So Rude And Total False Selling
The website prices are totally different to that when you call. Website doesn't let you book but makes you call Rep and then the price is almost 3 times the price available on their site.
When questioned, the Rep (Silpi) is so rude!!!
Mis Selling
Terrible! avoid!
I spoke to a representative. I wanted to stay in doubletree Hilton in Ras el Kaimah and wanted the be exclusive all inclusive rate.
I was sold this deal and paid the deposit, confirmed the package by email. But when i requested for the package ito be put on our travel documents, he started getting a bit annoyed and told me that I didn't understand that the computer produces these documents and that they cannot be amended!
At this point I asked to speak to the manager, and he confirmed that we only had the basic all inclusive deal! At that point I was fuming!
I wanted my deposit back and the booking cancelled. I sent the email trail to them, but it took them 2 days to investigate and that was because I kept chasing, otherwise I think my matter would still be unresolved now! Finally they returned my deposit, but didn't take any ownership of the blame!
They lost a returning customer due to lies and unprofessionalism! I would never recommend this company again.
We Booked A Holiday With Awayholidays And All Seem
We booked a holiday with awayholidays and all seemed OK. The 1 hour after booking Russel the travel agent I had booked with said he had a special offer for me if I paid another £400.00 and that I could extend my final payment date. I said no thanks and was happy with deal I had and did not want his SPECIAL OFFER! After trying desperately to convince me to take the special offer and meeting the same response. He said ok and sheepishly ended the call.
The next day we received an email saying card had been declined. I spoke to the bank and he had not even attempted to make the payment instead told me he had just realised he got a number wrong on my card. This was now his next route to get more money. I have cancelled the holiday as this was all just a deceitful pack of lies to get me to book holiday for small deposit and then ask for more money. We feel we have had a lucky escape. Please don't use this company if you want to feel safe in what you have booked. They lie and cheat there way to a deal!
Avoid At All Costs
BEWARE- cannot be trusted!
This company will try to entice you with a good priced holiday, take your card details and then book you a different holiday without your permission. When contacting them to resolve this there is never a supervisor in or available and then they never phone you back as they promise to. Their website supposedly has a way to complain but when you try to submit the form it doesn't register. They don't have an email address for customer service or support.
They took £3000 of my money without my authorisation to book a holiday at a resort I didn't want to go to (using card details i gave them for a far better resort which then conveniently wasn't available).
Only when I launched a complaint with ABTA did I get any response!
Stay well away.
Away holidays are the same company as Southall travel, Travel trolley and several others (look at abta website for their other names!)
Ignore good reviews - many of which are probably fake (see article below). Bad reviews are "reported" as being from an "unverified customer".. Trust pilot asked for evidence of my dealings with the company which I sent them but they still haven't reinstated my bad review!!!!!
I'm now £3000 out of pocket and going through ABTA to register a formal complaint and resolve it through them.
"Websites such as Trustpilot claim to have millions of "authentic reviews from actual customers" to help shoppers buy online with confidence. But a Guardian Money investigation has uncovered fake reviewing on an almost industrial scale, with companies paying offshore
contractors to post numerous glowing accounts of their activities, yet maintaining they are from unbiased consumers." The Guardian Sat 26th 2013
Probable example of this is a 5 star review written which apparently IS a verified order!
