Lasted Me 14 Years.
Lasted me 13 years. Did Helvellyn in them at age 14 after owning them for 1 year and still going now I'm aged 26. That's a massive 13 years. Heavy use hill walking in Dales and Lake District, also everyday use when snowing or in muddy fields at outdoor events. Sole has never come unstuck, just worn through and leather now finally cracking. Perhaps I should've cleaned them better? Only problem is they don't make these anymore...what to do?!

Very Poor Quality
I have had my boots a few years, but not worn the very much. The sole is still in really good condition, as are the uppers, but the plastic/rubber edging had worn away in several places so that the sole is nearly falling off. This has never happened to me with any other boot. Very disappointed and wont buy again. I'm now trying to find someone to repair them
Very Comfy But Very Poor Sole Quality
I have had these boots 6 years now and the wear on the sole has always been poor with the edge of the heels starting to break up when they were only 2 years old. Having just returned from a few days walking in Wales I noticed that the grey section of the sole has now come away. Rubbish. Other half has a pair of Scarpas bought on the same day as my Raichle's and they have none of these issues. Both pairs of our boots have endured the same usage, conditions and treatment so very poor show from Raichle. Whilst these have been very comfy I would not buy again. I have older winter boots that have soles in better condition (strangely these are also Scarpas which have spent plenty of time rammed into crampons).

Best Boots I've Ever Had!
Reading the other reviews I think I must have been lucky with mine. I bought mine over 4 years ago when they were under the Raichle name. I've been all over in them, himalayas, the alps, Wales, Scotland etc and the only ever time I had any problems with them was when I had one heel blister while trekking in Crete (even then I put this down to the wrong type of sock rather than the boot). The uppers on the toe area have scratched and scuffed easily given they don't have the toe protector, however they have never leaked even though I've only re-proofed them maybe 3 times since I bought them, and have remained really comfortable to date. I was also pleasantly surprised that given how stiff they are, I had no problems at all breaking them in. All in all I've been really happy with them and I'm hoping they'll last me another good few years, as I remember the pain of trying on so many different brands and styles trying to find a comfy boot that also gives you a decent level of stability. I do not fancy going through all that again any time soon.

Sole Survivor
The uppers are great. The Vibram sole is excellent. Tyhe shock-absorbing layer disintegrates, allowing the Vibram to detach from the boot. It is the spongey shock-absorbing layer that seems to be the trouble. A great boot in all other respects, but I shall not be buying another pair.

Mammut Refused To Change My Mtn Trail For New One's!
Different problem, same NO solution! I bought my Mammut's MTN Trail boots last September '11 and by December '11 the eyelets started to get rust. I used them to go hiking in the forests around London and also in Wales. Never used them in a sea environment or similar.
Ellis Brigham has dealt with them and they refused to repair or send me a new one's due to a improper use. I dont really know what to do since this boots are not cheap at all!
Anyone with the same problem or with a recommendation?
Also, the inner sole is starting to get a bit mossy and dumpy, so I guess in and around a year it will get the same problems of you guys....
Just dissapointed!

Two Weeks In Austria
I spent two weeks in Austria with my brand new boots on and they were great, they were comfortable and I did not get any blisters. Unfortunatly a lug "fell off" during my holiday and on return to the UK I had to have them resoled.
Steer clear of these boots.

Mammut Took Over Some Of Raichle's Products. This
Mammut took over some of Raichle's products. This Mammut boot is identical to the Raichle boot by the same name.
The boots are manufactured in Romania and the sole detaches in a sort time in spite of good care and gentle use. I returned the boots to Mammut USA and they sent me a second pair of identical boots, also made in Romaina. The sole of the second pair detached in exactly the same place and in the same manner as the first pair. Mammut USA offered me yet another pair but I declined and they refunded the purchase price, after I had to insist.
I had to spend $150 on shipping to resolve the issue. Mammut USA refused to send the replacement boots to Canada and they had to be sent to a location in the USA and then onwards to Canada. The onward shipping cost $100. Initial return shipping cost $50. Mammut refused to cover any of the shipping costs. I finally had to get past the person who was handling the matter in order to get decent treatment from his superior. I had to fight to get decent service.
They wanted me to again pay for shipping but finally agreed to pay for it.
No more Mammut for me and never from Romania.

The Same Problem Like Everybody! The Sole Is Disin
the same problem like everybody! The sole is disintegrating just after 1 year of wearing... It seems like this excellent boot it's ruined by this Vibram sole! Incredible! Almost everybody has the same problem! So, "something is rotten in the state of Switzerland!!!"

Same Problem As All Timberlands. They Feel Great B
Same problem as all Timberlands. They feel great but the soles fall off within a year of light use. The company does not care because people keep buying. Buy something that will last.
My soles disentigrated too. For an expensive pair of boots, this is very disappointing especially as you are in the middle of a trip and your soles literally start falling off and flapping. Raichle should be ashamed of the quality.
