Total Nightmare
I had my solar panels installed in 2014 by My Planet. When rep visited they gave us over exaggerated return figures for the system, we didn't know then they would be no where near figures quoted and got finance over 10 years to pay for them.After installation, we started to get leaks in our home which were checked on more than one occasion and we were told that that loft was dry. After three months of constant phone calls, emails and then to discover that the panels were not working properly, they finally came out to sort problems out.We thought every thing was fine until the weather got bad again and then we got even more water coming into the house again, due to a second inverter string being put in. It took a month of phone calls, emails until finally the problem of the leaks was put right.I had my system checked and was told every thing was working properly, until a got my feed in tariff cheque, then it was obvious that equipment wasn't working again. Altogether we have been dealing with this for well over a year and now have mould issues in our home. We went with this company because it was endorsed by all the leading companies, this has proven to be the worst decision we have ever made. It seems that although 'My Planet' is legally a separate company, it is
inextricably linked to 'Our Planet': I have emailed 'My Planet' and
received a reply from 'Our Planet'. There are definite links between
the two businesses. We are now getting our system checked once again, this has been a total nightmare from the start and we are now in the process of taking our complaint further.
I know just how you feel, when did you have your panels installed? If you paid using finance who did you use and what did the company tell you to persuade you into installing the panels? One of the companies mentioned on this site have tried to remove my review twice, I note they don't dispute, everything I have written about my experience and their incompetence caused by the people they employed but was they were willing to dispute a link between the two companies. but because I have proof showing that the companies must have possible links because I sent an email to one and received a reply from the other company. I would definitely urged all customers to let other people using this site of their experience. I know a large number of us were mislead into buying panels under false assumptions regarding performance, we are now discovering this is a grey area to prove. The more people who writes a review of their experience, at the hands of these dodgy companies, like these, can only be a good thing. I note they are good solar panel installers out there but unfortunately for us, we didn't go with them but instead but our trust in companies who despite industry endorsements and numerous consumer codes are now, badly let down, with no where to turn.

Dreadful Company
Perfect service when selling but everything changes once they have your money. They don’t turn up for appointments, promises are broken and phone calls, emails, text messages and even a letter to MD were all ignored. After 9 months system generating pro rata a massive 42% LESS than their minimum figure - but they say all working properly.

Warranty Is Worthless, My Planet Now Switched To Our Planet
I have just commented on another review on here as I`m furious to see My Planet cleverly not fold, but `stop` installing solar, despite their connection to a different firm that still does install solar: 'Our Planet'. What a joke. So here we have a company that installed a huge amount of solar panels and clearly does not want to take the responsibility now for them. To state on their website that this is due to the government cuts is, in my opinion, untruthful to say the least! If it's due to government cuts, why be so closely linked with another company (Our Planet') that is still doing the same thing? What a joke.

Dear Tweeterooa`s. That is incorrect as you well know. My Planet is in liquidation, appointed liquidators are Doyle Davies Ltd. My Planet company number 06636963. I recently contacted My Planet to arrange for a repair of my system but found out it is in liquidation. A five minute internet search reveals `Our Planet` have the same accounting office. And the Director Mr Mark Bonaficio also appears on the companies house records for both companies.
My gripe is that My Planet have folded stating that the FIT tariff cut is to blame, and yet a similar named company with the same logo, including the same directors and at an accounting office used by both companies now trades. It is my opinion that this is no coincidence. Also a very underhand tactic to ditch 1000`s of customers including myself who worked hard to purchase a solar PV system that we can no longer have serviced or make call outs under warranty.
A simple question, will happen once Our planet have their fill of solar work, will they go into liquidation also ?
This is a nonsense review. A simple check on companies house shows the company still trades. They appear to have simply grown/expanded.
Amazing how a company can decide to stop selling solar one day, open the next as another (but the same) company and just carry on without consideration to all the people out there that have got goods that might pack up and have no one to turn to. I think Our Planet solar w.w.w.Ourplanetuk.com should be forced to repair and up keep the installations of My planet given its the same people!

