Comfortable But Absolutely Not Water Proof!
Really comfortable boots but my second pair with the same problem. First pair started to leak within 2 weeks, returned and told they must have been from a faulty batch. Exchanged and these lasted 3 months of light woodland walking before they started to leak. Not taking these back as receipt long gone I and have now bought a pair of Keen boors for less than the MW pair.

Comfortable, Yes, But...
Bought these as a pair of light duty walking boots. Very light & comfy, but within a few months had started leaking. They both had a split between the sole & the upper. Should have taken them back, but could not find the receipt. I'm usually a big fan of MW stuff, never had any problems with their stuff, but I would not recommend these.

Avoid Wet Grass As Your Boots Age!
After 4 years of occasional fell and coastal walking my sturdy mountain life waterproof boots from Mountain Warehouse have begun to leak. The problem lies in the bonding of sole with leather upper - recent walks in wet long grass have resulted in sodden socks. The Vibram soles are hardly worn. It's a shame because they are the most comfortable boots I've ever had. From previous reviews it looks as if I've been fortunate to get 4 years out of them before the problem developed.

Apollo Ladies Waterproof? No Way!
I've had my boots for about a year and they're very light and comfortable but I've just come back from a walk in wet grass and my feet are soaked. Water wicked up through tongue and ankle to my trousers so the bottoms were soaked too. The label on the boots clearly says waterproof. This didn't happen with my old Gortex boots. I am very disappointed. I wish I'd read the reviews before snapping up a bargain (I thought) in Gloucester Quays. I don't have the receipt so can't return them. My loss, my advice is don't buy them.

Mountainlife Hiking Boots Bought As Waterproof But Are Not
I bought a pair of MountainLife hiking boots with Vibram soles on 14 December 2011. I SPECIFICALLY asked if they were waterproof as I had previously has problems with boots not being waterproof. I think anyone would agree that there is nothing more irritating than going on a walk/hike and having wet feet. Well, I was assured that they were and all the paperwork said as much, as did the label on the boots ("ISODRY waterproof and highly breathable). Alas, on the fourth wearing in February when the grass was wet my boots leaked. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed.
Another reviewer has commented that they were offered another pair but that they also leaked.
The boots were comfortable but I would not recommend anyone bought a pair as they do not live up to their claim of being waterproof.
My dilemma now is ...
1 - do I return them and get a replacement that will leak (probably not)
2 - do I ask for my money back (probably not as I bought them reduced in a sale and thought I had a bargain)
3 - seal them myself with some sealant(probably because it is the easiest way out).
I have only given two stars below for "Value for Money" because if they leak then they are not value for money.
I'm having the same problem with a pair of Mountain Warehouse 'Traveller' boots. Advertised as waterproof due to the ISODRY material, but in wet grass the soak up the water. Waste of money!
Don't bother sealing them. I heavily Nikwax-ed mine from new (because the girl in the shop advised it) and it lasted about 2 weeks before leaking. And I've only used them around wet fields, not deep puddles. Waste of money - mine are going back soon.

Mountain Warehouse 'gale' Mens Waterproof Shoes - Avoid
I bought these shoes from Mountain Warehouse Kendal, mainly because they have Vibram soles. As I have several pairs of walking boots, I wore them only rarely and then more as a best pair of shoes, never on the fells and never in the wet, though they claim to be waterproof. However after I had them for 16 months of very light wear the lasting edges tore away from the soles - just the outer material not the lining. This happened on both shoes. I took them back to the shop where the assistants were both pleasant and helpful agreeing that wear was light and that the shoes were clearly faulty. I was offered a replacement pair but this had to be cleared with the regional manager who was contacted by phone. He instructed the assistants over the phone that I should not be offered anything in recompense since the shoes were over a year old. I had paid £35 for a pair faulty shoes. Conclusion? Firstly this make of Mountain Warehouse's shoes is of extremely poor quality so avoid it. Secondly a brief phone call to a regional manager (who didn't even ask the assistant about the faults) can be used to justify company cost savings at the expense of lousy customer service.
A £35 pair of shoes or boots is not going to last very long - fact of life! I have bought several pairs of Mountainlife shoes over the years, and they have typically lasted around 12-15 months. They are comfortable, cheap and stay waterproof for several months, which is more than can be said for similar Karrimor shoes.

I Bought These As They Felt Very Comfortable. I Am
I bought these as they felt very comfortable. I am a big walker, often doing long-distance cross-country so comfortable and waterproof boots are really important. The first pair of these I bought I actually took back as they leaked. I should have know better than to purchase another pair but stupidly took the word of the sales rep to said this was a one-off. I have had the other pair for just over a year and they leak as well, which happened on a long-distance walk and gave me blisters. The company refuse to accept that they are faulty and I have now bought a pair of expensive Berghaus - which I should have done in the first place! The only good thing is the comfort of the boots but they are definitely NOT waterproof - buy them at your peril!
Very comfortable and warm but leak even on the wet pavement. This appeared to be due to the fact that the sole doesn't have solid tread. The tread is hollow and about 1mm thick and the fabric interior of the boot is behind this and so they soak up the water.
Totally agree - these are rubbish. Very comfortable and warm but leak even on the wet pavement. This appeared to be due to the fact that the sole doesn't have solid tread. The tread is hollow and about 1mm thick and the fabric interior of the boot is behind this and so they soak up water.
I found this review very helpful because...I tried a pair of these boots on in Mountain warehouse and they felt comfortable and are supposed to be waterproof. I may not now buy them after reading this review, even though they are on sale.
