Stolichnaya Is A Fine, Clean-tasting Vodka, Excel

Stolichnaya is a fine, clean-tasting vodka, excellent straight (out of the freezer) or mixed in a martini. I have been drinking it for years. BUT, I am being frustrated by the new bottle/cap which apparently is designed never to be opened. The old bottle had a metal cap which twisted off easily. The new one is plastic, covered with a pastic-like sleeve which can only be opened by inserting a sharp knife-blade between cap and bottle and cutting all around. Even then it is often a battle before the cap gives up. Whoever designed this bottle/cap combination has obviously never tried to open it. I may be forced to switch to a lesser vodka.

While So Many Others Have Tried To Emulate Russian

While so many others have tried to emulate Russian vodka production techniques, they have never wholly succeeded.

There are three key elements that separate Stoli from its imitators. First and most importantly, Stoli is distilled from winter wheat and yeast, which is the finest tasting wheat, not from corn or similar grains.

Produced in Russia's oldest distillery, it is considered the classic and traditional Russian vodka. Secondly, practically all domestic vodka producers use processed water to condense the product to its appropriate proof, but the makers of Stoli use the purest, softest glacial waters.

Finally, Stoli is quadruple filtered through both quartz charcoal, then back through quartz again and finally woven cloth. This is why it has the super-clear appearance of 'pure-filtration.

Like many others, this vodka makes an exceptional Vodka Tonic, but don't waste this fine drink by mixing it with tonic water, lime or lemon. You wouldn't pour Coca Cola in a 20yr old Malt Whisky.... would ya?

I can recommend Stolis 100 proof for its endurance in the freezer and its lasting quality down to the last slurp.

Stolichnaya 100 proof Vodka is my most freezer-friendly-favourite vodka of all time. It's a superb starter for a meal, and perfect for cleansing the palate. For a nightcap it is without equal and it tastes good late at night too, which is most important.

I was hoping they'd send me a bottle or two... I live in hope! Thank you for your kind comments.

My Russian wife agrees with you that this is an excellent vodka. Yes, the Russians are renound for their vodka but as for their 'production techniques' I presume that you are not including their 'bootleg' brews specially reserved for giving to mothers' in law / for engine cleaning / for starting bonfires? You review is so slick and professional that Stolichnaya should consider offering you a post in their P.R. department. Well done.

Stoli Is Probably The Best Non-premium Priced (in

Stoli is probably the best non-premium priced (in Canada anyway) vodka on the market. There are some better vodkas, i.e. Belvedere, Grey Goose, Chopin, but to get something better than Stoli, you'll have to pay a significantly higher price.

Smirnoff, Absolut, and Finlandia just can't compare.

I completely agree with you, same here in the UK imo. Stoli is a far smoother, full bodied vodka than any other in it's price range that I've tasted.

Stolichnaya Vodka, Or 'stoli', Is Probably The Cle

Stolichnaya Vodka, or 'Stoli', is probably the cleanest and the most pure vodka on the market. It's so clean that in my very experienced, yet personal opinion the only right way to drink it is after you've had a bottle in a freezer 24 hrs prior to consuming. It would be an audacity to mix with anything but a clean shot glass. (Will Cooper, Teddington)