Please Do Not Use This Company!
Well ... where do I start! Had a rep round November 2015. We signed up for the installation of 12 panels at £6895.00.
Had them installed in December 2015. Since then I have sent numerous emails and phone calls. Emails bounce back with an automated message. No returned calls. When we speak to customer services they assure that an engineer will call back ... NOTHING! Our solar panels move in the wind.
Today Wednesday 03/02/2016 I have found this post on their website. We are now taking legal advice along with other families that have been sold this product and are not satisfied. Please be assured that this will not be the last of my postings. If I find more information I will post it in the future.
Sorry I haven't replied to your comment earlier and I am disgusted how you were treated by My Planet, unfortunately they have no moral compass at all and were only interested in making money regardless of anything else. I know that you have complained to Trading Standards and your MP but have you tried putting a complaint in to Hies. The way you were ignored because of the affects of your stroke is diabolical and your husband being railroaded into the sale by the rep, the solar panels should have never been sold to you if you both didn't agree to the sale. It is worth getting in contact with them, just to see if they can do something in regards to your situation you were put in.
I am really sorry for not replying sooner but didn't realise I had any comments left on my review. My original review is Total Nightmare on the top of this page, which gives more of an insight to what we have gone through with My Planet since having the installation in 2014. I have now been fighting this first with the company and then with the different organisations who endorsed them, I have put in complaints to all of them and apart from Hies offering to mediate between us, this was as far as they prepared to go, which went on until they ceased trading. In regards to the mis-selling of the panels, I know what I was told by My Planet and I know they were many others that were told that the FIT payments would cover the loan payments, they were even brought before the RECC in September 2014 for breaking the consumer code, this wasn't made public at the time that I had my panels fitted. I have been told that I can't prove the panels were mis-sold because they wasn't anything written down by them and this is classed has only verbal, there is no proof this was what we were told by them Hies said there was nothing further they could do. I ended up going to the Financial Ombudsman because I had used finance to pay for the panels and they advised me that I could put in a complaint through the Finance company which I have done, it has taken a year but the finance company has agreed to reduce the loan by 25% and in my case cover the costs of the damage caused by them. In regards to the insurance policy I have spoken to Hies today because I wanted to put a complaint in about all the companies who endorsed My Planet and continued to endorse them even though they were aware of how they were treating their customers and leaving a trail of devastation behind them. I was told I could put a complaint to Trading Standards, which I intend to do, he did mention that the guarantee would still cover if the equipment wasn't working, even though the insurance company had gone into liquidation. Hi, Just found this site and I am really angry and frustrated . We signed up for 12 panels at £10,000 in October 2014 and feel we have been missold this product also. I had phoned to complain about the output and someone came and checked and said everything was working fine and we should be getting a good return from the FIT payments and savings on the electicity bills but we still haven't noticed any savings We were told the system would pay for its self.and took out finance arranged by My Plane for 10 years assuming wrongly the £129 a month payments would be covered by the savings we would be making, this wasn't so. I have cleared this debt out of my savings as the interest rates were so high for the next 10 years. We will never recoup the £10,000 on so called savings over the prerdicted 25 years, I shall be 95 and my partner 99 yrs by then should we still be living! .. I do believe we were taken advantage of due to our age, ingorance as to how the solar panels work. given so many scribbled figures and after 2hours were convinces we were doing a good thing .not only for us but for the environment.!! but can we do anything now?
We have the same complaints as yourself, promised a return from salesman of £268.00 every 3 months. Had a loan from Tesco bank £97.00 per month over 10 years. This year our FIT Has produced just £250.00. They have now gone, aswell as the insurance company endorsed by Nick Ross from crimewatch. Interesting to know if he knows they are using him as a selling point. If you have any idea of what we could do which isn't going to cost us anymore money we would be interested in hearing from you.

Poor Customers Services Never Get Back To You

Had our system installed early December absolute joke. Messed around for nearly a week . Lack of communication from the installation manager and the helpline. Damaged my electrics and made my roof leak. I was informed that I would be given a £100 for the hassle back verbally from him and the roof fixed asap, nothing happened. Had the roof fixed and have paid a bill for over £200 for damage to the lead work. Still waiting for somebody from the 0800 number to get back. Going to an ombudsman to get these issues sorted. I have rung and rung with nothing in return. Stay away from this company simply fob you off and hope you will go away

Just received a phone call from my planet and I can say I've never been spoken to so rudely just because I said I was not interested in the solar panels. . . Will never do Business with these and will tell anyone interested in solar panels not to do business with these people either
My Planet Took Us For A Ride.
Had 16 panels fitted, fitting process fiasco that was the point when I should have changed my mind. first quarter pay out only £186 when they predicted more. Just told by British Gas my panels out put has dropped from 97% to 48%! Tried phoning My Planet, 0800 number has a repeating message of "Please wait for the next customer service advisor." Their Head Office number disconnects.

Very Pleased
Had panels fitted in January, 2015. Very pleased. Fitted when they said they would, and they said would generate 3030kw of power for the year. Looks like we will be finishing on about the 3000 mark, so 99% is pretty damn good. Will take about 10 years to pay for themselves, but after that, will be quids in. Will add to value of property also, if ever sold. One of best decisions we've made.
Dont Be Tricked By This Company
We had our solar panels installed in August 2013 by this company after a visit by their rep, who was extremely pushy and persuasive we had 16 panels fitted and was told if we signed up today then we would be able to qualify for a special deal,so we signed up and was charged around £9000 as he told us we would soon get that back on what we would save and from feed in tarrif to the supplier and was told that as we had paid this amount that when battery packs became available we would be retrospectively be fitted with one as part of the package.
I read earlier on this year that these battery packs were now on the market.So I rang My Planet to see what was happening and when would we be fitted,only to be told that no we were not entitled to this under the original contract and if we wanted one fitted we would have to pay a few thousand pounds more.
I am enraged at this as my partner and myself sat in our house when he told us this would be included,this man has not had the courtesy to get back to me to explain why he tells a blatant lie, and I am in the preparing to hand the details over to BBC Watchdog who have shown an interest in this company
Sorry to tell you not anymore you haven't the insurance company Enterprise went into liquidation on Octobert the 26th ! you should have heard by now .
The insurance company which My Planet suggested to us a few years ago has just gone into liquidation, so check yours out. We got cold feet about My Planet so thank fully we did not proceed. We thought their estimates were unrealistic.
I've got solar panels from my planet , but I've got a 10 year insurance guarantee with HIES if the company ceases to trade.

There is a company in the same area that's sprung up called Our Planet. What a coincidence!
Good luck but you may have to go elsewhere. You could try Squaredeal Solar in Rustington, West Sussex. Brilliant company and a fraction of the price of My Planet or Our Planet or whatever their name now.
