-30 time. Having owned a SEAT Leon Cupra I am now keen to have a car that is reliable, returns >35mpg and doesn't cost £270 in road tax. Insurance cost isn't that much better than the SEAT or Type-R, however its definitely more economical in terms of daily use / fuel cost.

Every pleased and looking forward to holding on to my 1.6 Sport for a few years to come yet..!

Most Reliable And Best Looking 1.6 Sport

I decidedto upgrade from my first car a 1.1 206 which seemed to always be in the garage(due to cheap parts), so after looking around it was between this and a new shape focus. Test drove alot of both cars and the honda won hands down with everything! They may be a bit dearer but you definitely get what you pay for as all iv ever done is regularly service it and change tyres....

I eventually settled on a 3 door 1.6sport(4years old) in black with all the extras a Type-r would have plus black alloys and tints, to this day it still gets comments on its looks and doesn't look dated for a 7year old car...

Driving position is very comfortable with everything in reach, the gear stick position is much better than the standard in my opinion.

Very spacious car with plenty of leg room in the back, boot is pretty big and seats almost fold flat! So many handy cabby holes in the front with plenty of cup holders!

Engine is very reliable with plenty of power for its size especially when the v-tec kicks in at 4000 revs you feel the boost. Iv upgraded my filter to a K&N which gives it that extra grunt along with a new exhaust system.

Overall a brilliant car would definitely recommend and buy again tomorrow! Spend that extra bit for the honda rather than settle for unreliability and pay for parts in the future!

The Civic Sport Seems To Be Hondas Best Kept Secre

The Civic sport seems to be hondas best kept secret, looks just like a type r but with a perfect economical engine, ok so you have to rev the engine to make it move fast but thats not a problem as everyone knows a honda engine will cope with it. The ride is stiff but if you want a soft car buy an astra. Typical Japanese cockpit very siple and boring but has a very solid feel. Dash mounted gear stick is fantastic, at first it feels strange but once you get used to it, its feels very natural.

round town i get 42mpg

long journey 46mpg

and i dont 'rag' the motor but im sure it will use plenty of juice if u keep the vtec going.

I Had Been Looking For Honda Civic 1.6 Vtec Sport

I had been looking for Honda Civic 1.6 Vtec Sport for months and finaly got ahold of one.. i had to drive over 2 hours away from were i live and the wait was finaly over, i sat in a 2005 (05 plate model in silver with 41k on clock for £5995). I was all excited, i switched the engine on and it sounded good for a stock exhaust ( twin exhaust backbox ) i then drove down the road and i couldnt help but feel dissapointed, it didnt feel particualy fast for a 1.6, although it did go through the gears nicely and the gearbox was pretty cool, but compared to a new cars ( i.e a vauxhall astra) it just isnt in the same league, it feels dated and old, the car felt long and big, there was alot of room in the back though lots of space! it has a reasonable sized boot.. other things i didnt like was the brakes, the car has just recently passed its MOT and i had to apply alot of pressure onto the brakes for them to actualy work! the brakes were not good! the steering wheel was to " in your face " BIG! i didnt realy like the seats that much either, they dont hold you in place very good and they dont look very nice, they are pretty comfotable though. This is a hard car to get ahold of especialy one that hasnt been abused and ragged about so if you are in the market looking for one.. do look around! alot of boy racers have had there hands on them and alot of them go for auctions and have been involved in accidents!

Not overall impressed with this car and feel dissapointed! 6/10

I've just turned 18 and I'm looking for a nice, nippy car. I'm split between a Honda Civic sport vtec 1.6 and a Ford Fiesta mk6 2.0l. For's and against for both as the Civic that I would like to buy is fully modified and better on fuel, where as the st is faster. Not quite sure on which one to get or what other "boy racer" car to get?
