Peter Storm Adventure Low

These boots are very comfy as the other reviewers have said, they're also quite presentable, which means you can wear them to Tesco without looking like you're on a geography field trip! The downside is that for any kind of outdoor use they're useless. In fact the only thing I would recommend them for is going to Tesco.

The biggest issue here is that they're not at all waterproof. The first time I used them for proper walking was a slightly damp day, over grassed fields with some dew on the ground. Soon enough my feet were wet under the soles! I wasn't wading through puddles or climbing mountains - just crossing a flat, well drained field. I was very disappointed. My husband has got Hi-Tec shoes which aren't even supposed to be waterproof, but his feet were dry and mine wet.

Another problem is that thorns go straight through the soles! I've never had walking boots so flimsy - just ordinary thorns on the ground went straight through the soles and stick in the soles of your feet. Ouch!

I also got mine from Millets, and oddly they said that all their waterproof boots are like this, basically not waterproof. I've got a pair of boots bought in 1997 which are still waterproof today, so I think the trick is just don't buy footwear from Millets.

So in conclusion you can't use them if it's been raining recently, or if there's dew on the ground, or on rough or thorny ground. Use them for shopping or maybe as very chunky slippers!

I bought my Daughter a pair of peterstorm waterproof boots there is the problem they are not water proof would never buy another pair.

My Wife bought a pair of Peter Storm walking boots from Millets for our Daughter who was traveling to Costa Rica for a two week holiday with Real Gap working with a group helping to collect tuttle eggs, Planting trees ect, She put the boots on for one night on the beech the sea water came over them, Because they were uncomfortable to walk on sand that was the only time she wore them, On returning the boots were unpacked the metal eyelets had corroded and many had fallen off, We had used the protective spray advised so would not recomend these or Millets who said they would not replace them. If they had said not suitable if emersed in sea water for three second this would have helped to be fair they were not cleaned after coming off the beech.

As far as comfort goes these peter storm adventure lows are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn and they have excellent grip.

However the bad points out way the good!

They are meant to waterproof but even after walking through a damp field my feet were drenched never mind in the rain, they also get very warm, so on a warm but wet summers day you have warm but wet feet - yuk!

These boots would be great for a cold but dry day but I wouldn't buy another pair due to the waterproofing issue.
