Horrible Experience With Alanita Travels

I bought air tickets (emirates airline) through an agent from alanita travels, due to personal emergency I had to cancel the tickets, I called them and enquired the process, they asked to me pay penalty of $750 for cancellation through zelle transfer which I have sent them by Zelle, then agent mentioned that you will get entire refund from airlne of $2727.04 in two weeks of timeframe, in 2 weeks airline refunded partial amount and deducted another $600 from $2727.04,

have been trying to reach out to Alanita travel through email and phone, they don't respond to any email I have sent them multiple times to get my refund, over the phone they just take my phone number and say an agent will call you back but nobody calls me back.

they are so customer unfriendly that after selling tickets don't bother to listen customer, no response in email or taking over the phone, for selling tickets, getting money they will follow up multiple times in a daybut later they don't even talk to customer.

they have charged the cancellation penalty to me but nothing paid to airline so airline charged me again, since these tickets are booked from Alanita travel , airline doesn't want to entertain me directly. now for two tickets,

they have charged me $750 (Alanita travel) $600 (Emirates airline) which is almost 50% 0f my ticket expense. when I was checking on emirates site , in no situation they charge 50% of cancellation, also to add that tickets were cancelled on 23rd Nov. 2022 in afternoon, well in advance of travel plan ( 29th Nov. 2022 at 10:30 PM EST).

I need my refund of $750 as ticket cancellation charges $600 already deducted by airline, I also believe Alanita travel is asking customers to pay through zelle so somewhere they are manipulating of taxes as well. it's kind of sham of charging double for ticket cancellation and not paying proper taxes to IRS.

Terrible

Wanted to share my terrible experience with Alanita. Would never recommend to do business based on my experience for last few weeks. Office in Frisco (by Eldorado and Independence Pkwy) has limited ability and relies completely on remote office staff for all and any action. Remote staff is irresponsive and do not take responsibiliy or stick to what they promise to the customer. Overall terrible and if you want to make any changes to travel plans its a nightmare to deal with them.

We booked our tickets at the Frisco Office in April,and made sure we wanted fliexible/reschedulable ticktets keeping in mind the Pandemic situation. They promised everything would be taken care of. we visited the Frisco office well in advance to the travel date and asked for date change,they said they cannot make any changes themselves.Frisco office is only able to make new reservations. They ask you to call their customer service.The customer service is the worst so far. They take your call and mention we can make changes 24 hrs prior to travel, and will schedule call back with the travel agent to resolve your issue which never happens. After multiple calls from our side they reveal to you that they dont work with the airlines directly and there is a third party in between Alanita and airlines who takes care of the reservations and do not have any updates from airlines.Again after mulitple calls they send an email asking for new dates, we gave a set of new dates and asked for a quote, however again they stop respondig and after multiple calls from us for almost 2 weeks they respond and say we cannot reschedule your tickets and your money will not be refunded either. They tell you Airline has changed the policy. I felt, Alanita is just fooling by giving lame excuses. They never work for the customer and everytime you call they move you to a different agent even if we ask for the agent working on our case and never help with resolving the issue.

Worst Experience

This is the worst travel agency. They took my $793 dollars for no reason. I booked my ticket and then there was a travel ban on international student and wasn’t not able to make this trip. So they convinced me to keep this ticket open as there was penalty for no show. I do not get this if there is a ban on travel then how can I travel and how can this penalty applies to me. Anyway I kept this ticket open and it is been a year and the ticket is about to expire. So now I wanted to cancel this ticket and I am requesting for my refund. But they are asking for another $550 for cancellation and no show penalties. Can anyone please advise me on this ?

We Have Been Booking With Them For Many Years, Pri

We have been booking with them for many years, primarily because initially we were getting it somewhat cheaper compared to online....things were fine until COVID arrived when you really needed customer service and people needed rescheduling/refunds....

We booked a Delta flight and were told if your journey is impacted by covid, we will get you refund..if you reschedule, you can pay the fare difference and fly......our child came down with covid and we couldnt fly...then started the nightmare of dealing with poor customer service...no refunds, nothing.....ticket got converted to an open ticket because Delta allowed it.......then, when it came to rescheduling, they started the game of making further money by asking $300/ticket on top of what we had already paid (a 570 ticket), stating its airline policy and they cant do much (while online fares on those dates were lower than what we had paid).....so pay up, or loose the ticket already holding....finally we were able to get hold of delta customer care, who told us Delta never asked for such a money...Delta only requires fare difference, which was only $4.50 for our preferred dates.....finally the delta customer care was able to redeem the e-credits and issue the ticket, but not before this Alanita gang made us pay $50/ticket as the service charge on top to release the tickets...

Lesson learned, dont go with them, book directly on the airline website, mostly they are comparable fares and you have a smooth process of rescheduling/refund without paying these middlemen additional hundreds of $ in "airline policy" fees that never exist in first place....

Worst Travel Experience

Worst travel agency , please no one book tickets with them . I booked tickets with them for China and I was traveling with 8 year old . They gave me such a bad connections and first flight got canceled and I talked to AirPort about arranging for next flight and they told me call the agency with which I booked and I called Alanita and no one helped me . They directed back me to airlines and they said they cannot do anything . These people just take money and put you in whatever bad coonections they can find and that’s all . I will make sure that none of my friends will book with them . Please no one book your travel with them . Book direct with airlines
