Nokia Lumia 620

Nokia Lumia 620 - I have a love/hate relationship with this phone. I bought the phone, my 1st smartphone, in April; I use it for phone calls, texts, checking my emails, keeping my diary and web browsing.

It does all these things very well and i'm truly converted to a smart phone now! This phone is light, small and does what it's meant to do well. I find it easy to use and really like the Windows 8 interface. (I don't do apps so the fact these are more limited on windows isn't a factor for me). Before I bought it I had been suspicious of the plastic back, but it actually feels surprisingly solid. The speaker is more than adequate - though in a place where it sometimes gets covered by my hand.

The screen is very sensitive - at times I don't even have to touch it, and nice and clear. The camera is great for everyday snaps - good colours and tome.

Battery life is no more than average, but is enough for a days use for me. I just need to remember to charge it up each day because once the level indicator starts to go down it does lose power very quickly.

BUT - and it's a big but I'm afraid and the reason why it only gets 3* from me - it has a horrible habit (every 2-3 weeks) of just not working! It freezes or won't turn off and it's latest trick is not to let me take incoming calls. All this rather makes the other great things redundant.

Summary - when it works it's a great phone and should have 5 stars, but too often it just doesn't work so I'm afraid if this is typical of the product then I can't recommend it.

Read some old reviews about this company, and thought the phone wasn't going to arrive! 9 days later it DID! via DHL with whom i tracked the order from hong kong on DHL's website. There was a chinese bank-holiday the day after i ordered.

Cheaper than buying within the uk, and the phone is great. Windows 8 tiles works great on a touch-screen, camera is fab too. Has been my new toy for the last week! Is my first smartphone and i already want a bigger screen! The micro sd cards are cheap there too.

One bad point - they sent me magenta (pink), instead of red.

Typical smartphone; the standby-time could be better.
